Not only does that expert not know the value of an original DK arcade in that condition... he doesn’t even know how to pronounce Miyamoto’s last name
It lacks of explanations about " original " cabinets, like : what about the joystick and the plunger buttons... This is supposed to be black top with red blue blue buttons right ? I'm confused it's not mentioned
NO "collector" is looking for 600 games packed into one cabinet.
@RR Extra No its not I can [prob get one for 400 most where I am at
but most people buying a game cabinet are... most people don't have space for 600 arcade cabinets.

@Anakin Crosby wow that's crazy ty
💯
THE CHEAPEST i have seen this one going for is $1800 that so called expert was way off
Well, this episode is from season 12. Do some research, do the math, and then account for inflation and see what figure you come up with.
MrProTechHD you’re way off Dbag
Ku Rules no he's not dumbass
@@r0bw00d I accounted for inflation and did some research while doing some math. I came up with your mom.
@@justinripley7530 That was completely uncalled for and, frankly, unfathomably boring. From here on out, best ditch the ad hominems entirely and put some thought and effort into your responses.
Corey: let me call an expert
Calls donkey Kong
He should've called a plumber.
Called a donkey not sure about donkey kong
@@jimsmith1277 Or a carpenter in this case
DK : 1 million bananas
Seller: "I want $2,500"
Corey: "I'll give ya 25 cents and one final play on the game."
800$ for original Donkey Kong arcade? Can I buy one please?
@Satnav Simmo Those machines are completely different. An original Donkey Kong arcade has way more collector / geek value.
simpsons arcane was going for that much.
Satnav Simmo I could build one with 25,000 games for 200 dollars
For $800 I'll sell you mine, lmao. That's more than they are worth. Maybe $600. I have $150 in my original one.
@@juleswebb8081 Oh god, its the "Raspberry Pi can play 20000 games for free" guy. Cancer...
They do not come in better shape than that one. You cannot find them like that anymore. The value of it is more of a 1500 to 3000 dollars. It is perfect.
For real. These dude scammers
3:18 This is an abomination and it drastically lowers the value of the cabinet as well. The "expert" is more of an eggspert.
2:40 scared the poop right outta me
That creep is a psychopath
Why are u scared of drew Barrymore
Wait I don’t get it
Maybe if the eyes opened outta nowhere
They don't mention it in the episode, but the girl in this game is Pauline, and this was not her only appearance in the series. Most notably, she's a main character in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series (which started with Donkey Kong on the Gameboy, often called Donkey Kong '94), and she even appeared as a pretty major character in Super Mario Odyssey.
And Donkey Kong is Mario's debut as Jumpman.
I LOVED Donkey Kong '94 as a kid. They expanded the basic concept to 10 themed worlds, 100 stages. Super fun game.
Lol 600 to 800. You won’t find it anywhere for that. The professional
Is a scam artist just like the pawn shop
Actually that's the going rate for an unrestored Donkey Kong.
@@MattyMosArcade this doesnt need to be restored tho. Its perfect
Mine was $675
@@holdendickerson1320 Unrestored doesn't mean it needs to be restored.
Yeah they're selling just the original control panel for these games for $200. You know if they would've bought it they would've put a $2000 price tag on it in the pawn shop
Used to play that for hours at the pub, it was built into the table that you all sit around with your pints of beer on top of it. It was multi player, no need to switch seats.
There has to be a huge market for these kind of original arcade game cabinets. given the great condition and the fact it's an OG of one of the most iconic games ever i'm sure the right person would be willing to spend at least $1500 for it. They're just as valuable and collectible as anything
It not all original they didn't even show serial number on back of the cabinet
When the expert says"its got an original joystick" but its obviously not.
Seller: I want 2.5K for my Donkey Kong game.
Correy: I'll give you 300 bucks and a banana.
3:18 "original joystick" then cuts to non original joystick, lmao.
show should be called "let me call a buddy of mine"
It shoukd be let's call joe bahama mama off the block
The condition sets it apart from other Donkey Kong arcades. This would be worth a couple grand to the right buyer, I trust.
That statement is actually false Mar DoggyO

Completely disrespectful how unknowledgeable that "expert" is. Embarrassing.

Mr Brown and Donkey Kong got along famously
Chris ray someone didn’t get along with mr. brown famously
Chris ray it will never get old.
"Do me a favor: go call Nick--he's in the next room, probably by the Craft service table."
The buttons, coin mech, and most importantly the Joystick the "Expert" said was "original" are all most definitely not.
The price the "expert" gave is lowballed a little bit but not ridiculously so, but he had no clue what he was talking about regarding that machine
Joystick ball topper is supposed to be black
@@AzrialAlaria The whole joystick is mounted with these 4 ridiculous bolts here.
Mario looked so weird at that era lol
el perro reggae it wasn’t mario
@@oldsoul9578 It was Mario. He just went by a different name "Jumpman" back then.
His name was actually jump man
It was the start of the cocaine era
Yes and no. The look of Mario was based on the Jumpman sprites. But it wasn't just a name change, their stories are different.
I question the professional's knowledge. I'm not a pro, but I can see some big things like it's not the original joystick and the jump button was replaced. It also looks like it's one of the later particle board cabinets. Even still, that was a complete low-ball price. $1000-$1500 is about where this would be in working condition.
I agree with u
These experts estimates are highly suspect. Pawn starts, cmon.
Show is fake
Corey's face looking at the room. 🤣
0:24 lol he was terrified.
Don’t sell it! That will be history one day!
“They’re not that rare to find”, and I’m guessing this “expert” either buys too many bootlegs or plays too much on either MAME/home console ports.
I couldn’t stop looking at the head behind Corey the whole time 😂
Dude wth, so I just went on ebay looked for one of these and the lowest one is like $1500 USD.. so my question exactly is.. why do people bring their stuff to these scammers? Just sell online
Rini The show has multiple list of different type of customers that wants to be on the show.. the customers are not random customers that walks in
I can list 1 for 5000 if I want. Doesn't mean I'll get it.
And how long has it been sitting on eBay?
Well, you pay eBay fees and then you have to ship it. There were many problems with the game including sideart and the control panel. Still, $800 value was bit low. I'm assuming the video was originally made around 2014 or so.
Horror room would be pretty cool considering you had twelve spare rooms to do things with lmao
the moment the expert said people want 60 to 400 games in one cabinet i lost it.
i guess no one wants the original game, and ONLY that game
lol this. In my case it was input delay specifically but I paid 800 for a TGM3 cabinet, but want it for the game as well.
That little for a Donkey Kong cabinet?!?!?!?!?
“Shigeru My-moto” god how is this guy supposed to be a professional
The expert: yes wow this is legit original Donkey Kong, so it's worth about 25$.
Rick: “DONKEY KONG AINT GOT NOTHING ON ME”
Still playing in 2020
Sometimes when these things are to good to be true, most of the time they are
Appreciate this was a few years back but today a fully restored one is listed 5k so taking into account inflation and the years past I think the 600-800 value was wholesale as opposed retail!
The $2500 the guy was asking was about right. $600-800 for an original DK machine? Not on this planet.
Pretty cool game. Would have thought it was more. Was fun to watch. Great video
600 to 800 I see other game cabinets that are not even old go for 1000 to 2000
glad he keep it
I’m so glad he knew his original name jump man too bad he didn’t know Pauline
I can't find any arcade box online for 600-800 dollars yet alone a classic Donkey Kong arcade system
I think the arcade game Splatterhouse would go great in that room.
This is an insult to the Donkey Kong community.
The few that come up on eBay sell for $2000 least. More in Europe. I just got mine in decent condition for $2000 and I've been sniping for one a long time. Very difficult to get hold of, at least in Europe.
not an original joystick or buttons but ok
also you can tell if its a bootleg or not literally by just looking if the game says Nintendo or not
Our family had on back in the 1980's.
Cool
My past is just that donkey kong
2:41
1:37 Shut up chum! 😂
Thank god he didn’t sell it to those parasite leeches.
😭😭😭😭mi remember this need someone new version
wow i was expecting the expert to value this pristine all original donkey kong arcade cabinet at like ~$20,000. even in my completely unknowledgeable position if i had $800 laying around i would pick this up on the spot for that much then try to resell it.
Your wife in the background can wake up now.
She wanted to get aHEAD in life.
Later in time it is now worth a lot more.
I'll give you a Tootsie roll for it. That's a huge risk for me.
That was low balling at its best he would get more out of that selling it himself
Legit would buy that thing for my top dollar being 5k. Donkey is my most favourite 1980s game.
It was my favorite to back in the day. The only thing I did not like about it was there was no ending to the game. The developers could finger out a ending for the game so it goes to the highest level and loops back around. I don't know if you seen the movie King of Kong check it out is a documentary on the game donkey Kong it's on Netflix.
You could buy more than one for 5k. The appraiser is correct they made lots of donkey kongs and now people make reproduction cabinets. 1200 and you could get a nicely restored one
Sometimes it do be like that 😔
There might be a lot of them, but how many will have a shape like this?
There are two types of DK Original, the blue and the Red. Each is a different version of DK Original,Red Older less technical, more rare "1,000 to $2,000". Blue, more updated (compared to the red) Not as rare (available any where not just ebay), "600 to 800". This is a Blue Cabinet Original, the expert is right about the pricing for this particular version of DK Original.
Information based on two national database pricing tables for all know arcade games and their current prices being purchased for. Updated 2019.
The sideart is missing on one side and the other one is messed up. Also, the "expert" improperly states that the joystick is original, which it's not. The whole control panel is borked. He also didn't check for the monitor burn-in.
He needs a splatterhouse arcade machine
I don’t think people realize that the seller can say no 😂
That guy is a serial killer lol
If I saw that demon board in anyone's home "im out of there "
Greatest troll award goes to Chumlee... "not quite what you were looking for..." 3:28
When he got slapped with that meth charge *walks up to chumlee* "not quite what you were looking for huh chum"
The original test market game was a Donkey, not Mario. Me and my brother both remember playing it at the local bowling alley. Then when we went back a few weeks later the game was different, it now had a guy instead of a Donkey. We were confused because it was still called Donkey Kong, but the Donkey was gone, it was weird and we never saw or heard about the "Donkey" in Donkey Kong again, we always just assumed it was a test or demo game.
I had Wrestlefest and sold it for $600. Wish I still had it.
- Joystick is not an original TKG-23-50. Should have a black ball top, smaller in diameter, and a clear dust cover, not a black one. What's shown is an aftermarket stick, bolted in from the top (which means that the control panel overlay has four holes drilled into it that shouldn't be there).
- Buttons not original: Jump button is yellow, should be orange. 1 and 2 player buttons are blue, but should be a darker navy shade.
- Coin mechs (the face plates at least) are not the original Asahi Seiko mechs.
- Coin box is painted blue, should be unpainted.
- Missing instruction sticker (should be on the black block under the bezel)
- Missing "Insert Coin" sticker (should be to the right of the speaker grill)
- He is correct to be looking for a "TKG" serial number on the PCB. Since it's the 2-board stack, should be "TKG-4-xx." That, however, only confirms that it's an original DK PCB. What he fails to do is check the serial plate on the back of the cabinet, which he would need to do in order to verify whether the cabinet itself was originally a DK or something else. (Could be a DK Junior or Popeye cabinet that was repainted.)
Overall, cab is in superb shape. T-molding and artwork look great. The monitor (the most important thing) looks like it may need some adjusting, but has no serious issues (foldover, jailbars, etc.) that would require new capacitors. Can't determine whether the sound amp needs work since the game audio can't be heard here. Joystick, control panel overlay, and instruction/coin stickers will need to be replaced with originals or reproductions, but those are easy to source.
The $600-$800 retail price given is very low even for when this was shot/aired, let alone at current prices, and the $300 offer from the shop is robbery. For a cabinet in this condition, the shop could have offered $1,000-$1,200 to this seller and more than doubled their money on a resale. To say that there's "really not much of a market" for video arcade games in original condition, particularly this one, is a bizarre statement. Original games are extremely valuable to collectors. While multi-cades sell to casual buyers, there is no substitute for original hardware, and collectors will pay for it. It's true that Nintendo made a ton of DKs, and they're not scarce, but it's also the case that out of all arcade games ever produced, DK is at the very top for the most sought-after. Supply is (relatively) high, but so is demand.
I give this segment a C+!
let me call an expert
When I was ball'n I brought a mint Astroids machine when I was a kid I loved that game I always wanted to have one in my game room (My wife didn't it sits outside in the California hot weather) for that price I rather let it rot
chum: "that's a lotta money for an old monkey"
1:32 UNTRUE pitfall had players jump across hazards many years before
It would be rarer still if it were a former Radar Scope cabinet.
imagine the XBox One being high valued 30 years from now. 2049
That's a thing that I'd like to buy
If one of these is $800, I will buy 10. Has anyone got one for sale?
Yeah...... for 2000 lol
800 dollars !! Not the currency where you are from
Yah 1600
I'll sell one to you for $1200, my grandparents have one and have been looking to sell it.
Should have asked me 2 months ago. I couldn’t give it away for $800. Sold for $700 in better shape than the one here.
Lmao what?! These go for $1,000 dollars or more easily.
Thats the guy that runs Fright Dome
Forget the arcade game. Let me get the warewolf head and Michael Myers, Chucky and leather face masks
Corey says my man a lot
Id save that for my great great great great great grandsons
When I was kid, we visited NYC. My brother and I stepped into an arcade (several, actually) and virtually all of the Pac-Man and Donkey Kong games were obvious bootlegs. In fact, the DKs were called "Krazy Kong" and the colors were way off. The Pac-Man games used the bell icon from the eleventh level as the actual Pac dude. It didn't have a moving mouth or anything. If felt very NY mob knock-off at the time. Incidentally, my brother and I used to think that the seventh/"lime" level was a hand grenade.
i’m trying to see if i can actually get it for that price. it’s about asking price on ebay
@trodan needs this
We gonna just ignore the beginning ?? 👀😂
Oakland Warrior 3011 what are you talking about??
In the 80s I spent all my lunch money on Donkey Kong 😛
2:52 i had a heart attack
300 to 400 I rather put it in storage or garage somewhere
I have one of these in my basement
When i was 9 years old, i got a gameboy with donkey Kong and i kept getting stuck and mad so i smashed the screen the next day so i owned a gameboy for only 36 hours haha
Corey is chums side kick.
I'd buy to for myself lol
