    Good video. Very clear and camera was steady and each step was easy to follow. Many youtuber's don't seem to realize the importance of camera stability. Thanks.

    yooo that is the smartest oil tray solution ever......why have I never thought of it. Screw paying $30 for a fancy one, that one makes disposal super easy and is free.

      yeah, although a bit small for catching the initial down-pour, not sure exactly where it's going to go until it goes...
      It's good to have some "area" to that catch pan..

    Thank you Zsinor for the very informative how-to walkthrough. I have a 1.8 Lancer and will be carrying out both an oil and air filter change shortly. I have one question, I guess it is a requirement to have 5L of oil, as oil tank holds 4L and the filter accepts 0.3L?
    Thanks

      Chris Mazur were you really able to remove filter by hand?

    • @joshuahhhhhh
      @joshuahhhhhh 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Migs FDO if you can’t remove it by hand and don’t have a tool you can always puncture the filter with a Philips screwdriver and turn it with that to get more torque. Try to get as close to the end of the old filter as possible when you puncture it.

      @@mgs7988 you should be able to unless you have girlie hands the filter is small enough to wrap your hand around it just wear some gloves gives you more grip

    • @cmtrend7946
      @cmtrend7946 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the oil.
      Fully synthetic oil last up to 10k -15k
      Semi synthetic 7k-10k before you change oil.
      While the regular oil last up to 5k only .

    Just a quick question do we have to get the oil change details and date into a report like when it was done at how many kms, do we need to change anything in the car system to let it know the change was done?

    • @adolfilyichmarx9589
      @adolfilyichmarx9589 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on your car and your proclivities but what I like to do is just write the date and the miles on a piece of the box my filter comes in and keep it somewhere handy as a reminder. 3 months 3000 miles is just a simple rule of thumb I follow on my car.

    Is 10w40 castrol oil ok for the 2008 1.5 engine in the lancer?

    • @Michael-uo4jj
      @Michael-uo4jj 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No you should follow the oil type in manual and on the hood 5w20 or 0w20 for 2010+ unless the engine is modified for 2008 Mitsubishi OEM is mobil1 but brands can be changed
