You are far more articulate than you think honestly; your way of portraying ideas, specifically when you go in depth about the different perspectives of reading, is very profound for only four or so months of reading. Keep it up bro, its nice to see someone actually have true passion for reading now, not just mass-producing videos for money/views.
thnk you so much! my biggest fear was coming off artificial, im happy youre seeing some authenticity in my videos! i am also very reserved and have a speech impediment, so hearing peole say i am articulate is HUGE!
Books are basically the internet before the internet. you can read peoples ideas, opinions, hopes, dreams, ramblings, social theories etc etc from the last 2000 years
Your mom and dad are active readers... Your aunt is a poet... I knew your sharpness for art didn't come out of nowhere, i imagine i'd be soo cool growing up in such environment, and even though you just started reading, you have such an articulated way of voicing your ideas! I've been reading for like three years now and cant share thoughts so clearly like you do. You are an inspiration!
thank you so much for the kind words! i was definitley blessed with peole around me that were into the arts! just took me a little to realize it in myself!
“I have lived a thousand lives and I've loved a thousand loves. I've walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time. Because I read.” - George R.R Martin!!
this book had me standing up and smiling the same way you described how it was reading dorian gray. I already love reading but you just made me love reading even more. I love hearing you talk about literature and how raw and inspired your thoughts are :) happy new year dante
You just popped up in my algorithm and listening to you talk about a newfound joy in reading is so inspiring. I've been a reader my whole life and I love seeing people come to the hobby, and your enthusiasm is infectious! Definitely subscribing. Excited to watch your literary journey.
I'm a philosophy major in college, and I've had a really complicated relationship with reading since I started to pursue my academic and career aspirations, since they both require SO MUCH detail-oriented reading. Sometimes I've grown tired of it as a hobby, sometimes it's all I've done for 6-month stretches of time. I think I've recently had another reading kick, and this one feels like it's going to stick around for longer. I think reading is such an entertaining form of media, and definitely more stimulating for me than the movies and yt videos I grew up on. Getting addicted to prose is so fulfilling, and it makes me so happy to see other people discover it!
This is fantastic. You're obviously a passionate, thoughtful and articulate person. Your reading journey will serve you well. I'm 53 now, and have always been a reader, despite growing up in a household of non-readers. I read throughout grade school, high school and university, and never stopped afterwards. I recently was 'downsized' from a position I held for 30+ years, and one of the few things that keeps me hanging on is my daily reading. I honestly can't imagine not reading. I look forward to hearing more about your reading journey; what you're reading, and how it's changing you. Cheers. p.s. Philosophy Degree here. Rare to hear someone on Kierkegaard. That's heavy material. Bravo.
14:50 omg this is so powerful, losing my grandmother shifted my view on life & time so much, grief is complicated but THIS, this is something that I’ll hold forever. Thank you so much for sharing that🤍
I love your passion and the way you communicate and share your joy of reading. Have you ever thought of becoming a college professor or a high school teacher? You would have the kids hanging on your every word.
Brady mentioned!🗣 I love that finding Brady’s content had such an impact on you and your reading journey. I hope he starts posting on TH-cam because I just deleted TikTok haha Anyways, your passion is palpable!! That’s what keeps me coming back every single time. I hope your videos end up inspiring others to read more. If anyones reading this, get a library card! It may seem like reading is an expensive hobby but it doesn’t have to be! 💛
Wauw, your passion is intoxicating. Great respect for wanting to become a creative director, but man, you could be a great pastor as well. Or teacher. You articulated the importance of reading so well, and you're so humble. "Art is energy, it can only be converted, it will never stop" wow dude. This is an awesome video
thank you so much for the kind words! i dont know if my speech is powerful enough to be in front of crowds like they are but hopefully i will get there!
I’m still trying to get back into reading after starting my 9-5 last year. This video really gave me the courage to keep up with my goal, even if it’s a paragraph or five pages. I love reading, and I really don’t want to lose that love for it completely!!!
I don't comment too much on videos, but wanted to thank you for posting this. Your enthusiasm is infectious. I've been trying to get into reading the past few days and am having trouble. This video has inspired me a ton. Thanks so much.
Your passion is so contagious!!! You have very quickly become my favorite person to listen to discuss books/reading. Your love for it comes across so genuinely that after your videos I am sooo hungry to read!!!
Love your videos! And I totally agree with your thoughts about why books are so important and a great gift to us all.🙌🏽 Hope to see more videos from you 🙏🏽
6:46 bro i kid you not, i randomly picked up a book to read out of my moms hundreds of books and it was this one. this is before i even heard of your channel. i read a few pages and but i haven’t touched it in a week or so and now i hear you say this. it’s gotta be divine intervention telling me to read man. or maybe im just trippin its 2am
Love the realness ❤ I read the picture of dorian gray for my first book of the year after watching your other video. Was sat on my shelf for years, so thankyou 👌
Just found your channel today and had to watch all your videos. It’s meant a lot to hear that the bell jar meant so much to you as it’s often discredited to only being for ‘sad teenage girls’ I really recommend you read cormac mccarthy if you haven’t already, for his subjects on fate, religion, and overall bleak atmosphere.
My nephews and nieces were complaining because there was an Internet outage a couple years back. I had to introduce them to stephen kings “misery”. A good book library, film and music collection is all you need. Physical copies.
Dorian Gray is ah-making~ (what did you think of chapter 11, that was a little bit of a drag if I remember). I suggest Crime and Punishment next, or We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson. Currently I’m into Japanese and Korean novellas. I love your passion of reading!!
I saw in your first video that you loved "sad" books with themes of loneliness and alienation. I think No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai is a perfect book for you. I definitely need to warn you that there are very drak/serious themes and events that happen in the story but i think you will love the book. Its a fictional story but its kind of an autobigaraphy because it is based on Osamu Dazais own life. Also keep up the great work i love your vids
I have the illustration novel of Dorian grey ❤it. It’s on pause because I am also reading Dracula and the wizard of Oz and I am still reading the wager which I highly recommend to you and killers of the flower moon. Also check out John Iriving his writing is phenomenal.
lol i started with brothers karamazov and yea i felt illiterate as shit for like 150 pages but i figured id start with something difficult to brute force into it and now im loving it!
3:50 You said Waldo because there is another great American writer named Ralph Waldo Emerson. Their names are easy to mix up, haha. You should def read both!
how do you track your books? if you do at all, I use Goodreads, if you do have a Goodreads acc I would love to follow because the books you read are so much fun to hear about!
Reading is the bare minimum, you literally need the basic fundamentals of reading to live in this world. If you have to force people to read or do the bare minimum like using their brain, it’s just not there.
I was a huge reader when I was younger, but by the end of middle school and definitely through high school, school itself really took a hit to my passion for it, and I've been trying to regain that passion for the past few years. I'll read a book or three a year, but I really want to get back into how I was before, getting so involved and finishing books in a day or so. One that really moved me recently was Song of Solomon, I felt very changed after reading... Also Annihilation did the same. Life often gets in the way, being busy with work or school or family and all that, but it's worth it to carve out a little time for yourself to immerse yourself in a book. Your passion is palpable, I can hear and feel it through the screen. Love it, let's all try our best to become better readers
thank you for being so vulnerable and passionate i think that’s the best way to help others find the same feeling! i love to read but i always fall asleep after a few pages lol and struggle to pick up books even though i like to, do you have any advice? also i just finished the stranger by albert camus too!

I fuck wit ur style of videos. Not too edited and real is all I need. Reading is a life changer fr glad some people can see that in these times
thank you fam!
I love the return to reading movement from the younger generation
Your mom and dad are active readers... Your aunt is a poet... I knew your sharpness for art didn't come out of nowhere, i imagine i'd be soo cool growing up in such environment, and even though you just started reading, you have such an articulated way of voicing your ideas! I've been reading for like three years now and cant share thoughts so clearly like you do. You are an inspiration!
Also I noticed you barely use filler words!!
thank you so much for the kind words! i was definitley blessed with peole around me that were into the arts! just took me a little to realize it in myself!
@@lourdes6222 i cant take all the credit for this haha, i edit alot of the dead space out!

“I have lived a thousand lives and I've loved a thousand loves. I've walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time. Because I read.” - George R.R Martin!!
wow, i wish i wouldve seen this quote beforehand - i wouldve put it into the video!

thank you so much! (also was jumping up and down reading dorian gray)
Your passion is so palpable and inspiring
thank you so much for the kind words! i wish you the best of luck on your journey and hope to see you share some thoughts of your own!!

im glad the vulnerability led to this comment! thank you!
I love your passion and the way you communicate and share your joy of reading. Have you ever thought of becoming a college professor or a high school teacher? You would have the kids hanging on your every word.
