    Mmmm...Here's a thought. Why not build a shuttlecraft for this ship? One that goes in that hanger at the back? As far as things go, though, I'd also like to see a developed carrier craft with small assault/interception craft designed to go with it. Just thoughts.

    • @CMTechnica
      @CMTechnica 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Without proper scale, I'd think that hangar at the back would be too small for a proper shuttle

    It's kind of weird watching someone design and build a ship from the outside going in. I'm the kind of builder that is constantly removing things from my builds until i distill it down to the absolute minimum number of blocks necessary and not a single one more. That requires me to place all the functional things first then add only enough armor to fill in the gaps to make it air-tight, a building from the inside out approach if you will.
    Watching someone greeble to me is like watching someone perform alchemy, i don't get how they can do it but i do enjoy watching.

    • @Stonecargo21
      @Stonecargo21 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't understand how someone can just know what size the ship has to be, I tried making a ship and realized it about half the size it has to be

    I had a scifi design for a ship that had a similar rear engine layout, except without the lower ones. In mine, there was a small hangar and a half-hangar/half-landing pad below it for an aux craft. The upper hangar, however, was designed for drones (either exploration or combat, the ship was designed to be multirole by payload), which would fly out in a compact configuration before deploying into whatever they need to be once they clear the engines. This would keep them safe from gunfire, especially given how the ship was meant to engage, and it kept a fairly clean area in which to line up for landing. This design reminds me of that, and I imagine a destroyer would carry drones for reconnaissance or support, since they tend to hunt larger ships solo or in small packs.

    watched a few of these, you have an interesting method of design, blocking out the rough size and shape in the way a sculptor might then adding details and carving away interior space. I wonder how you arrived at that method. I tend to start at the bow or stern and build the whole armor conveyor network, and thrusters as I go forward or back.
    I also note you don't use any DLCs, I'm guessing to make each ship accessible to everyone on the workshop who may not have them?

    Ur designs are the best for one simple reason, you use hydrogen thrusters, the only kind that does not feel like cheating in the game, i wish the devs made atmo thrusters need fuel and ion some wireing and xenon gas so they are not just the optimal option all the time.

    • @robopenguin5501
      @robopenguin5501 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They aren’t optimal thrust is so bad compared to hydrogen and they are weirdly shaped. They are also heavy. A hydrogen ship will always be faster

    To Make A Ship Have As Much Power Efficiency (None is wasted) and Use All Of it’s Space Efficiently whilst having as much Firepower as possible. This wouldn’t be the most efficient disign as it has unnecessary detail and Wasted Space.
    Cheap,Reliable,expendable,strong, durable,fast,accurate and many more features are required within a ship.

  • @talinpeacy7222
    @talinpeacy7222 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Looks like a fairly straightforward heavy escort and patrol craft. The high focus on point defense weapons and relatively heavy armor plating should lend it well to guard duty with the space for a light fighter to scout the area.
    Perhaps I missed it, but it seems to lack a jump drive or med bay which will make isolating it easier but so long as it sticks to a guard role, this can be compensated for. It doesn't seem to have much braking thrust which can make it easier to pull it out of position and the rear seems to have a few armor gaps at it's relative underside that could be exploited to quickly cut over half it's engine's conveyor lines and damage the more exposed thrusters with some focused fire.
    Still, the core of the ship looks rugged and the set up lends it well to handling lots of smaller craft. It's rear thrust looks like it could get up to a respectable speed for reaching nearby hotspots or running down fleeing ships if needed. It would be a decent work horse for a large group when paired with a logistics ship and a sister ship to give it the range and support needed to operate independently.
