    Awesome Joe! Going to do this on my 2015 Z/28. I always had to put in or pull out the fuse. This will make thing so much easier.

    Exactly right, i had the fused pulled on my Camaro NPP so it was always opened. My electrician at work is a car enthusiast he told me he could make a switch to control it, so i showed him the mild2wild and he made me 1 charged me $30 also said he could have made one that works like the old type of foot control high beam botton on rhe floor. What a cool dog i could hug that guy all day i had a boxer that color once.

    This is super cool! I have a Camaro and decided to just pull my fuse cause I got sick of the valves closing even in track mode when low in gear. I might just have to give this a try

    Why every bypass for NPP dial exhaust is to make it loud (track mode) all the time or via a remote. I want something to put it in stealth mode on start up. The setting menu, no matter which mode it defaults too, alway the loudest or track mode on startup.

    • @Viper3870750
      @Viper3870750 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man, in case you haven't found an answer to this question in 2yrs, I have one for ya. As you already know, if you put your car in stealth mode then start the car, it'll be loud initially for a few seconds before it closes the valves. If you'd like to start your car up in stealth mode so it's quiet immediately, you'll first need to hold the start/stop button for 6 seconds without your foot on the brake (auto) or foot on the clutch (manual) in order to turn on the Accessories mode. Once the car is in Accessories mode, you can then start the car as normal and it will immediately start up in quiet mode. This is due to the car opening the valves during the shut down sequence when you turn the car off. Once the car has power going to it is when it'll recognize the exhaust mode you have it set to. Cheers!

    For the white wire that you plug into the tap-a-fuse - would I do any damage if I use one of the fuse builder kits that allow me to solder a wire to it, but it plugs into both terminals of the fuse? Would I be doing any damage if the white wire is plugged into both sides of the fuse?

    Is there a way to wire in a manual switch to any of the remaining wires on the module? I'd prefer this to the remote. If I could use both that would be sweet too!

    • @BostonJoe620

      Been a while since I wired one but I can’t see why you couldn’t also wire I switch in as well. One of the ones always used to like is the foot operated switch located on the floor.

    hey man. i have a 2012 camaro ss without the factory NPP. if i were to install a NPP system, i know all of the other things i would need, such as the vacuum related components, but i had an electrical question: since i don’t have the factory NPP, i don’t think i have the fuse for the system to open and close. i am fine with it being all the way closed or all the way open in 2 different modes (i don’t need “closed” to function like factory). how would i go about wiring up the kit if i don’t have that fuse to pull? i just want it all the way open or all the way closed. thanks!

  • @drumastr4

    I just bought a 13 base, and it seems to have the npp system on it. Sadly there is no remote. Do you think the one in this video will work?

    • @BostonJoe620
      @BostonJoe620  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. Definitely. You would only have a remote if someone modified the stock NPP. You can pull the fuse and the NPP will stay open even without a remote.

  • @AhmedIqbalIK_BAHL

    Hey man! i wanna connect dougcutout to my stock NPP system. Is that something doable?

    • @SteevK69
      @SteevK69 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stock NPP is exactly what this is for. The remote gives you a quick fuse-pull (beyond track mode - valves always wide open) or switch back to use the screen or console mode button for stealth thru track modes...

    Hi I purchased the module. I have a 2019 and the prongs that fit into the fuse box are too wide. I would require a different prong size with the wire attached. Any ideas where to get this? Thanks

    • @BostonJoe620
      @BostonJoe620  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most auto parts stores will have the fuse taps. The C7 must use a different fuse micro vs mini blade fuses. Also I just looked up the C7 fuses and it shows two fuses, one for each exhaust valve so see if someone on TH-cam has done this to a C7 to see the differences. Good luck my friend!!

    • @michaellachance6617
      @michaellachance6617 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BostonJoe620 As far as I can tell. Only one fuse. Will have to find the right link. Thanks

    • @Viper3870750
      @Viper3870750 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man, just in case you haven't figured this out yet, you'll need to get a Micro 2 fuse tap. The C7s use that style of fuse for our exhaust fuse #42 under the hood.

    Is it possible to program the remote to the Homelink controller if I don't want to carry another remote?

    • @BostonJoe620
      @BostonJoe620  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great idea! I’m gonna give it a try. I actually just leave one of the fobs in the car in the spot where the lighter goes.
      Some years have a different type of controller other than homelink so it may work on some and not others. I was unable to program my garage door but on my pickup it works.

    Great information, thank you for sharing Joe. I have a base model 05 C6 that I got last year for dirt cheap that i'm playing with. I recently ordered long tubes and catless xpipe and knowing how loud its going to be I picked up a 2nd hand set of Z06 bimode exhaust. The downside is because my system wasn't setup for it I need the NPP in a box mod which currently goes for $200. Any chance you'd have info on making one of those? Seems like the kit uses some of this as well as tapping a vacuum hose in it but not sure what everything else consist of, either way thanks for the incite on this mod.

      I have a '17 2SS Hyper-blue NPP, MRC, nav, sunroof. I blued out the "SS" logos and hood vents, so I like my Stealth mode sometimes - to fly under the radar...

    Just a note to those with a C7. The C7 NPP fuse 42 is a micro fuse. It needs an APT, ATR micro 2 fuse and socket, not ATM. The part in this video is a minim and it will not fit the C7. When you go on eBay search for APT or ATR and add a Fuse. I bought one from a Hong Kong seller for $2.83 with free China packet shipping. My fault, Joe did not know as he did a C6 and I did not look before buying my C7 (actually bought this on Amazon before I picked up the car). BTW, if you have a C6 and want the one I bought, send me a PM and pay the postage. I am just going to cut it off and replace with the micro.

    Honestly, don’t care about 70 bucks, and it took about 20 minutes to install.

    On the C6's, all you have to do is unplug the fuse that controls the exhaust. I removed my fuse the day I bought the car. Been running it open ever since.
