Whoops, I think I half mentioned about my upcoming photography tour with Ian in the Lake District (I was supposed to cut that out!). Anyway, the tour is available to book now here if you are interested: www.henryturnerphotography.co.uk/photography-tours/p/lake-district-photography-tour. I'll probably talk a bit more about it in an upcoming video! Also, my brand new prints page is now up and running on my website here: www.henryturnerphotography.co.uk/lake-district-photography-prints Thanks a lot for watching and, as always, thank you so much for all your support 👍🏻🙏🏼
As a midwesterner from the States, I am happy to be part of the "yous lot" that watches your videos to the end! I love the adventures you take us on, and the lovely photos you share. Also, you are wise to be cautious around cows! I was attacked by a dairy cow and it was no joke! She hated people, and I was new at the dairy so she singled me out. Lifted me off the ground, like a bull. The day she charged the herd manager was her last day at the farm. Most cows are nice, but always be wary!
A friend was helping his dad guide some cattle through a loading ramp / chute onto a truck. One didn't want to get on the truck and charged his dad, who promptly picked up a section of pine 2x4 and broke it over the cow's face. The cow stepped back, shook her head (with blood pouring of our her nose) and then decided it was a better idea to peacefully get on the truck. His dad said, "Sometimes you have to get their attention." LOL
Here’s an idea for a video… my wife is disabled and so car bound when we are out with the camera gear. It would be great if you could recommend places to park and photograph from
How can you not watch your videos to the end ???????? I mean just look at it, stunning landscape, beautiful light, 4 seasons in a day and on top of that a mad photographer running around like a crackpot !! Perfect 👍.
Love the cow on the dash. I have a stuffed animal my daughter gave me that I carry in every vehicle I have owned and it went with me to Iraq and Afghanistan during my military deployments. Thanks again for the inspirational videos.
Whilst landscape is not my genre of main pursuit, it doesn’t stop me from enjoying it through the eyes of others. Your channel Henry as always offers an energetic outlook on your adventures out, I see places I don’t see myself, live vicariously through your eyes and lens and I enjoy listening to your discussions too.
So picturesque, the light was kicking off big time. Beautiful! Even right to the end, it was hanging around until you hopefully made your way down ok. Bag of crisps well earned there Henry!
I was hoping that barn would put in an appearance and then there it was. Beautiful! 🙂I always stick around to the end because I just never know what you'll get up to. And you take me to places I wouldn't get to otherwise. Thank you for sharing your beautiful country!
The last and only once that we went to the Lake District was in 1973 and it rained for the whole of the 7 days we were there but guess what it was Troutbeck that we went to and we camped there too! we managed to walk to the top of one of those hills (they are hills in the Lake District, Mountains in Scotland) in the end with four little kids with two moms and dads we gave up and had to go home the weather beat us! We have not been back since! Thank you for sharing your day with us!
Henry don't worry about the cows, just walk confidently like you would amongst people in the street. Everyone subtly gets out of everyone else's way by weaving about. Only if the cattle are milling around in a bunch in a tight area do you need to skirt around them in case they bump into you. Easy for me to say because I was brought up on a farm. I think you can still prioritise composition if shooting monochrome. But what you've got here is beautiful soft golden hour dappled light without harsh contrast, and then the light really is the composition. Love your photos and envy you getting that sort of treat in the sensible-sized Lakeland landscape.
Henry - this is you at your very best - a beautiful walk in the Lakes, cracking photography, and your unflinching will to do well. Have a great Christmas - and thanks for all the entertainment over the years!
What, no signature double-take on the sheep? You're letting us down Henry. Fun fact: I proposed to my then girlfriend on Hart Crag almost exactly 33 years ago. Come January we will have been happily married for 32 years.
I do NOT miss a Henry VLOG!!! I watch your work from start to finish and I do not miss a video. Always enjoy your ups and downs and success and failures. How many wainwright peaks have you completed and how many left to complete. When you do the last Wainwright you need to have a big bash. I'd fly to the U.K. FOR THAT!!! Keep on going Henry
Photography is the art of capturing light. Lots of familiar places in this video. I was raised on a farm, milked cows from aged ten - Knowing the breeds will help you out - Top Tip: never enter a field with a Jersey Bull. Avoid some of the frisky looking beef steers - only had trouble once as 'A Cow Whisperer' and that was walking by Dunstanburgh Castle in Northumberland. A 100% dangerous bullock.
Great video Henry. That short burst of light must have made the whole trip worthwhile for you. Always watch from start to finish and many times watch more than once. Now going to watch your latest "live" video.
Hi Henry, thanks for another grand day out. Once you'd got through the bovine congestion, I have to say that's got to be one of the most "composition rich" areas you've explored in your videos. As ever photography is the intersection of light, subject and composition .. and varying just one can make such a difference .. not necessarily better or worse, but different. This one was a real joy to watch ... and thanks for another year of grand days out before everyone starts with the Xmas messages ;-)
Henry, I am another “Yank” that stays to the end of your videos. I just love your matter of fact approach and art/content. Just keep snapping buddy, you have a following here…. I used to live in the UK for a few years and miss it dearly. Hoping someday to make it back over and would love to hang a day and take a walk with you…. Thanks for all your “work” this year and wishing you the best for 2025…
I'm one of the viewers from ten years ago . Ten years on and still going strong . I'd love to start a channel up but I'm not very good in front of a camera. Keep up the fantastic work
Seeing you rush to get that first image reminds me of a time I was driving north on the Million Dollar Highway in the San Juan mountains of Colorado. It was cloudy and as I rounded a curve I saw the most gorgeous composition on a large peak with dappled sunlight across it. I immediately got on the brakes and pulled over as quick as I could, jumped out of the car and started shooting. I only got two or three images and the light was gone. Turned out to be the best photo of the entire trip.
Another fun filled, enthusiastic and adventure packed video, Henry! Thank you for taking us along Dove Vale and up another Wainwright. Such beautiful scenery! I saw many pics I‘d like to have taken. You are so lucky to live close by.🇦🇺😊
One of the Five Percenters here. Here for the ride every week from start to end. Got a good laugh out of this one with your memory card filling up with the shutter button pressed down in your bag. Haha, quality. Looks like an absolutely top notch stroll too, though.
The cows! I did that walk a few months ago and there were about 20 by the farmhouse and gate. And they were agitated. I had to climb over a barbed wire fence to get through. After that it is a lovely walk.
the light was stunning henry such stunning country one of my current projects of mine is to come over and photograph the nature in Britain and ireland and northern ireland since i have bought a campervan myself good stuff keep it going mate
Had to pause as it is waaay past bedtime. A couple of thoughts on Landscapers being predominately retired males. Males are more into gear, women are generally happy with phone shots. Retired people have substantially more time for photography. I've been into landscape photography since I was in my 20s but was too busy. Now that I'm retired I can spend a lot more time on photography. Generalisations, obviously. 😉
Wow, Henry, what a beautiful playground you live in!!! It must be nice to be young! I'm 70 years old and you cover more area in one trip than what I cover in 6 months! I would have back at the barn taking pictures of the trees and beautiful meadows!!! I always view the videos to the end!!! It hurt my feelings when you walked away from the sun rays with only the drone photo!!!!😢 All your photos looked great, but I saw so many other photos that could have been taken along the way!!!😳👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🇺🇸
Another great video Henry, I have never been out and just chasing the light & taking shots of where ever it lands. I too have left my camera on, but mine goes to sleep, so just uses a bit of battery. Just comment from an 67 year old, retired male in South Somerset 😁😁
What is it with photographers on TH-cam and their aversion to dealing with COWS? Cows with guns, it’s only a song 😂 Photography, we are definitely at the mercy of the light. Thanks for sharing again Henry. 71/214 🇦🇺
Great video thanks. I have the OM-5 and am thinking of a super wide zoom for landscape trips to the Lakes. Any recommendations? Portability and ideally weatherproofing important.. what is your go to lens?
I agree with the demographics of photographers comment. I am in my 30's, and have been into photography since my early 20's. However I do feel like I'm struggling to break out into something more proffessional because it seems very clicky with the older generation., which seem to be the primary age groups.
Interesting taking a wide angle in portrait. Something I need to explore. Have you ever considered trying a sigma 150-600. Joe Cornish made a nice video on this. I have one for wildlife and sports, but its soooo heavy!!!
Great video! Why keep your camera buried in your bag? Seems very inconvenient to stop, take the bag off and search for your camera when you're only getting short windows of good light.

@@lphilpot01 Wow--that could have escalated things! Glad she decided it wasn't worth the fight!
@@lphilpot01 On my father in laws farm, he carried a steel pipe for the very same reason…

Another great video Henry, those cows have got me in the moo’d for some wildlife photography this weekend.
Herd that before Michael.

Great video. I learned in photography school that photograph literally means "writing with light." It is all about the light...

Great video Henry. Loved the picture at 24:00 I would never have thought to take that picture between the two slabs of rock. Great vision

Well, of course I watch your videos to the end, how could I not? I love the beautiful light rays near the end of the video btw! So stunning!
Thank you Elly!

What a fantastic walk.

Great image's as usual.
Catch you on the next one
Great video Henry loved the chat and the valley is just stunning 😍

Thanks once more Henry for giving us another great video the light towards the end of video was amazing, and worth the effort of your walk
I love your enthusiasm! Nice pictures in this one!
Thanks Henry for sharing another great video.. great results with use of light.. cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😮
I find your video's very informative Henry, - I am a believer that composition is in the eye of the photographer and sometime we get it just right
Another fun filled, enthusiastic and adventure packed video, Henry! Thank you for taking us along Dove Vale and up another Wainwright. Such beautiful scenery! I saw many pics I‘d like to have taken. You are so lucky to live close by.🇦🇺😊
Loving this video Henry. One of your best.
Another great video and some cracking results. Enjoyed the view.
Excellent as always Henry
Another great video Henry, you so full of live 😊
Fantastic video with fantastic light! Very entertaining.

Best video in ages Henry great combination of Lakeland, light, crack & images 👍
Great stuff Henry! I always make sure that I have plenty of time to watch your videos through to the end
I appreciate that!
Enjoyed your video, you got great bursts of light, scenery is beautiful

Gorgeous!! Love the one with the grasses and rocks.
that was a top drawer video, Henry! Love the excitement when the light broke at the barn. And, yes... cows are damned intimidating.
Try kayaking in the canal with 4 panicking cows. Absolute nightmare 😂
Another triffik video Henry, and I love the banter. Nice to see the Backlight 26 back in action after I took your advice and bought one. Atb👍🏻
Great video, stunning location and conditions. Just looks epic.
The cows! I did that walk a few months ago and there were about 20 by the farmhouse and gate. And they were agitated. I had to climb over a barbed wire fence to get through. After that it is a lovely walk.
Thanks for taking us with you on your Dove Crag hike. Just added that to my list. Enjoyed your video.
Another cracking video Henry
What a great video, fantastic views….. I always watch to the end!

Another nice adventure video! We were honestly pumped to hear you're also enjoying our socks! They rarely leave our feet anymore... 😆
Yikes! I bet they're minging.
Well Henry, some more good shots of the fells with some fantastic light.....great shots too.
Going Back in the dark with those cows must have been fun. ;) great video and amazing scenery. Cheers.

Great video topic, I am also one of the “yous lot” as always very watchable to the end, thanks for the entertaining content.
excellent show! Go for the light!
Nice picture mate all sorts of weather kicking in

That photo of the barn in it very nice
Long video, but love the scenery.
Great images and good luck with the cows on the way down in the dark ;)
Hi Henry, another great video, do you have any recommendations for Drone insurance?
I use Photoguard mate
You’re not alone Henry, I’m not just wary of cows I’m scared stiff 🤣
I know what you mean mate…i dont like cows either…come across quite a few on my photography hikes…!
New pair of socks for christmas then 🤣🤣🤣
That's just lovely views!
How do I get a calendar?
Hi mate, there are a few left vis this link: www.henryturnerphotography.co.uk/2025-calendar/p/2025-landscape-photography-calendar
Great video! Why keep your camera buried in your bag? Seems very inconvenient to stop, take the bag off and search for your camera when you're only getting short windows of good light.
OY!!! Female! Always stick around to the end (ok, confess to retired…..)
😊👍🏻👏🏻

Whoops, I hate to describe myself as no2 but ther it is. Stunning views H.
Whoop 1st. Hi Henry.
