"Gnossienne 3 (Tientos)", an original composition by Miguel Blanco and performed by Arturo O'Farrill and Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, along with guest artist Antonio Lizana (vocals & sax), at Symphony Space for "Musica Nueva 6" on May 3rd, 2013.
The program featured the brass band traditions in the New World, including the Banda music of Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and other Latin American countries and also examined lesser-known sub-genres of Spanish music. The evening featured new works composed by Papo Vazquez, Pablo Mayor, Miguel Blanco, Arturo O'Farrill and Adam O'Farrill and included performances by guest artists Cristina Pato, Antonio Lizana, Ximo Tebar and others. In addition, in partnership with Symphony Space, the Orchestra presented a new co-commissioned work by Papo Vazquez that focuses on the Latino contribution to the Harlem Renaissance.

Je m'étonne toujours de la qualité des reprises, sans doute parce qu'elles sont réalisées avec amour de les interpréter, donc avec art, ce mystérieux langage de l'âme. Vraiment merci pour cette musique et je me doute un peu que si Erik Satie devait l'écouter dans sa tombe, il en pleurerait... de joie.

vraiment très très belle poursuite de cette gnossienne Satienne que j'afectionne, la plus belle selon moi. Le pianiste et le saxe s'accordent magnifiquement. QUant à la voix de Lizana elle est surréaliste. Great music, thank you for the open eyes dream

Yes. Fire the video editor, never hire again. What's with all the sloppy camera movement? Fire cam operators too. And no mic on the darbukka? Sorry, I'm musician, percussionist, audio tech and vid editor. No free pass on this one. But beautiful rendition of the piece is the saving grace. Nicely done.
