Why does everyone make Parasect a ghost/bug type? The Bug is the part that's dead. The Mushroom is alive. If you're gonna give it Ghost typing, Grass/Ghost makes much more sense.
@@RBYPokemonChallenges mushrooms are represented by the grass type. See Breloom, Shiinotic, Amoongus, etc. Just as Magma isn't fire, it's just molten rock, yet Slugma is not a rock type. Pokemon operates on a system of "close enough."

Should definetely try Alolan Marowak one of these days with boost to attack for invisible thick club use or Hydregion from 5th gen final boss team. Keep it up man, I'm coming back to Slovenia was able to earn my way to my ticket all while taking care of my family, hope you, your wife and baby are doing great
Yeah, I think we can make the "thick club" boost by just changing it's base stats in a pretty simple ROM Hack. It would be really interesting to have that MArowak run Swords Dance and sweep everything with the minimal setup.
Honestly have not had time to watch any Paraspectre. But he's welcome to come at me, if I become a Ghost I will be more powerful that anyone has ever imagined lol
@@RBYPokemonChallenges In a minimum battles solo playthrough? (And maybe a Brock Skip) I think some pokemon with better typings but a far worse moveset might be in trouble. Golbat has a terrible moveset probably needs a lot of confusion strats to manage to kill opponents with Psychic moves and smart AI like Koga in Yellow or Sabrina in Red/Blue (not sure about Sabrina but I rewatched your no TM Yellow playthrough against Koga and it seems pretty hard on a lower level even if you get Hyper Beam. Also the rivals Alakazam might be pretty hard. Beedril has better speed than Parasect but worse defensive Stats and struggles because it can't use spore or Growth to build a slow defense. So it has to be lucky with a SD Set up and needs to one hit a lot. Its speed might make it possible though I'm not sure. Electrode has only normal and electric attacks so at least in yellow it has to use/mimic Double team against Giovanni. (Or maybe it is able to prove me wrong with Hyper Beam, Reflect and Sub or something like that). But with sonic boom against brock and the Hiker it may be able to win the game without a glitch. I think overall I still go with Golbat as the worst fully evolved. It has okay stats and is not as bad at it seems, but Idk, on minimum battles the moveset seems to bad to win against some opponents without very much luck with confusion. In your video you used Double team what I consider much more than Bide what Parasect needed. (Not trying to argue with your list there, but when it's about which pokemon I consider worse, a pokemon that have problems with more opponents but uses the same Broken TM to handle all of them instead of needing one for only one or a few opponents, the first broken TM breaks more opponents and is more broken in this regard) And Double team is that type of move that breaks every trainer unless you are getting onehit by the first pokemon when it's faster.
We're 10 months behind you! And since your Daughter is Eevee, my son might need to pick up a Pikachu as his Kanto starter... LOL Hope your kiddo is doing great as well!
Parasect is almost on par with Gengar as a ghost bug type, with 2 set up moves and spore too. The only thing that typing can't solve is that low speed, despite having a fun early game for a change. What is even more legendary is Katsumasa, because his charm is definitely a super effective move😂😂😂.
Agreed! Ghost/Bug would have been really OP with sleep and Swords Dance even without the speed, but the badge boost glitch helps a lot!. Kacchan is perfecting Charm, Milk Drink, but also knows Sonic Boom, and is working now on Rollout
Agreed, I think it would mostly just be hilariously strong. I want to take a really weak Pokemon and make it Ghost with immunity to all physical damage just to try it.
It really is a shame that Parasect was given such a terrible typing instead of this one. It was, a great look into a more powerful version of a underated Pokémon in my opinion.
Ghost Raticate could be a great Halloween idea - in honour of the one you “kill” on the SS Anne in the rival 3 battle! Get to see how good it would’ve been if the rival had kept it….
I think the easiest optimisation you could do for parasect is using stun spore against the rivals pokemon that have sand attack, try and slow down the rate of accuracy drops to try and get through more pokemon before running out of pp
I mean, it's only 1/4 to not move due to Paralysis and the result doesn't change. So while we could slightly reduce the number of turns, the final result is basically the same.
Because it is limited to only some pokemon. I generally label it as a "Broken TM" when it meets the criterion of being OP or being used for glitch setups AND learnable by all Pokemon that learn TMs. Some cases - Bide can be used to cheese return self-inflicted confusion damage (glitch) and is learnable by all Pokemon that get TMS = broken. Mimic allows pokemon unnecessarily large type coverage (OP) and is learnable by all Pokemon = broken. Rage is learnable by all Pokemon that get TMs, BUT is a weak move that locks the player out of any other action and rarely wins fights = not broken. Body Slam is one of the strongest TMs in the game with a ridiculous 30% Paralysis chance, but is not learnable by every Pokemon that gets TMS = non broken. That is the logic behind the decision making in Gen 1. Gen 2, when GSC Pokemon Challenges gets there is going to be interesting though, because arguably there are a lot of generic, but not overwhelming TMS like Return, Hidden Power, Detect, etc.
How good is it? Apparently, pretty frickin' good. Not just the power of Ghost-type, but also offloading the weight of the Grass-type, which really suffers in the generation that heavily over-saturated Poison-types all over the place.
@@RBYPokemonChallenges Ghost-typing mitigating that helps. And I think the result was better than with Ghost/Grass, because of the late-game prevalence of Ice making Lorelei and Lance a whole lot more of a pain.
Have to hard disagree that its the worst fully evolved pokemon in Gen 1. It has decent moves in leech life and slash and spore completely makes up for its double weaknesses.

Shedinja with Spore.

Wouldn’t a dead Parasect be grass/ghost since the bug is dead and not the fungus?
