Great brief recap of your experience. One thing I’ve learned with all VR headsets is that they are all a “One Size Fits Most”. There are always outliers that put a specific headset on and it just doesn’t sit right and the clarity or comfort isn’t there. The good thing is the market is quickly evolving and to think that in 2024 this is what we have?! Imagine what we will be blessed with in 5 and 10 years lol. Can’t wait bro.
I'm glad you're very happy with your PCL. I recently bought one from my local Amazon store and ended up returning it for a refund. The lens distortion and edge CA wasn't acceptable and I wasn't prepared to enter the lens swap lottery. I hope the upcoming Pimax Super OLED (not QLED) with pancake lens works out better for me. I've preordered this btw. In the meantime I'm still very happy with my +2yo Quest Pro/i913900k/rtx4090 using the official link cable connected to my z790mb usb3.2 gen2 type-c port at 650mbps encoding bitrate. Thanks again mate for your video and best cheers from Australia.
Sorry to hear about your initial experience with the PCL! Pimax have got to do better. Funny enough, I had pre ordered the Super months ago before I made the decision to get the Crystal Lights. I may end up committing and getting the Super just to compare. Thanks for the feedback and cheers!
Hello, it's Didier from France again. I watch your videos and I am amazed by the graphic quality as well as the fluidity of your images. I know that what we see is not the real reflection of the image of the headset but still I can't get a clear image in 120 or 90 Hz. I have an i7-13700 a 4080 and 64 of RAM. I have applied your settings seen on a previous video but the image is blurry and lots of freezes. Are there any special settings to make on the Nvidia graphics card? Thank you for your help
Sorry to hear you're still having these problems. Have you updated your Nvidia drivers for the 4080? I know it's a simple step but something worth taking a look at to make sure it's up to date.
Yes I have updated my Nvidia drivers for the 4080. But ultimately where I have the best results is by putting myself in 72 Hz. In DLSS I have a very beautiful image and a very good fluidity 72 FPS constant. No OpenXr and no QuadViews. As soon as I switch to 120 or 90 Hz the image is clear but as soon as I make movements I have the image that freezes, it doubles and therefore very unpleasant.@@thatflightsimchannel
Great review , a quick question I do have an aero Varjo headset but I never got a clear sharp visuals do you think this will be a better upgrade specially with Varjo ending their support by 20205 ?
I’m shocked! Always thought the Varjo was on a class of its own. The simple answer is yes. The 2880x2880 resolution is more than enough for me. Having tested a Quest 3 earlier this year, the change I experienced with the Crystal Light was night and day. To be fair however, I didn’t dedicate as much time tweaking settings on the Quest 3 and I only had it for 3 weeks. I’m 95% sure my experience could’ve been better with the Q3 had I dedicated more time and understood the settings that I needed to adjust better.
I have had my PCL for two months. Visuals are amazing compared to my HP G2. I agree with many of your comments but it needs to be said a large number of people are experiencing audio and mic drop and have to do the unplug and plug in dance as well as uninstall mic and audio drivers and reinstall. Hopefully they can get these issues sorted in the near future.
@@FACrazyCanuck Never heard of individuals having these issues but thanks for letting us know. Moving forward, I'll add that to my list of cons against the PCL. Thanks for stopping by!
I haven’t tried the Reverb G2 but from comments I’ve seen on forums and other videos, people claim the Crystal Light is the successor to the G2-at least as it pertains to flight simming. But I can’t speak with experience as I’ve never tried them.
g2 got a great clarity in middle of screen, still (better than quest3) it is very comfortable and light, compared to 800gr of "light" nowadays it's cheap as dust, if you know how to workaround win10/11 updates much better FPS, and even better on omnicept version (g2 with eye-tracking, unlike castrated crystal light)
Changes the way you fly, alright... off the handle when it falls down, and then you experience the crappy customer service and massively delayed warranty replacements.

Oh we’re excited as well man! It’s truly a great era for flight simmers and it’s just about to get better once FS2024 releases!

Sucks to hear that but so far, the experience has been amazing. Hopefully we never hit that point where I need to contact customer service.
