You don't need to pry the lip around the sunroof. Push it back, drop the front, push it forward, and it releases. The lip is wider at the back than the front. I forgot to connect the blue connector to the sunroof motor, that is how I know. But, it is helpful that you don't need to pull the sunroof to remove the headliner. Great video. It always helps to see how things can be done since even manuals can have incorrect information.
I honestly hope I never have to take the headliner down again! But if I do, I appreciate the heads up, it’s good to know. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you so much for this video! I am going to attempt to remove my headliner, put in a new one, and also fix all my clogged sunroof drains. You've done a great video, so thank you!
gonna be doing my headliner black today and painting all the gray bits black to go with my black and red color concept interior I had a parts car that I started ripping pieces off but nice to know the proper way to remove them 😅 thank you sir
I just put in a standard size aftermarket radio. It was actually given to me by a friend, it's a JVC with Bluetooth and it went in with only a little modification to the aftermarket adapter, because of fitment on the trim bezel. Thanks for watching
Am I able to take the liner out without opening the sunroof? My sunroof is broken and won’t open but the liner is falling apart and needs to be replaced.
You don’t have to have the sunroof open, it would certainly make your life a little easier, but you can do it without. You should be able to work, the sunroof retaining ring out from the inside of the car. there’s also a manual release for the sunroof that you’re going to find when you take down that front panel and little allen wrench so you can manually open and close the sunroof if you want to
Looks great and I appreciate the documented tear down so I can figure out how to put mine back together!
Think this is why my headliner failed bad sunroof drains thank you again.
I know what ill be doing for the next three day lol
