It f'n sucks you spent any where from 400 to 300 for a system and sony cant even design something right. Its been a flaw on both ps3 and ps4 , im glad you finally got your disk out

It's a Blu-Ray disc, not a CD. Compact Disc (CD) Digital Video Disc (DVD) and Blu Ray Disc. All PS4 games use Blu Ray Discs because of the storage capacity and high speed loading.
If it makes the tick sound turn it clock wise and because there are two models of the ps4 one ejects when you turn it counter clockwise and the second one ejects the disk if you turn the screw clock wise
Disassembled it, opened up the disc drive n found there was a bunch of sticky residue on it. I cleaned it all off with alcohol and put it back together n it works again.. after this though it would just shut off by itself n not turn on. Tried everything and i just smacked it a few times after and eventually it got to working normal again. I don’t know wtf is up with ps4.. never had these problems ever and it always stay in the upright position on a table with plenty of space to ventilate so I don’t know why all of a sudden it acts up! But its up n running now! Taking it all apart helped me to clean it up good. So im happy for that!😃

FadeD I got it. Had to open the system up to get it out but I was able to clean it out and clean the rollers so it works now. Disc still comes out a little slow but hasn’t got stuck in there again since I did all that.

And if anybody happens to see this and you're messing with this and maybe you took your PS4 apart without ejecting the disc or whatever that screw is on the side kind of poking out from the disc reader and it's not like a silver screw it's like a almost like if you saw the bottom part of a Lego and it was shaped like the head of a Phillips screw, kind of like a flat plastic screw and it's got the + shape..... basically it just doesn't look like a regular screw it can take a Phillips head or a flathead and you just turn it like the fella here said.
I tried and tried and tried for a few minutes but I had to find the right size screwdriver and literally if you turn it counterclockwise after a few seconds actually quite a few seconds it 100% WORKS my disk came out… THANK YOU
I'm glad I had a set of the small phillips head screwdrivers and this video to follow. It took some time engaging the screw because I didn't have a flashlight but I finally got it. Thanks!

I know a quick and simple way. All you have to do is hold the power button until you hear a second beep and then press the insert disc button.

I just used a very small Philips. The same size when taking apart a PS4 Controller or any controller. Same screws.
