Can't believe I waited so long to look up how to fix this. It works and was even easy for someone like me who usually doesn't mess with car audio. Thanks a lot bro!
seperate your power, ground, remote wires and move 'em to the middle of the car, then run your rca cables down under the trim of the door, this will be more of a help to the system.
Hey Gregg, spent hours on this after I just simply moved my sub from my trunk to my back seat. This did the trick thank you so much was losing my damn mind.
I've been dealing w engine noise for a decade!!!!! i just ignored the problem bc i used to play music loud but these days i play it low so it became a real problem. Ive tried those isolators but they just reduce the problem for awhile then it always came back. THIS REMOVED 100% I used 12 gauge wire, screwed into side screw and wrapped into the red rca cable. Thanks you man!
ust put my sub and amp in my car and shuddered as i heard the loud whine from the sub. looked at this video and went what the **** this cannot be real but i had some wire and loop terminals and went stuff it, what harm could it do. i'm Dumbfounded as was my brother and my other friend. Thank you for this it's save me hours of time and MONEY!
One thing I see people do is run all the wiring together. That is not good because that will cause noise into your speakers because the voltage through the power wire creates an electromagnetic field that turns into sound and that's what you hear through your rca's. Always run your power and remote on one side of the car and speaker and rca's on the other side and you'll avoid that problem all together.
i dont wanna be a dick but its the amps running through the power wire causing distortion, not the voltage. but still ur explanation is completly right :)
Bro.... Thank you it really.. did.. work. You saved me from spending $200-$300 from the audio store. People should be careful with who they go see to get an audio system installed from. This guys can scam you if you don't know anything about car audio system. Ones aging thank you boss. 👍
Thank you!!! Over the past few days I've had my battery / alternator checked, re-grounded everything and still couldn't kick the noise. This did the trick. Likely my own fault for routing too many cables together but I didn't have much of a choice. :-)
Thanx man, it works!!! I traded my old radio for credit and payed 50 for a new one and I messed it up the same day, TODAY lol Looked up how to fix and fixed my new stereo smh Thanx again
It works dud when I watched the this vid it was like 2 am I went down to my car connect it and it works dud there r people who works in this field and they dont know shit u own maan amazing
Wow it worked! And I have a good ground to my amp. So I dont get it. Also tryed 3 sets of rca cables. This guys trick is the only thing that worked. Been dealing with this for a week. Every day I have worked on it. This trick fixed it. Thank U
quick question off topic. if I want to install and amp but I can't find the main RCA what to use to connect to the main or aux of the EQ ? I see an aux hole but it I've been told that's for running a phone and the only other RCA's out the back of the head unit are for the front, rear and sub. what do I use as a main so I can run my rear(which has the amp) and sub? thanks for answering.
The problem arises due to bad ground and RCA picking up interference from power cables. This trick is fixing the ground loop (difference in ground impedance) by grounding the RCA’s to the stereo chassis. The same can also be achieved by grounding your stereo better. Also pickup RCA cables that are twisted and have better noise isolation. I had ground loop issues that I fixed by changing RCA cables to better quality and sanding down the ground.
wow those secrets doe.. How do I do this if I'm using a wiring harness / high level inputs? I'm using factory wiring in my e36 bmw and have 2 LOCs for each side input to my amp. Let me know if you have any suggestions.. thanks
This is nearly a decade late but I can guess what you did wrong. In the e36 make sure to never run your rca wires on the passenger side of the car. That’s where the main 12v feeed line is located and this is usually the main cause of interference with those cars. Pull your rca down the driver side of the vehicle
I don't have any RCA cables coming out of my factory deck to the Amp. There are just two plugs that carry a bunch of wires from the deck to the Amp. How can I do this using my setup?
Stock head unit , no RCA plugs, get whinning through speakers after hooking up amp. Tried ground loop isolator, new rca cables, power line noise reducer, nothing helps. Have gain control on amp yurned way down. Any suggestions?
wh which rca do u ground it to. i have this problem with my cassette deck and amp. my headunit dosen't whine just my amp to my cassette deck whines so which rca do u use for ground. please reply gregg
hell yea this shit worked..swapped one of my amps and got hella interference afterwards. pulled out my deck grounded it to the rca jack worked. sounds crystal. thanks bro!
I think he means AV ;) Thanks a bunch for this! A little dob of solder doesn't hurt either. Note: might have to do every channel that's buzzing through the amp. 2 RCAs, do it to each one. You can also run this from the amp end of the RCAs, I've heard that's more effective, I'll be trying both tomorrow as soon as it's light out and I can finish up my install
I have a newer style radio and I have 3 sets of rca but they don't plug into the back of the radio but into a harness that plugs into the radio. I have grounded it and I still get the whining noise...
This is a band aid only guys. This guy has poor grounds in the vehicle. They are all at different ohms values. All you have to do is connect EVERYTHING audio related to ONE heavy, real copper wire, and send to the - BATT terminal. NO CRIMP CONNECTORS please. Solder all your wires. Read about star grounding. Never ground your RCA's people. You're masking the problem.
agree 100% this is not a fix its a bandaid to problem i also like to have all my equipment see exact same positive and exact same negative i never ground to sheet metal i always ground to frame and never a had a single issue
"All you have to do is connect EVERYTHING audio related to ONE heavy, real copper wire, and send to the - BATT terminal" Please explain when you say connect everything audio related to ONE HEAVY WIRE and send it to the battery terminal. Are you saying to connect everything to the POWER WIRE? really now. really. Explain.
I just installed speakers, amp and sub to my factory head unit with an LOC in a 2016 Canyon and had 2 noises. One rpm related and the other just a constant buzz. I moved the amp ground and the rpm noise went away but the constant buzz is still there. I spliced intonthe head unit wires because it did not have RCAs. Do you have Any idea what I should check now or what else I can do?
Hey great video I just wanted to know if will work for engine humming out my subwoofer I have stock stereo and a amp n 3x12" mtx subwoofers n hum only out subs I already wasted money on few rca inline noise filter but still there some people say check all grounds could cause this please Help any help would be greatly appreciated
So not sure if this is the same problem. But I get massive buzzing when I first start my car, like a lot of feedback or something. And it goes for bout 5-10 seconds and then stops (with the sub at full volume). only difference is I'm using a capacitor as well.
Hey can you help me ? I tried your method and it did not work. My problem is when ever i press gas on my car and rev the engine the buzzing is synced with engine. Its like i have a turbo its very annoying and i don't know how to fix it. Like if my volume is on 0 or my radio is turned OFF its buzzing like crazy, But as soon as i turn the volume to 1 the buzzing stops. Help me plz
I read the hum is due to ground potential difference from and and head unit and amp. This totally makes since thanks will try this, even with isolators I still hear hum. This may be the what solves it.
I've spent the past week tearing apart my car and rewiring only to still have an annoying hum. I am so happy that this FINALLY worked a little pissed that the 20 fourms I have read didn't mention anything like this. Yes it may be a little jerry rigging but hey at least its in the dash and no one sees.
Only my radio, and auxiliary buzz. The cd is fine. What is wrong? Is it fixable? The place that put it in said my Pyle stereo was bad, but it's brand new. HELP
I have installed an expensive Chinese FB Bluetooth Transmitter....it works calm until my car is off ,,... when i start engine i start getting whining noise through FM....when i move transmitter here n there...it changes to low and high........but there is no such noise during normal FM if i use....it is only related to FM transmitter....this is 3rd transmitter i am trying...any solution bro?
I tried everything but the buzzing noise is still there and it gets louder when I pick up speed can anybody tell me what the hell is going on with this thing
Does this work for the "POP" noise when powering the stereo on or off , and when changing stations or sources? No external amp just a stock set up w after market radio. Thanks yall !
I got the same issue. I just replaced the stock speakers in my escort with some Pioneers. They still buzz at higher frequencies and the passenger door pops when it starts.
I fixed my POPPING. had to get a resistor of some sort, I cannot recall the exact name of the part but it hooked up to the RCA wire out of the head unit . It is able to reduce the initial flow or amps of the e- to the speakers when powering up or changing channels. hope it helps . do some more googling ill see if I can find the name
that shit didnt work for me...i cant get rid of it...got wires wrapped around rca's on radio....i grounded radio to lithium babk in the back ...bought brand new sky high rca's
Man thank you for this!!! We could not figure out how or why until we did this! You're a genius man thank you!
Thank you, such kind words. I'm glad that I was able to help :-)
Do I just have to do this to one rca plug
Can't believe I waited so long to look up how to fix this. It works and was even easy for someone like me who usually doesn't mess with car audio. Thanks a lot bro!

I tried this set up and it worked perfectly. No noise at all. thanks
Good deal :-)
Do we need to plug rc cable
great fix . zero engine noise,clean fix,shop secrets exposed😁🏄🏄

Gerald you are absolutely right brother, good point

Straight to tha point didn't take 10 minutes and works perfectly, Top job brother 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Thanx man, it works!!! I traded my old radio for credit and payed 50 for a new one and I messed it up the same day, TODAY lol Looked up how to fix and fixed my new stereo smh Thanx again
Lol, hey what's up Brother. I'm glad everything worked out for the best, take care :-)
Question. I dont have any rca cables hooked up on my aftermarket boss radio. My car humsnon bluetooth. What can I do to fix that
A better ground
I can't wait to try this today, this is driving me nuts! :P
It works dud when I watched the this vid it was like 2 am I went down to my car connect it and it works dud there r people who works in this field and they dont know shit u own maan amazing
I'm waiting this at 2:36 am 👀
thanks for this vid, I will try this on my pioneer, the buzz is driving me crazy on my system. thank you again.
Your a genius I was ready to blow my whole car up cause I couldn’t figure out what it was. Thank you
You’re welcome, I’m glad I could help.
My boy said blow my whole fuckin car up 🤣🤣
Holy shit it worked lmao! Thank you so much good sir, my fellow bassheads here thank you as well

Do we need rc plug to work or just do this directly
Holy crap this totally works!!! Amazing!! Thank you Sir!!
What happens if I'm using oem radio with high level inputs no RCAs? Can I do this to the RCAs on the amp?

thank you so much .......what a relief!
wh
which rca do u ground it to. i have this problem with my cassette deck and amp. my headunit dosen't whine just my amp to my cassette deck whines so which rca do u use for ground. please reply gregg
Worked Worked worked!!!! well done thanks man
hell yea this shit worked..swapped one of my amps and got hella interference afterwards. pulled out my deck grounded it to the rca jack worked. sounds crystal. thanks bro!
You'r welcome J, glad everything worked out Brother
If this doesn't work or if you don't want to pull your radio back out try a ground loop isolator. Worked for me!
I think he means AV ;) Thanks a bunch for this! A little dob of solder doesn't hurt either. Note: might have to do every channel that's buzzing through the amp. 2 RCAs, do it to each one. A Sonoma! Best little trucks! My friend vechile was one! I loved it!
I have a newer style radio and I have 3 sets of rca but they don't plug into the back of the radio but into a harness that plugs into the radio. I have grounded it and I still get the whining noise...
You use the positive or the negative speaker wire?
You can't run the positive to ground, it will short.
Doesn't matter, when using that rigged process.
Not sure what you asking. It will be a small piece of neutral wire that you're adding
This is a band aid only guys. This guy has poor grounds in the vehicle. They are all at different ohms values. Explain.
In my case, the engine sound in my speakers faster I go sound is louder... Just need to ground rca? Thanks
Did it work for you I have the same issue
I just installed speakers, amp and sub to my factory head unit with an LOC in a 2016 Canyon and had 2 noises. One rpm related and the other just a constant buzz. finally some fucken help . thanks you soo much bro . much love from new Zealand
IT WORKED IM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW. thank you very much.
Hey great video I just wanted to know if will work for engine humming out my subwoofer I have stock stereo and a amp n 3x12" mtx subwoofers n hum only out subs I already wasted money on few rca inline noise filter but still there some people say check all grounds could cause this please Help any help would be greatly appreciated
makes mine much louder. also unhooking my rca's from mye amp also makes it louder. But mine is alternator whine. and its driving me nuts.
Didn't help me.Mine went up double.
So not sure if this is the same problem. But I get massive buzzing when I first start my car, like a lot of feedback or something. And it goes for bout 5-10 seconds and then stops (with the sub at full volume). only difference is I'm using a capacitor as well.

I'm sorry to hear that. Do you have extra RCA Inputs on the back of your radio that are not in use or you're not using.
no i dont
Check your alternator grounding
Bro do you have rca and speaker wires runing on the same side as your power wire?
Check the power cable if its touching the engine then that will be the problem
What about a thud from subs on turn and shut off of radio?
Legend, I had doubts but this worked perfectly cheers🤙🏻🤙🏻
it worked great no static or humming noise at all. thanks for the video
TRIED IT THIS MORNING AND IT ELIMINATED THE PROBLEM. THANKS BRUH A+
if i use 6 output. 2 front, 2 rear, 2 for subwoofer. do i only to do this trick on one RCA? or all of them?
OMG CANT BELIEVE THIS WORKED. THANKS SO MUCH BRUH
My radio only whines when I accelerate....no annoying sound when idling the motor only...does your procedure fix this problem as well ??...thx
What if your head unit don’t have RCA connectors....?
Yup you said it!! Or ive seen guys do this at the amp.
you are a life saver thank you so much
I read the hum is due to ground potential difference from and and head unit and amp. This totally makes since thanks will try this, even with isolators I still hear hum. This may be the what solves it.
I have a G35 and It will take several hours to get access to behind the stereo. can I instead do that trick on the amplifier?
What if my module is all plastic? It's a newer (Slim) back.
Thanks.
I'm deff gonna try this. Buzzing has been driving me crazy.
What if you don't have an amp?
Yo homie u rule got my beats back quickly and inexpensivly with no issue. Thanx a lot
Will this work if ur rca from the amp are connected to a stock head unit adaptor? Pretty much just have to do what u did but ground it further away
Yes it will :-)
This worked for me! Thanks dude! Can someone tell me why it does go away though?
will this help get rib of stack in my speakers
I have a buzzing sound and whinnying sounds that sound with the engine, will this help with that?
Please separate your wires power, remote, and ground. Never run power and RC cables together. The power wire will cause feedback.
Worked like a charm! Thanks fam
I have a dsp and when it comes on I get three sets of buzzing and whining lol. I’m a definitely try tomorrow
Totally worked. You're the man thank you.
What if it’s the amp? Four channel amp maneuvered speakers and RCA all over the place... front two channels whine like a son of a gun... what the ?
SO IF THE BUZZING NOT GO AWAY WHAT CAN I DO TO TAKE IT OUT ?
Trace your ground and make sure the contact surface is raw/shining metal
I meant shiny
After spending hours cutting and trying to fit my double din into an Impala, I got to pull the dang thing out... Great.
Only my radio, and auxiliary buzz. The cd is fine. What is wrong? Is it fixable? The place that put it in said my Pyle stereo was bad, but it's brand new. HELP
Renee Kindt I have the same problem, did you figure it out?
what rca do u ground it to
Look at my fanger! Look at it!
lol
Hi my speakers are buzzing as well but I left the original deck an don't have rca cables what else can I do to stop the buzzing
Thanks bud this helped a lot:)
I tried everything but the buzzing noise is still there and it gets louder when I pick up speed can anybody tell me what the hell is going on with this thing
good shit! definitely worked for me, thanks man
You're welcome Bro
And if you do not have rca jacks on the back of your head unit.
Did not work for me! Any other suggestions??
Still coming from my speakers smh
You just rediscovered XLR inputs
thanks a billion it worked you the man 💪
thanks for this mad props to you homie
Thank you sooo much i was going crazy with that sound lol
:-) I'm glad that I was able to help, also if you trace your ground wire. Make sure its making raw/shining metal contact
I meant shiny :-), but yeah it's usually that DAM, ground wire. Coming from the Radio or Amp, sometimes the Speakers

What if I don't have an amp and rc wires
Can u use any rca plug meaning left or right?
Worked a treat on my speakers nice 1 m8 😇😇
But i try this and this didn't do any change to my problm.
It's fix just to change the RCA with a brand new binded RCA cable....
thks
Got it you just kinda threw me off when you called the rca jacks the a/c cords. Thanks for tip.
All good :-)
A/C = Alternate Current
Yung you right I meant rca. I was working on my Air Conditioner earlier that day, when I post the video :-)
Lol it's all good bro.. Thanks for the help though. .
***** Yes Sir take care
