I first saw this series in ~1985 on a Saturday afternoon PBS program called Matinee at the Bijou and fell in love with the music @ 9:30. I spent 15-20 years trying to find out what it was before I finally discovered that it's The Hebrides Overture (aka Fengil's Cave) by Mendelsson. He was only 17 when he composed it. That made this serial pretty memorable to me.
Hey Indy how cool for you! I've also picked up an awful lot of interesting things about the past just from watching old is B&W fiction and historical fiction. It's a amazing that if one pays good attention how much someone can learn and sometimes it's found where it's least expected! I'm into the 🎵🎶🎵 Blues too, big time. Yet "..like to rock the same such. Do you dig Trower? Best of both worlds!
Of all the classic movie serials of the 1940's I've seen online, the one that seems to be elusive is "Daughter of Don Q", one of the few that feature a leading lady in action like Zorro's Black Whip.
Good movie, but I had to fast-forward through the opening credits of every chapter lest I lose my mind listening to 'Anchors Aweigh' over and over again.
Many countries used revolvers as the standard military issue through the WW II period and on into the early 1950's. One of the last holdouts was Britain; like most countries, the military there was slow to adopt new weapons. For that matter, it was only in recent times that American police agencies began to switch from revolvers to automatic pistols for the sake of rapid fire and quick reloading. On an individual basis, many law enforcement personnel kept their revolvers for the sake of dependability and easier concealment.🏴☠

@@captainjack8823 Re did I dig Trower. Yes, the whole of Procol Harum. Salty Dog is probably one of my top 10 albums of all time.

Disregard previous transmission. I tried watching this again just today, and the 'Anchors Aweigh' is just too much for me. I give up.
Someone pass me the butter for this corncob of a movie!
You have your elbow in it. How gauche.
Watch something else then
John Litel playing a bad guy? That's a switch.
Why are they still using revolvers in 1942??
