Love it Simon. I hosted a metal show on community radio for 15 years until recently, and it still amazes me how dedicated metal heads are. Keep up the great work🤘🤘
It's so funny how many interests we share - metal and horror obviously quite a common combination and stuff but man those little pan paperbacks and stuff as well! I just love them and the art. Really reminds me of my childhood dreams which I guess is what drives us to a lot of this beautiful and fun nostalgia. Thanks for sharing mate!
I'm a massive fan of SG1. My box set with the gate ring on the front isn't pictured as it's temporarily out in the lounge room, where I've been watching them with my son! He loves it too. We are mid way season 5 now.
@@ExplosiveAction season 5 still pretty good, great camaraderie between all the characters. to me it jumped a bit the shark after season 7, but one of my favorite series, I love it
@juanaltredo2974 I still like it till the end, but I was cold when Hammond left and Jack took the desk job, plus crap like the Pete plotline and the useless The Trust / Lucian Alliance attempts to sort of keep Goa'uld stuff around was meh. Much preferred the Ori arc.
Simon, absolutely loved this video, great and big collection you have, and you managed to make the cave super cozy, which is very important. Wanted to ask you if you keep some kind of digital inventory of all your collection, like on an excel file or some other software. how do you find a specific movie in your collection?
Thanks! All music in Discogs, all movies in DVD Profiler (even tapes and laserdiscs). The label gun stickers help remind me where things are, but then it's alphabetical.
Hi Simon!!! Awesome tour and that's what i'm calling a cool music and movie Mancave..... it has to be one of the biggest i have ver seeing here in the VC/YT world. Really loved your action movies wall and the 80's bin with all those cool OG's. Btw do you have any kind of insurance?? you have put a lot of efford and money building your collection and with all the climate issues it's a little scary sometimes.... cheers and be well
Hey, Simon. Melbourne metalhead been since the mid-80s. Just got onto your channel and love it for the metal and also getting into your Blueray reviews. Utopia records are playing Mortal Sin albulms instore today in memory of one of the lead members of Mortal Sin, whose wife died today. Just saw it on the Utopia Fbook page. Great Sydney metal band, which I saw in Melb in the late 80s. Keep up the good work mate. Mark. Ps what work do you eo to afford such wonderful collecting.
Thanks mate! I'm an engineering manager, but we are single income so definitely not rich lol. I do some buy-and-sell stuff on the side sometimes and when it comes to films will sell older editions to get newer ones. That is sad about Mortal Sin...
Brilliant game room, mate! But it hurt my soul you don't have a crt tv hooked up to older consoles and tech. Then, use a modern tv for the modern consoles. Nonetheless, it's still a great tour, thanks!
The PS2 runs component video and outputs 16:9 so the plasma is perfect. I have no other consoles. The laserdisc connects via SVIDEO and the vcd by composite. They look great.
Fun to see the sci-fi/pulp fiction bookshelf. My library has a large selection of free/give-away books and I'm always finding some vintage titles. I just read "I Am Not the Other Houdini," (Michael Conner, 1978) and it well written with an engaging story. Somebody should make it into a movie!
Great one Simon! Man that is a lifetime or more of viewing. Killer collection. I dont feel as bad about my DVD collection now :) I collect records more than movies though. Dont think I saw if you had any film noir? Do you collect it at all? Cheers man!
Mate, been binge watching your vids today! Thought I had a reasonable deep metal collection, but na, you have sooo much shit I’ve never heard of. How do you discover bands and doesn’t it annoy you how many there are??? 🤘🏻 cheers from nz

We see your main collection of films are Sci-Fi, Horror & Action. I would be curious to see a video showing movies you own that are outside those genres that might surprise us. Like your favorite Comedies, Romance, old Classics Epics & Dramas.

Simon loved the tour, hey how about some ideas on how to budget for buying records, like do you have a limit or do you just. buy if you see something you like, it can get expensive for me mostly cause of shipping, so im trying to set an amount monthly to spend on music for this year, would love to see some ideas, thanks!
Hey mate, I don't really budget for them like that. I try to finance 75% of my purchases from a second account which I top up from selling stuff on ebay or marketplace, doing some small side gigs etc. If that hits zero, I try not to spend much from the main account and just go without until I have more cash. Also I prioritise the things I want and will often get a CD if its cheaper and not a priority band.
That is one hell of a man cave. Don't know that you've ever been asked this, but have you ever been much of a Bruce Lee fan? Just asking cause u and I are about the same age.
“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:11-13)

Thanks mate! Yeah I've found this with a few people - extreme metal, horror movies, scifi pulp novels - definitely favourites of many!
Really cool Mausoleum poster. So many people have not seen that movie and I think it's criminal!!
Haha it's a fun film! I was happy it got a blu-ray after ugly DVDs
This is nothing short of amazing. Fantastic collection room and set-up👍👍
Cheers!
Chapeau for the great man cave and collection. Always inspiring
Awesome update. Love seeing the evolution year after year of the space.

That is an amazing man cave tour Simon. I wish I had something like that but I'd have to buy a second house 😅

I could potentially do that yeah. It's not huge.

Awesome man cave video ever heard of Anatomy Where Angels Die 1996 cd
