I’ve said it before Simon… but your collection is one of the very best I’ve ever seen… & it’s a real Aladdin’s Cave in there! You utilise the room you have really, really well mate! Thanks for the tour!🤘🏻
Geez you are an alpha chad Simon 😅. Everyone in Sydney complaining about cost of living crisis but you living large in that incredible "mancave" of yours.
Haha I live on dust and nail clippings, but have a decent collection! I do sell a bit to buy stuff though, lots of DVD to Blu-ray upgrades for example
Sometimes I find myself feeling guilty over all the physical media (specifically movies and music) I've purchased throughout my life...but when I watch room tour videos like yours that blows my collection away and I feel better about my passion and realize I need to step up my collecting game, haha! Awesome video, sir!
Haha! He who dies with the most stuff wins! :D
I also get that ‘guilty’ feeling. I ask myself: why do I purchase so much stuff? What hole am I filling? I guess we are all a bit crazy, ey? 😂
I know those Bunnings and Ikea shelves all too well. Classics.
They do the job well!
Hey Simon. Always a pleasure to see the Man Cave come alive and now with added views of the Garden. Noticed your Ugg boots on the floor, must get cold some nights in the cave watching all that gore and sleaze.
Haha yeah, though I just packed them away for summer
would love to see your video game collection/some video game type stuff on the channel in the future
Might do an overview video one day.
Honestly when you say "we all wish we had more space" at the end I kinda agree but I have also learned to appreciate efficient storage for collections which often happens due to space constraints. It almost feels like when you have to put more thought into where things go/fit there is more character to it at the end and the density in itself is impressive to look at I think.
Very true. It is satisfying trying to Tetris the hell out of this room at times.
Amazing video
Thanks for watching!
Amazing room and collection! Love all the curated sections, and your method of sorting!! The new shelving looks great. Always love seeing the Doctor Who collection. The tubs are a great idea for storage too!
Cheers mate! Yeah I'm dangerous with a label gun haha
I always love your yearly room tour Simon! Incredible, absolutely incredible collection. Your vinyl collection grew double in size since last year. Loved the video bro!
Thanks so much! Yeah the vinyl definitely has exploded lol
Damn some of those horror box sets are a thing of beauty! Also Nice job separating directors euro Italian American etc. Your giving me motivation to go into the abyss and properly arrange my cds and DVDs. Cheers from US Boston!
Awesome man. Yeah much of the label gun activity was spawned around me wanting to put Eurocrime, Giallo, Eurohorror, Spaghetti western all together as (particularly with the first three) the genres blur into one quite often. And I just love having a dedicated Bruno Mattei section!
Hi Simon!!! thanks for the room tour and having a cool view of your fun and amazing man cave. Loved your Garfield phone, that's so cool!!! Awesome old japanese VHS section. I have never seeing before a double cd player and a cd recorder all in one unit. The cassette tape old shelve. cheers and be well
Thanks mate! My Garfield phone is the highlight for sure haha
Awesome man cave tour Simon Good to see you're game collection 🤘🤘
Just a little one!
Looking real nice there man. I always look forward to these room tours. Jealous of that Married with Children stuff, lol.
Cheers Pat! Yeah what a hilarious set of circumstances that I ended up with the figures and dvds a day apart from the same store.
Nice! Was wondering about the room
I like to do these annually!
That is some collection... 🤘🤘👍👍.great video.....Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
Thanks mate!
Your Mancave could double as a fully functionable Specialty Store. I'd be lying if I said I didn't covet.
Covet away! Haha. Yeah I could offer a rental service haha.
Awesome man cave tour just got done listening to Nile Festivals Of Atonement 1995 cd
Great CD!
Looks amazing :) Sad to see the spinner gone XD
Yes the carousel was cool but it was actually pretty bulky and made it hard to get to things behind it. It's living in a home with a big VHS fan so I'm happy.
Wait, There's a novelization of Cruel Jaws? Agreed on space, i've moved from double stacking to triple stacking dvd rows. Good to see you've got both genres covered, Death Metal and Black Metal.
Yep, are there any other genres? Haha. Doom splits between the traditional metal section and death metal section, depending upon its flavour. The Cruel Jaws novelization was a bonus from Severin during the early days of them selling the film. Hilarious, right?
17:57 You MUST add A Bridge too Far to that list, easily one of the best war movies and it looks incredible on Blu-Ray
My favourite genre is easily war, so if I went any further this comment could be 2 paragraphs long
I'd love to get that one, I'm reading that the Blu-rays are a bit poor quality though. Sounds like it needs a remaster.
Very nice shop, eh I mean room
Well it does have ex video store signs haha
Love your yearly tour mate ! I only have a few 7"s as I too, find em annoying and pointless really. All my dvds / blu rays are in tubs under the bed, don't have many and space is an issue. I was lucky enough to see Braindead at the cinema when it first came out - it was a must as I was a huge fan of Bad taste. I only like British comedies, they are total classics. I remember when I had a large collection of blu rays, and one thing that drove me mad was numbered spines !!! It made me want them all, even if I didn't want them --not going down that road again !!
Yep, I am done with spine numbers! The solution was to order alphabetically in genre, not by label. Much better and a more video store organised chaos feel.
A video about your video CD collection would be great.
That could be quite the undertaking!
Awesome man cave Simon! So jello! Random question, how do you manage dust, humidity and mould?
P.s. the total recall poster should have a greater feature/display in the cave. Absolute classic!
Good question. Mold has gotten me before. We had a serious wet April in 2022 and it was so bad, one of my shelves got white mould and had to be thrown out. I learned from that and cleaned up the wall behind with mould-proof paint, and put air holes in the replacement shelf, Been fine since. VHS, they succumb to mold, so that is always a battle - funnily enough the Japanese VHS dont tend to. Build from stronger stuff! Humidity sucks so I have fans when I work in here. Dust.. I just dust! And vaccuum weekly.
You must have a unbelievable monthly budget for physical media 🤘💿
There is a lot of selling old DVDs and other things going on behind the scenes!
I need Braindead in bluray. Is that one fully uncut with full “one of those guys that roots corpses”?
It's a custom job, using the HD print from the US disc and some upscaled uncut bits from a German DVD I think. Found it online! It will do until Jackson pulls his finger out.
Hopefully he released a 4k like he said! Doubtful:::
Nice Video Simon.
Noticed You Changed Your Hong Kong Legends Collection Around.
That Garfield Phone I Might Be Getting One Soon.
Does That Room Ever Get Hot On Really Hot Days?
Love my Garfield phone! Yeah it can get hot, we've done what we can to improve it.
love your setup, mate, full of personality and cosy. Perhaps when you run out of space you could build in part of the garden another storage room to annex to this?
Cheers mate, yeah very cosy and a nice feeling in here. Haha nice idea, would not go down well with the other half. When I exceed the vinyl space I'll get some tubs and put them at the foot of the horror shelf perhaps.
Speaking of war films, have you seen Come and See?
I haven't but I've seen clips, it looks brutal
Have you ever tried to do a 'headcount' of all your media?? Seems a lot. Have you hit the 1000 mark with your LPs yet???
It's all catalogued! Not sure on split with music but there's about 2000 LPs and cds combined and 8500 DVD and Blu
Shouldn’t you leave space on each row for future purchases? Seems a pain if you add 1 then have to change every row after.
There is far more consideration for that with this new setup than there was before, particularly in the horror shelf and vinyl where this are gaps for growth. The CDs not so much, every couple of months I just spent an hour moving stuff, it's no big deal.
Does your wife have a room dedicated to her stuff too? My stuff and that of my missus is cross-pollinated. Grindcore/avant-folk meets Soviet movie soundtracks, William Faulkner meets Marguerite Duras.
She has a study with lots of books in it, that's her passion, and there are book shelves throughout the living room. She had a few DVDs like the Hitchcock which I've assimilated into mine. The kid has tubs of DVDs under the living room TV for just his stuff.
@@ExplosiveAction That's great. Sounds like a cultured troupe. Books probably just have the edge over music for me, too. Cheers for the reply.
1:17 Is that home-brewing set up?
The big metal tub is a honey spinner - my wife keeps bees - and there are a couple large glass canisters if she gets the urge to make alcoholic ginger beer.
@@ExplosiveAction Nice
What's the LOWEST budget movie you thought was a lot of fun? I mean cheap Godfrey Ho low (what a great sentence).
Space Chase! It's on my favourites VHS shelf at the end with Deadly Prey. Shot by a lebanese director for absolutely nothing, it's a rift on Star Wars that is so much fun. I put the trailer on youtube years ago.
