- We now have information regarding the next Raid Day in Pokémon GO, and it is completely skippable. This Raid Day is going to highlight the Pokémon Falinks. They are not doing anything special for this Pokémon other than debuting it's Shiny Form. This is a bad decision from Niantic. Let's talk about it.

Only use I can think of for Falinks is that it's relatively large, so an XXL has the possibility of winning a General Fighting-type Showcase
Terrakion/ Machamp are much bigger

@@edmondYJ I have seen XXL Falinks win fighting showcases, also seen people have success with Makuhita and Bewear. Falinks is nominally longer than Machamp is tall, so it can be a toss-up. The Fighting type has a lot of potentially large pokemon but no true definitive "big one" like Onix, Celesteela or Wailord

Best thing about that Raid day is that there is no pressure to actually free up time to do it 😂. When Lucario Raid day was on, I was indifferent about it at first, because I already had enough shiny Riolu from the hatch event as well as two 100% Lucarios, but then the extra bonuses on rare candy XL got me fired up. This time, there is absolutely nothing to look forward to.
Well, I have to win 16 more raids to hit level 41, so.... I'll definitely make use of it😅
if they slapped a little hat on it I'd imagine the community wouldn't even be complaining😂😂

I am going to use this day to get the last two gyms in the city gold. This will get a ton of progress on them. I love it.

anyways, it's a useless meta pokemon, it should've been Zacian or next month for Zamazenta
We can’t expect them to do zacian or zamazenta. Maybe in 2-3 years for a raid day

Totally agree with you on this one. I did a couple of raids on my way to groceries, did manage to get a shiny fairly quickly and got some free raids in which is nothing to complain about. But yeah, for a raid day this just seemed like a terrible idea. Just for the sake of EXP and Stardust seems like a very underwhelming argument aswell since the EXP and Stardust is generally also there for stronger Pokemon. Looking forward to the Legendary Heroes event, hopefully we get something amazing.

Well, the event just finished an hour or so ago in the UK and it was a fabulous washout where I'm based out of (the North West of England). Incessant rain meant most people stayed indoors, so unless you were in a major city center you were pretty much running around in umbrellas scurrying from corner to corner. My kids and I did go out for the final hour and did a few, but it felt pretty 'meh.' I mean, Falinks looks a fun pokemon, but this raid day had nowhere near the excitement level of the Mega Rayquaza Raid Day. It felt more like a Raid day suggested by an intern that everyone said 'Sure! Why not?'

Niantic found gold by giving XXL rare candies per raid in the Lucario Raid Day, yet they decided to use stone.
I’m sick and tired of the animals of the Pokémon go community always being “yes people” and just accept everything and then complain when we have valid critics 😅

Watchlist gets killer moves and is actually good. I think it was a wild spawn at one point. So I have a pvp stat one so.

It was one of the galar Pokémon released in 2021 alongside skwovet and wooloo. Theyre releasing those shinies in the wild so they needed a way to release the falinks shiny, thats why they've done it.
I like this added to do trades for candy and XL candy. But like you said, this Pokémon is not too good for holding gyms, or battles. But Great Pokémon to catch and trash.
I might still do it just because I am disabled and theses help us lv up.

There is no way they could make money from this Pokémon ordinarily so they are hoping that people want the shiny enough to pay the 💰
I'm ok with Falinks being the raid day mon. We've been back to back on medium to larger events with comm classic day - beldum, battle weekend/battle championship, and upcoming comm day - popplio. It's nice to get a breather with a lower key event that we can casually play. For the USA, it's Labor Day weekend. Between family & friend events, traveling, work, Pogo comm day, it's a lot. I'm relieved to not have another thing to be sure I get to specifc X place at Y time to meet the local community and grind like crazy especially if it's going to be hot outside.
God forbid folks just want the shiny.
We have been getting shiny costumes that can’t evolve for years and you can trade for lower ivs. Just saying.

I think Niantic is just seeing what the numbers are for shiny hunters. This has to be an event where they are taking a look at numbers. It’s a test, but can’t really guess for what
I was so excited to see a raid day on the schedule. I thought maybe we'd get a new mega, like Mega Metagross (at last!) after Beldum Cday classic. Then I say the pokemon and I was just like, "Wut?" I wouldn't be surprised if some of my friends try to use some of the raid passes from this for Kyogre raids instead. I'll do my 7 free that I can do that day / weekend to try for the Shiny. Not buying the ticket for this.

A useless raid day but hey look a new shiny, they will make sure majority will only get it after 20 raids
I'll solo using the free tickets, but yeah, falinks is soooo boring to pick as a raid day. It has been out for a long time, plus it has been out in the wild for several different events. The release of its' shiny is not enough to make me go out and play hard for it. Honestly don't care even if I don't get the shiny during the raid day, because I know there will be plenty of opportunities to catch it in the wild. Plus with this being a Galar season, no doubt in my mind that there will be ample opportunities to catch to shiny outside of this raid day. This would have been an excellent chance to release something cool that might not be out in the wild, like maybe duraludon, would have been so hype.
Not worth a raid day. They should have released it during a research day. Don’t get why a dex entry ( one and done ) is worth a raid day.

I am down for just a easy raid day. I wont remote this raid. But just an easy going raid that i can listen to football (Go Bills) and just play sounds nice.
I dont care about the pokemon itself but boosted XP and stardust will make it a worthwhile day! We usually share eggs and starpieces in my raid parties which is nice
If its a soloable raid I'll go do one. Otherwise I'll skip it and use that money for better raids in September. Good luck to those shiny hunting though

I just hope that this means that falinks will STOP being the only reward for winning 3 out of 5 pvp battles. That would make the day worth it.
Boosted shiny odds, on a brand new shiny dropping. There is no reason to skip this unless you don't care about a new shiny. It would be super annoying to try and get this shiny from GBL only. My 10-12-15 Falinks per Pokegenie is 95% for PVP IVs so you can get useable IVS, even if its not rank one. It will be in 3* raids so you can solo it, and its not elite raids so you can do remote raids. This is seriously everything I see idiots on the internet whining about except its not the most relevant pokemon. Here's the strategy for pokemon you should keep. Get a good IV one, one that's good in PVP and get the shiny. If the pokemon is only going to be good for PVP then the good IV's and PVP IV's can be the same one to save bag space. or just get the shiny for trade and keep nothing else from this day. Why can't people just be happy they gave us something to do and what should hopefully be a free shiny for everyone.

I think Falinks is lame, I have always felt that whenever I first caught the thing. However, I think the event will give a lot of XP with the ticket and lucky eggs. It also can be done solo, so I will personally be participating. But, if the raid day was someone like Dreepy that would've been a banger.

This kind of reminds me of the Mega KangasKhan raid day. Useless ‘Mon but it was a shiny. I may or may not bother with the raids, depends on if I am busy. I certainly will not be blocking off time for this though.
it's a nice shiny and can be done for free and easy to do by yourself. not everything is about getting something for pvp. We are getting better events worth your precious time later on.

They don't always pick pokemon that are worth it. Almost all of the hisuian raid days were pointless in terms of meta relevancy they were just to get the shinies, so it's just another one of those raid days, nothing special.

Personally, I like Falinks, and excited about the shiny. But I agree, kind of a lackluster raid day. I'll be playing though.
I'll be getting the ticket to grind the xp for lvl 50
If you buy the ticket you’re not really grinding. You payed to get to level 50. That’s why i am ghe #1 trainer in the world. I grind all by myself
Yeah, skipping this one since I am doing Mega raids this time around with Houndoom, Gardevoir and Absol. Plus I'll save my money for Zacian shiny instead.

I've been playing since I was a child I have never stopped a day in my life (actually games first obviously this wasn't around when I was a kid) a shiny's is a shiny so I'll be participating period lol, especially bc it's been over 170 raids so far and no shiny nothing I haven't been able to get one since thunderous.
As an edit the very next raid I did was a shadow riakou had to drive an hour and a half away to a place that had a community and I finally broke the curse and got a shiny from it!!!!

Stupid to set the bar with the last raid day to have guarantee XL, and not do the same with this one. At least with guarantee XL I would still applause any garbage raid boss they give us
