Dark ash blonde is my natural haircolor and I spent my whole life being told it's ugly and mousey. Now it's a fad and a trend. Another reason to just ignore fads and trends and do what you like.
To have been told my entire youth by hair dressers I have "dirty dishwater blonde" like a "field mouse" - for it now to be a desired (and difficult to achieve!) look? So vindicating.
Me too except I hate it. I started changing my hair colour some way or another at 12 years old and I haven’t stopped since. I’ve been every hair colour and liked every one of em (even the crazy ones) more than my natural dingy colour
Thanks so much for saying it, HB! Dark blond hair is wayyy darker than people think. I have probably medium blond, but very, very, very dull and ash. It is not what anyone thinks it is and looks dark without the sun’s highlights. Almost purple more than the green that she showed. Put a red color that’s darker next to a blond color that’s ashy and the red color will look lighter due to its brightness. Thanks for another great video - I can now force myself out of bed! ❤
You are the reason I haven't done any impulsive things to my hair, In the past I would have just did it but NOW thanks to you I think it through so thank you 🙂
Hi, Hair Buddha! I have so much respect for you and your craft. I've had my hair all lengths (even fully shaved) and every color. You're so kind but you're not afraid to tell it like it is! Thank you and keep the content coming!
Thank you for all your great advice, Hair Buddha! I have completely given up on the idea of dyeing my hair at all 😑. Your wisdom has helped me learn to embrace my natural mix of ash blonde colors. I prefer to think of my natural blonde mix as a Scandinavian blonde 😊 Thanks again, Hair Buddha!
This was called “dirty blonde” and was my natural hair color till it recently got a lot blonder and streaked with silver. I didn’t like it and thought it was boring. I used to highlight the mess out of it. I think she did a decent job and love how she did all those strand tests. I agree Hair Buddha, this would save so many hair disasters.
Hair Buddha! I’ve been dying my hair for 16 years, bleaching for about 6. Today I bleached my roots and it is the best I’ve ever done it! Lots of sections and 20vol (checking every 5 mins) thank you! 💖
@@hair-buddhahi, i have one question, i do have bleached hair but after a month or so it is getting darker and darker. Do you know why that happens ?🙏🏼
Bleached hair is more porous, so it can grab minerals from hard water or styling products that make it look darker and dull. Try a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove build-up and use a leave-in conditioner for blonde hair to keep it hydrated.
Ash dark blonde is always green, even when it's natural! lol Also, Hair Buddha, check out DieHardBarbie. She used 7 vol, and Blonde Me to bleach her roots. Turned out great!!
I would say, finally !!! After destroying her hair many times. She does not like that I react to her vids so no reaction on that video. But I'm happy that the word of slow bleaching with low volume is starting to go around on TH-cam
Omg this is my exact hair color!! I’ve been growing it out for a year now. The roots feel soo healthy and thick compared to my bleached lengths ❤ best decision I’ve done, can’t wait to grow it out completely!
I speak for personal experience: N.6 is very dark. Darker than you expect. I mix 3/4 of n.7.1 with 1/4 of 6.1 to have a good light brown/dark blonde. Depending on your hair history, results may vary, so TEST BEFORE. What we consider a dark, cool blonde as consumers is different from producers see it. I think that's the most difficult shade to reach because of this misunderstanding. Always test before.
I achieved this exact shade she wanted by accident and love it. I had wanted to tone downyellowish tints as my toner wore off. I bought wella shinefinity 9.61 and 8.98 it is beautiful ash dark blonde. I love the shinefinity line now!
The chunks of hair she cut to test would be ALL of my hair! 😅...my hair so thin and fine...i love Buddha facial expressions 😂....never been a fan of this color
Have you sees the Loreal Colorsonic hair dyeing machine? Its suppose to be used to color at home with no mixing, bowls or brushes. You put in a color cartridge which contains developer as well. Its awful and very expensive. I would love to see your reaction to it. The channel Britnee Alexus bought and tested it. Saved us the time and money😂
I watch your videos everyday, you are so much fun, and give me so much information, I love rainbow hair, and I already choose my colors in one of your videos.
Thank you for the Blonde Me recommendation! I have been using stinky, icky Quick Blue for years and decided to give Blonde me a try per your advice. Not only does it have very little odor, it lightens so much better! And, with just 20 vol! 👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you!
I’ve had ash blonde done in 2 countries: ireland and S.Korea (I had thick dark Asian hair. In Ireland it was my Virgin hair, and I let it all grow out over years (it was hideous while growing out) then got the remainder from the ends cut off and so it was sorely my natural virgin hair again when I got it done in SK. In Ireland they did my “ash blonde” almost like a dishwater blonde? Like “dirty” blonde? Even a slight hint of VERY light brown in there in certain lights, and in SK it ended up basically a dark silver, almost grey. It is fascinating how the interpretation of shades differs from country, salon, individual stylist etc
For everyone who naturally has this hair color, it is very popular here in Korea!!! Always has been. I’ve never heard people say dirty dishwasher blonde or mousse etc. I have always found it nice and jealous of people who have this hair colour! I have bleached dark ash blonde and have to pay monthly to maintain it❤sorry for everyone who were bullied into thinking it was ugly. It is a beautiful color :))
I'm actually very proud of my virgin hair. I'm 37 so I have a little (a lot) of grey hairs but I actually like it. Here is the reason why: I have a auto-immuun disease and one of the symptoms is Alopecia unfortunately.. last year I had to cut my really long hair. The hairdresser never saw this type of alopecia before. It looked like elastic hair that was over processed from bleach. (I never bleached my hair though!) When I combed it after the shower it rolled up in a ball in the middle of my hair. I could take the "ball" out but it was VERY elastic. And it was A LOT of hair every time . Within a few weeks I just had strings on my head...I can't explain it very well.. I was devastated! I need to get injections and pills every 2 months for the disease and alopecia. I keep my hair at shoulder length now. My curls came back and it looks healthy. And I'm SO SO SO great full for that! Thank you Jurgen for all your great tips! You saved me and I'll be forever thankful ❤
I'm 45 and stopped dying my hair wien I experienced hair fall after getting sick. Whats grown in is beautiful and wavy and I'm also adoring the greys. ❤
Hair Buddha. I just used your link for blonde me bleach and developer yes only 20 vol😊 I also got some blonde me toners.and yes with 7 vol developer for those. Was that the right developer for the toners? I love your channel and all your videos. And yes I always take extra fine sections and Wait for the mids and ends to be done before I do the roots in a separate application only after I'm satisfied with the mids and ends before the root. By no means am I a professional but I've been doing hair for 30 years at home for me and my friends. Thank you for all your help
Loved her science experiment on the cut off hair strands, that is definitely a girl, whose messed her hair up badly before and decided to try and do it right this time, but she still did it wrong.
In my younger days (now 52 and greying) I used to have dark ash blonde hair. At school classmates used to tease saying I had "green hair". Ash blonde is a very difficult hue to achieve, in salon or at home. When greys started to show I tried, and the color was way too dark. I was never able to replicate my natural hair color, instead I settled for dark blonde for many years and then a cooler auburn as the dark blonde was turning too dark. Now I don't dye my hair anymore and my hair color is a very interesting grey hue, almost blondish.
👏 👏 great video! Thank youuuuuuu ! Can’t wait till the next one ! I have always had dark hair naturally and sometimes I think about going lighter . Then I see what happens on your videos . And change my mind. But today’s one looked good. Hmmm. Shall I buy some quick blue ? 😂 just joking
It is a little patchy.... But I'll be danged. the end result was wayyyyy better than I expected. Sometimes you take the long way around, but still get to where you are going (more or less lol)
I thought I was seeing things at the end because her eyes are a very black in the beginning and then hazel I guess at the end so I had a back up and look at it again and yeah, I’m not going crazy. She’s wearing contacts but I do like the color it’s pretty.
The sections really do need to be fine - people don’t realise how fine 😬 This is why you should go to a salon because you’d be there all day AND night! 😂
Hi hair buddha want your advice I have very long hair down to my thighs. I want something different as I have been dying my hair black box xye for as long as I can remember what's the best way to go about changing the colour I have never bleached my hair before xx
Hi, did someone have idea what color will get if i use silver L'Oréal professional conditioner on pinky peach hair. (Base its bleached by professional 9-10) ?
Blonde is not a colour it is a level. Generaly blonde begins at a level 6. Blonde can be dark, medium, light, extra light, ultra light. It can be ash, natural, beige, copper, strawberry, etc. Blonde is a lighness level 6 and above. Brown is 5 and below.
I have a dark blonde and only using a 7 because I think 6 is to dark. I wouldn't consider it's a blonde anymore. But I'm going for cool blonde so maybe that's why it looks darker. 😅

Always thought my hair was a brown, but most brown hair dyes are too red/yellow on me, then I remembered my mom used dark blonde hair dye so I'm probably also a dark ash blonde. I'm never quite sure what color my hair is because each brand has a different list of shades.
Literally me too!! I've always thought mine was a brown but watching these videos has made me reconsider. I suppose my hair turning a fairly light/medium blonde in summer as a kid should have been a clue 🤦🏻♀️

The thing she’s not seeing that a hairdresser can see is that the result she got is really uneven. The roots to midlengths are several shades darker than her ends. We would do this process probably in multiple appointments and aim to achieve an even result. I wouldn’t let someone leave my chair with a colour as uneven as that.
With Superman it’s Kryptonite. With Green Lantern it’s yellow. With Hair Buddha it’s Quickblue (with a side of Coconut Oil)
😂😂

Another example showing that there are no ugly people, only people whose beauty is not currently in trend
The infamous dishwater blonde 😂. Same here.
Same for me 😅
Yeah, me too! It's kind of strange to see people struggle to replicate a colour I have always had that wasn't "blond enough" or something.

Same! I used to be teased because my hair was "green".
My hairdresser said to me “You’re short and thick” I’m hoping he was talking about my hair
I often refer to my now-graying hair as "mouse brown."

No not at all, it doesn't go with her coloring looks very odd, I think darker hair looks better and less weird
Her makeup with the hair looked amazing ❤

Her hair was so pretty before. I guess it didn't look that terrible when finished but the extensions just looked cheap. I'd give it a 5 out of 10.
I think she's trying to understand the theory but she's color blind to ash-blonde for sure.
She needs to rebleach the dark areas for an even canvas before colouring 🤦🏽♀️
