Love your wreath, Victoria!!! Glad you are feeling better. Looks like Santa has brought you the "perfect gift" this year LOL Nice work on the drain, Ricky!! Keep cracking on. We'll be right here to see it. 😀
I completely agree! I've said this before but I absolutely love your channel. No matter what you're doing, your videos are fun, heart warming, educational and entertaining! Thank you for sharing your life in Portugal with us😊
If we were 50 years younger, maybe, just maybe, we would have been tempted to do something like this but at 80 l think we have left it a bit late😂😂! Loving watching you two instead! ❤
A+ on the wreath! It's so much better than any old store bought plastic piece of garbage----all natural from your own spot of land and beautiful to boot! Now, Poppy's reaction to the twinkly lights was heart warming (as was the news of the rescue dog) and both the puppies delight and yours brought quite the smile to this cat-owned human here in the US. Keep on, you all---you brighten up this old geezer's Sunday mornings.
Victoria, I just wanna start all saying that that wreath you made is absolutely gorgeous and the simplicity of it it is beautiful and you do have a hand for making things with all that hard work and what you’ve been doing in the building together it is just gorgeous. I want to say each time I see you working on it. I am just amazed at how much and what you’ve done but not really knowing what you’re doing. Is coming out beautiful I wish you a happy holiday and blessings of all the coming new year.❤
As usual another fun hard working day! I was wondering what type of door are you thinking about for the cottage? You did such a great job on the shutters! Looking forward to the next time!! Be good to yourselves!!
To fill the gaps between the stones, you can use a plastic bag, like a pastry bag. Make a hole and fill the spaces between the stones with the dough/cement, like a pastry chef.
I’m so glad you included the behind the scenes of Ricky being wrapped, it’s the first thing I thought when I saw it, “I hope there’s a wrapping behind the scenes!” 😂
Love watching both of you, you have a great relationship and a really good sense of humour. Lovely to hear about the dog finding a home, sorry about the digger what a pain. Great wreath Victoria and the lights looked so pretty x
Besides the French drain, it might be good idea to put a berm & swale at the backside of the building. Putting shrubs or (small) trees on the berm, about 3-5 meters from the building. Having the swale (>6 meters away) NOT horizontal as one would do with permaculture but slightly descending to left side. That way water is caught even more, the remaining water then goes away with the French drain. Not sure if a walking path is such a good idea if using tiles of sorts. Lovely to see the progress on the tiny building. happy holidays 😘🎄🎅
We’ve actually planned for a few berms with trees around the property but hadn’t considered any near the property purely because of fire safety come the summer. Some swales around the back could be beneficial though
Can’t get my old advertising days out of me system. “Ground hard. Work hard.” - There’s your next t-shirt gem. 😅 That wreath is fabulous! Love the air fryer for the oranges idea. Your Christmas gift humor was a great way to start my day, so thank you. ❤
Dear Ricky and Vicky, consider sealing the cracks below the line as well, but not with lime, but with cement, which will provide you with protection against moisture
You two are funny!! Great work on the wreath, nice and lush. Next year maybe grow some red chili peppers and add them too. Excellent pointing and some serious heavy lifting with all that digging and hauling.
We actually grew some early this year but they’ve all been harvested already! Good idea for next year though! Get some Christmassy red tones on the wreath
It can’t be very cold if the bees are out. The wreath is very pretty. You did a great advertisement on the gifts. I appreciate your and Ricky’s many talents.
What about using the corrugated black pipe (about 4 or 5 inches wide) with holes in the top to run in your ditch, then cover with gravel so water can go down in the piping and then out wherever you end the piping.
Hi to you both. Am pleased to know Victoria is well. In fact, you both look on fine form. Loved Poppy's excitement when the lights went on and the wreath looks beautiful. We bought a Christmas tree today. Despite it being an awful weather day in south east UK, the shops were very busy. Hope you enjoyed the luxury of the new mattress. See you both next time x
How about a show on where you both came from and your background on where you used to work? Also how about family members from both sides? Parents grandparents siblings. I love your channel!❤
Your wreath is lovely Victoria and your gifted wrapped hulk was so funny at the end. You both sure know how to make us happy. Have a lovely week and have a great night sleep, I am sure your bodies will enjoy that new mattress.
You are so creative and cool. I love the fact you created this stunning door floral wreath with only local, compostable elements apart from the metal. It looks amazing without destroying the planet. Small joys!
I just popped in to wish you both seasons greetings. Have a good long rest and don’t be away too long we shall miss you. Oh ok then, maybe a month tops 😋. We shall look forward to new adventures in the new year. Give those two dogs of your a big hug from us here in Australia where we are already suffering unknown tropical weather the past eight weeks, ugh, it’s been 98% humidity, heaps or rain and we are over it. Merry Christmas from Brisbane. 🇦🇺❤️🐕🐕👫❤🇦🇺
Challenges of Reno restoration .......glad doggy found home ...rescue centers are important.....all stone ...you must be tired by night fall comes. Looks stunning ...🇨🇦♾️
Welcome back to health Victoria! You brighten Sunday morning. I like that you incorporate nature throughout the video and create a sense of peace. Thank you.
Sending you both hugs for bringing me joy. Watching your lovely relationship during this interesting project is heartwarming. America is in the worst state it could ever be and your videos take me across the waters to a kinder place. 🫶
You two are such hard workers, I love your videos, your sense of humour & am in awe of how you just get on with things without moans, even when you’re obviously hurting or not well. Victoria you have six lovely hands & beautiful nails despite all the hard work & your wreath is just stunning, don’t sell yourself short!! Hugs from Johannesburg, South Africa
I love tha plans you have come up with . You two have a good plan , well thought out. It will be comfortable to live in, and done professionally. Your chanel is a favorite of mine. ❤❤❤❤
I am still chuckling about Ricky all wrapped up.🤣🤣 Lots of hard work both of you. Sad news about the digger. Wonderful news about the dog being rehomed. Hope you are going to have a rest one day. Soon.🩷🩷❤❤❤🫶🤣🤣🤣👏
Just think, this is your last Xmas sleeping in your stone house. Next Xmas you’ll be sleeping in this stunning stone cabin, and I for one am so excited to see this project rocket forward in 2025. Once the floor goes in there’s no more chasing sunsets, you’ll be in there after dark with your infectious motivation. Can’t wait to see it all unfold, merry Xmas to you 4 from us here at the Hayes homestead in Aus.
Wow well done Ricky & Victoria, it's coming along nice, we hope to achieve such special moments like yours too on our new Homestead Lifestyle we starting in our new land in 2025 here in Fundao, Portugal, we can't wait. Sending love to you both 😘
I think the prickly plant is a male Butcher's Broom, or Pica-Ratos (mouse pricker). It's related to asparagus, despite its shrubby appearance, and the leaves are modified stems, not true leaves. The female plants develop red berries.
And the christians living in western turkey use the female plants as christmas decoration, either as part of wreaths, or lay branches horizontally as christmas table decoration. They do last quite long, well over the new year.
Everything in your video was absolutely delightful, just as you both are! I loved your jewelry commercial! The Ricky self gift wrap was hilarious 😂The hand crafted wreath was beautiful ❤❤❤Merry Christmas ❤
Your wreath is beautiful. I have a suggestion for you for doing the pointing. You should try putting the pointing material in a heavy duty plastic bag and then cut the tip off the bag and squeeze the material into the gaps. You will be able to get the material deeper into the gaps making for a more successful filling.
Love you both. Sitting here with a smile on my face and enjoying your jokes, your lovely way to treat eachother, your willingness . Looking forward to every episode. Have a wounderful Christmas ❤
Hi so nice to see you again I have to say you are such hard worker And Victoria great to see you well again And back working again like a trooper I wish you all a wonderful Christmas
So happy to see Victoria up and about and better. Love the wreath Victoria and the christmas lights. Here's to many a happy relaxing comfortable nights sleep xxxx
I keep on forgetting to write…I think you both are such a “cute” and cool couple. I really enjoy your interactions with each other. Great job as you work together.
So tenacious. Bravo for all the solutions you came up with to solve these issues. Lots of levity here too! what you are creating will be a visual work of art as well.Restoration Extraodianre.

The Oil is low in the generator and it has an automatic cut of sensor. Jim
Great work as always, but thanks for the greater laughs!!! You really made my day. Love and hugs 🥰🥰
🥰 happy to be of service!😊

Gift wrapped Ricky was such a fun touch. You folks know how to keep a smile. Glad to hear about the little dog find her forever home. So good. ❤🎉
I’m so glad you included the behind the scenes of Ricky being wrapped, it’s the first thing I thought when I saw it, “I hope there’s a wrapping behind the scenes!” 😂

Have to confess that i wouldn't have got as much work done as Ricky because Victoria is so charming to watch.
So glad you are up and about, Victoria, and feeling better. You and Ricky have accomplished so much. So enjoy watching you. Looking beautiful.

@@LifebyLiving Does my berm look big in this?
It was your kindness to animals that attracted me early on to your channel. You are special people.
me, too
That’s kind of you to say Carol but I don’t think we’re special. I think lots of people share our compassion for animals, especially dogs!

Dear Ricky and Vicky, consider sealing the cracks below the line as well, but not with lime, but with cement, which will provide you with protection against moisture
Victoria you work so hard. Filling that ditch was tremendous.
When doing french drains more is better. Meaning deeper and wider is better than narrow and shallow. Happy to see the boss feeling better.
I think your little former pig stye is going to be one of the prettiest cottages in Portugal. I love how its looking.
Wreath is a work of art.
The self wrap was very clever.
Best video ever!

Thanks! Yeah we should clarify that when we say “cold” we’re meaning Portuguese cold aka not really that cold!😂
The wreath is so beautiful, and I agree with Poppy on the lights! Glad to see you're feeling better, Victoria. Thanks, guys, for and the laughs🤩
The last cuttings are Butchers Broom. Aka Wild Myrtle 👍🏻
Victoria you are so talented The wreath is absolutely stunning 😍
Thank you!😊
The fastest half an hour. Love the videos 😊 great to see Vicky is not Dicky
Beautiful wreath Victoria, Poppy is such a sweetheart.
What about using the corrugated black pipe (about 4 or 5 inches wide) with holes in the top to run in your ditch, then cover with gravel so water can go down in the piping and then out wherever you end the piping.

Ahhh we haven’t had a Christmas tree in years now! Miss it! Hope the weather perks up for you this week 😊
Hubby and I enjoy watching you both living and doing one task at a time or two or three whatever the day calls for.
The dogs are cuddles on paws 🥰🥰
How about a show on where you both came from and your background on where you used to work? Also how about family members from both sides? Parents grandparents siblings. I love your channel!❤

You are so creative and cool. I love the fact you created this stunning door floral wreath with only local, compostable elements apart from the metal. It looks amazing without destroying the planet. Small joys!
you should consider performing a horizontal chemical iniection into this wall. you might have problems with humid traveling through that wall
What a beautiful wreath, Victoria! Sometimes hodgepodge items make the best things to work with. Along with the patio you’re all set for Santa.❤
glad you're fealing better, Victoria! happy sunday :)
Your joy in the project, the simple things and in each other is such a comfort to watch. Well done on the wreath!!

Glad you are feeling better Victoria. Well done on how far you got with the dig without the digger help. Good luck on completing the dig 😊😊😊

Gorgeous wreath & festive lights!!!🎉😂Happy Christmas!
You are definitely the Christmas Hulk! 💪💪💪
Such a fun couple to watch! Merry Christmas!!
You Guys work so hard and with such a cheerful manner, love watching your progress, thank you .

It’s much quicker with a grout bag but not advisable for lime as the mix has to be too wet & can separate the lime from the sand
The wreath is gorgeous 😍😍,
Great job Victoria 👏👏👏
You are both hard workers.
I think “stubborn” is the word you’re looking for Charlotte 😂
The lights look amazing x you two messing around together are delightful xxx
Love you both. Sitting here with a smile on my face and enjoying your jokes, your lovely way to treat eachother, your willingness . Looking forward to every episode. Have a wounderful Christmas ❤
