Always a treat to watch! I built an under stairs playroom for my first two grandchildren. It’s still there with their artwork nine grandchildren later. The two oldest are off to college. Time flies, ENJOY❤️
Thank you, Deborah! Your under-stairs playroom sounds like such a treasure trove of memories-what a legacy for your grandchildren! Time really does fly. Sending love your way! ❤️
Wow, your channel became my favourite TH-cam channel as fast as the speed of light. It never happened before, it must be your great taste and love for decoration, design, etc… You both are so talented, I can’t wait for your next episode.
I just love what you can thrift there…..so such thing here in Singapore 😂. I also love how you show how you incorporate the pieces into your home. The kids cubby is absolutely gorgeous ❤
Thank you! We feel so lucky to have such great thrift finds nearby-it’s always an adventure! So glad you enjoyed the cubby-it’s become such a special spot for the kids. ❤️
Love, love the Swedish tradition of putting lights in the windows! Love your flea market finds too. My eyes were drawn to the two red shaded lamps when you walked in the door of the first one. Amazing job on the kids’ hideaway! Such a talented couple. Carpet underlay is the English word you were looking for. I think your barn attic is really a secret flea market. 😊
Thank you so much for your sweet comment! Those red-shaded lamps were so tempting, weren’t they? We’re so glad you enjoyed the hideaway-it was such a labor of love! 😊
Great cubby hole for the children with soft landings everywhere, excellent design and execution. I can never tire of second hand shopping, the hunt and then the find is always thrilling.
Thank you so much! We wanted the cubby to feel as cozy and inviting as possible, and those soft landings are perfect for little ones. Totally agree-thrifting is like a treasure hunt, and the joy of finding something special never gets old! 😊
I love the kid's secret room. Thank you so much for all the wonderful projects you take on and let us watch. You have taught us so much! You have the most wonderful, refined taste in all that you do!
Thank you so much, Frank! We're thrilled that you enjoyed the secret room-it was such a fun project. Your kind words truly mean the world to us! 😊 What a blessing to have you follow us along on this adventure!
I love all your findings but on top of all I love the fern plant on the table on the minute 10:40 , please take care of it as it is Perfect, please keep including this plant in your video. Blessings to all, we love your channel.
Thank you, Claudia! We’re so glad you enjoyed it. Having help always makes the projects even more fun (and doable seeing as I'm far gone with the pregnancy 😅), and we love sharing these little transformations with you all. 😊
The kids cubby will be a perfect entertainment / quiet space when the baby arrives. It looks so cosy. My kids would want to camp overnight in there 😂 Touch lamps might be fun to replace the study lamps ( my kids loved those also). Another great video. I had to laugh when I saw your child being towed vigorously on a toboggan In the snow....our equivalent in Austalia is pulling the kids on a boogey board in the surf 😂 Fun is universal ❤
Just love the cubby hole, with cosy walls…when we were kids we use to put blankets over the dining table and use that as a hideout!, Love your wooden lamp bases. l love the way you just do things..and together. You could use it as a soundproof room when you want peace for yourselves..date night !!!! 🤗🤗🤗🌳
I love Orrefors glass and my eyes grew so wide when you showed that lamp base,I’m so happy you bought it…it’s stunning! 😍 lots of wonderful finds again, particularly the brass candle holder (I know it’s going to be a much loved gift) and those glass jars I would have also grabbed, but for me they would have been for the pantry …I never would have thought to use them for display like you did so beautifully..again you’ve taught me something about thinking differently when decorating! 🫶 The children’s hideaway is wonderful, and thinking to use underlay on the walls was a brilliant idea to soften the space and also provide warmth and some soundproofing! Thank you all for another fantastic video! 🥰
Thank you so much! The Orrefors lamp was such a lucky find, wasn’t it? 😊 We’re thrilled you enjoyed the hideaway and the soundproofing tip-it really made the space extra cozy! ❤️
Always a joy to watch your projects come to life! Fun thrifting with the girls as well but what fun to thrift in your own attic space!!!! Your Orrefors lamp base is a real jewel....thought it might be Kosta Boda but charming! Kids new cubby will give them a place to hide and create as well....plus even a nap or two! Just wandering when new baby is coming? Excellent start to the new year! Cheers! Skal!
Thank you, Jill! Thrifting in the attic definitely has its perks-sometimes it feels like we’re unearthing hidden treasures! The Orrefors lamp was such a great find, and we’re thrilled with how the cubby turned out-it’s already a favorite spot for the kids. As for the baby, not too long now! Expected due date in early Feb! 😊 Cheers and Skal to you too!
Thank you, Kristine! We’re so happy to hear you love it. It was a labor of love, but seeing the kids already enjoying it makes all the effort worthwhile. ❤️👏
Glass lamp from a great company is a great find and very lovely. I hoped you would buy it. As a kid, I made several different hideaways in my family home. Fixed them up by myself. I spent most of my time there reading. The younger kids will love their revamped cubby. Happy New Year and much love from 72 year old grandma that has spent time in Sweden and loved it there ❤
Loved how It turned out, what a special place for the kids. We love Bluey, but where is Pippi Longstocking🤔Looking forward to the transformation of the pantry on the other side.
Thank you, Ricardo! Haha, we absolutely LOVE Bluey! Pippi Longstocking might just be hiding around the corner! 😉 We’re so excited to tackle the pantry transformation next! Stay tuned!
That is so cool!! Perfect for tired moms or kids and thoughtful aunts 🥰 Very cute little space! I love your thrift finds!! It’s so fun to see how you use them, as all of the details add so much warmth and character to the rooms! You are both so incredibly talented and creative, it’s very inspiring!! And the grounds there are just magical!! Thank you so much for sharing 😊 I am already looking forward to seeing next week’s episode!
Wonderful space for your children, a little hideaway 👏👏your thrift stores look amazing, your purchases were great. Thank you for sharing ❤❤your vlogs are so enjoyable 🙏
What a wonderful idea for the children. Makes me sad I didn’t do something like this for my children. You two always come up with the most creative ideas. Thanks for another great video. Sending sunshine 🌞
Thank you, Cheryl! It’s never too late to create cozy spaces. Your words mean so much, and we’re so glad you enjoyed the video! Sending sunshine back your way! 🌞
Brovo !!! What a family team project ! Love the lighting from the thrift shop. Definitely not a elephant in a cubby hole.. I'd say a dedicated mother far along making something for her children; when she could/should be laying down. . Love you guy's!! ❤
Amazing work again guys! Loved that glass lamp find Kristina and the kids cubby hole is so magical. Although I think you’re onto something with the idea of a parent version too! 😂
THANKS! 🙏🏻 The cubby hole has quickly become the kids’ favorite spot! We'll just have to battle the kids over the current cubby hole until we've completed the parent version!
I noticed two possible air vent openings in that adorable new kids' cubby. One was square with a slotted cover in the wall that backs the pantry, the other was a round hole under the stairs. Did you have those there for air circulation for the kids while they are inside or are you making a rule to keep the door open for fresh air when they are playing in there???
Great observation! Yes, the vents are intentional-they allow for better air circulation inside the cubby, keeping it fresh and cozy even when the door is closed. And it lets cold air in from the foundation (right hand vent) and flows into the pantry (through the left-hand vent), and from there up and out. With that said, we also encourage the kids to keep the door open when they’re playing for extra airflow. Thanks for noticing-it’s always fun when people pick up on those little details! 😊
Happy New Year friends! The under the stairs place is so nicely decorated (for any age) and cozy. I love how The candle sconces fit so well on the wood in the doorway. Love to all ❣️
Great hideout for the kids - it appears that it is right off the study. Have a fun space Maybe kids can find lamps for the space by going Thrift Shopping and choose it themselves - one for her & one for him. I'm sure you will find a Parent hideout at some point that you will enjoy rehabbing.
Thank you, Sallie! You’re right-it’s right off the study, which makes it easy for them to feel connected. Love your idea of letting the kids thrift for their own lamps! And yes, a parent hideout sounds like a dream...maybe one day! 😉
I'm hooked on your channel. Your eye for detail is on point, as your interior skills/vision. There's nothing I haven't liked so far, all things I would choose or have in my own home (albeit not a manor house, hee). Look forward to seeing the 2025 renos. x
Julie, thank you so much for your kind words! We’re so glad you’re along for the journey, and we can’t wait to share all the exciting 2025 projects with you! x
Nice cubby , brave to place the stripe horizontal but it looks great and a perfect reuse of a curtain panel. What is the color in the room that looks like a plum?/ Burgundy?
The kids' hideout is such a great space. Might I make a suggestion? Put up some LED color-changing strip lights add a bean bag and a cassette player. I know you are probably not completely finished, just thought I'd add my 2 cents. 💌
I always wanted to do that for my kids but I have an open staircase so I could not. I am intriged about who lives or what are the buildings either side of you chateau used for? You always find the best things! Love the fact that you bought the Orefors lamp. I liked the second one that was there too! Don’t know if you have the right shade for it. I think a high cilyndrical shap would be better.I have some glass/ crystal things like that from when we got married in 1973. Swedish glass was all the rage then. Still have a beautiful crystal fruitbowl that in 1973 costed 45 euro! That was quit a chunk of money then. As a nurse I urned 200 euro’s a month. Sadly it lives since decades in my basement.could that christening bowl be an wine cooler? With the grapes around the base?
Thank you, Christine! Sweden really does leave a lasting impression, doesn't it? 😊 Your childhood hideaways sound magical, and we’re so glad the cubby brought back those memories. Wishing you a wonderful New Year filled with love and joy! ❤️
You may have felt like an elephant in that small space but you certainly did not look like one. You are beautiful and you do pregnancy we grace and bit of determination. 💛💚💙 High Regards, Shelly
@SwedishManorLife i would never say that myself... in the video you said you felt like an elephant... I just wanted you to know how beautiful you are to those who watch and learn from you.
The outside footage is magical! Love the cubby hole. Your children will love it and its privacy. Great finds as well at the thrift shop.
Thank you! They have already taken over the space and made it their own! 🥰
Every child needs a hiding place. Love it ❤️
Yes, they most definitely do! 💫🙏🏻☺️
Always a treat to watch! I built an under stairs playroom for my first two grandchildren. It’s still there with their artwork nine grandchildren later. The two oldest are off to college. Time flies, ENJOY❤️

Carpet underlay is the English word you were looking for.
I think your barn attic is really a secret flea market. 😊

I love what you've done for the children. It's a gorgeous cubbyhole. The carpet underlay is a brilliant idea for those walls.
Thank you! Yes, the underlay really does the trick!
One of the great things about big houses is being able to create little hidden spaces. Love them.
The larger the house, the more little nooks and crannies you need ☺️
Once upon a time there was a childhood dream.... Very well and cozy done 🙃
This are one of those things your kids will always remember. TOPPEN!
Thank you! It’s certainly a dream come true for us to make it for the kids - and we really hope they will create great memories in it! 😊

Maybe kids can find lamps for the space by going Thrift Shopping and choose it themselves - one for her & one for him.

Härlig koja för barnen 😀
Verkligen! 🤗
I saw a pair of these on Ebay or Etsy? For over AU$3K. So very good buy. 👍
Wow! Really?! Well, in that case - what a find, indeed!
Nice cubby , brave to place the stripe horizontal but it looks great and a perfect reuse of a curtain panel.
What is the color in the room that looks like a plum?/ Burgundy?
Thank you! It worked out well! I’m not sure exactly what color you are referring to?
@SwedishManorLife
Was it the library where you placed the new lamp?
@@3_3645 Ah, yes. That’s a warm red/brown color that we have mixed
Again the beautiful pillows on the sofa in the study! Where did you buy them (If I may ask nicely😊)..
You may! And we reserve such info (and more!) for our Patreons! 🤗😘
HOW PICTURESQUE IS THE HOUSE NESTLED IN THE SNOW!
It’s amazing! 😄🤗
“I like a big base and I can not lie…”. 😂
”You other brothers can’t deny!” Haha 😄
