I stole 2 snakeplants leaves from neighbour's and now my own 2 snakeplants are growing after 3'5months 😂😂❤
Lmao
😂
I see snacks plant in my neighbour house 😂so I searched and this video recommended me 😂 I am also trying to stole but I am waiting for right moments 🤧
@@khandokeryeasha226 English.
I stole one from our neighbors roadside and now it is growing well in my pot
I root them in water and always seems to work with a little patience.
I also put mine in the water but they started to look like leaves are soaked in water
@@My_thoughts_20the cutting may have not calloused over well enough. I have had that happen, and the cutting begins to rot and get soggy. Make sure it’s well calloused, or trim off the soggy bottom and try again. Hope this helps! 😊
@@jaimewhitaker7655does that mean dry it out longer?

This is how I do it. I've had good results but it takes 6+ months. But when those pups pop up... so exciting.
I agree. It takes some time, but very rewarding. Thanks for watching.
6 Months??? 😢
Great demo! I love the way you explain, ans SAY what's printed in the BIG captions! I only wish you'd let captions stay up about ½ second longer because I often can't read that fast! Not to mention that means the picture is going fast, too. I can't read along AND look at what's happening simultaneously.😬
🌿🌿🌿
Very nice.
Thank you. Sorry, just trying to put as much info in the vid as possible and make it entertaining at the same time. Thanks for watching. Much appreciated.

Valaikum
Not all cuttings take, and it takes a looooong time. I think I have one going on 5 months and all I have is 1/8 of roots. Oh well at least its not dead or yellow.
It does take patience.
Same.
❤❤❤❤
Love your style, right to the point!❤
Took me 3-4 months for pups to appear.. But it's worth it
It's not that easy. As many of them won't grow
Practice makes perfect. Key is to control the water.
So true, I have lost several leaves.
@@monstrofarm what do you mean?
Control water means?
@@mitaly7167ike putting too much water or too little water
I think you will need the root tissues. Don't just cut leaves.
Hi great info, some other videos don’t mention about the drying part, how important is drying the new cut before propagation? Or can I get away with just plonking it in water?
Thank you. It's one of things that you do to increase the probability of it rooting, and doesn't take a lot of effort just a little patience. You might not wait for it to callous over and it might root. And next time it might not. Just a step to increase our chances. Great question by the way, I'm sure others as the same. Thanks for watching. Much appreciated.
I will try this again, the last one dident take, 🌱🌵🌵🌿
You can do it!
hay aapka snake planner very very good
So it will grow? A neighbor of mine was throwing out a leaf, and I snagged it from their trash and threw it in a pot with potting mix. That was like 3 weeks ago. It looks alive. But nothing is growing yet. I love this plant. I think it’s cool looking.
Keep continue
I’m about to propagate mine like he demonstrates
Good luck.
So nice ❤
What’s the ratio of who buys the plant vs who steals the leaves to make their own?
this is verry informative :)
Glad it was helpful!
yeah mine took like 1.5 years to actually grow multiple leaves
They can take a while but giving them a little fertilizer can go a long way.
CAREFUL: if you propagate this variety (Laurentii) by leaf cutting, it will lose the characteristic yellow stripe on the outside. To keep it propagate by separating the plant into several parts, leaving the leaves with root whole.
Found this out the hard way. Also stupidly, the offsprings didn't receive much light the first few years so there's bunch of thin leaves now. I bought a pretty sized, normal looking snake plant a year ago and put the older one next to it so it's no so bad anymore.
Anyway, your comment should be at the top.
New plants are coming out with same variegated ??
For how long does it take for roots to develop? Weeks or months? I have a snake plant-leaf in water and it is just brown at the bottom 😢 Should I make a ’new cut’ and try again? It’s cut in an angle
It depends on the environment. If it's brown and mushy on the cut I would try again. When you cut the leaf let it sit for about 2 days to allow the cutting time to callous. You don't always have to do this, but it will help. Good luck this time.
Thank you for this!
How do you disinfect the pruning shears?
Spray with Rubbing alcohol
That and wipe it clean from any visible dirt.
What’s a propagation mix?
What happens if you just chop the leaves 28” above the roots? A friend just sent me a pic of a box planter where they hedged Sanseveria like a boxwood shrub
New frequency 😮
Can you do this with other plants?
what's the best soil to use?
How long should I be patient? A month? 3?6?12? Why isn't anyone specific a little
The only problem with this is that the snake plant offsprings coming from the cutting won't ever have the yellow sides. The only way to get the yellows is to separate a leaf with the roots from the root node.
💚🌱💚❕‼️❕👍🏽
Thank you very much. 😊
What is a “propagation mix” please give links
What is a propagation mix?
What sanseveria type is this? 😍😍
i'm like what the hell is propagation
Did you know you sound like ‘Creative_explained’ guy 😂
Okay
I've tried propagating in water twice but none lasted...they all got soggy...I guess I'll have to try soil...I wish the water prop would work because they usually root faster.. 🤔
Did you let them callous or not? I don't but was curious.
@@monstrofarm I thought I did but maybe I should have let them stay out to dry over for longer ..what is the most effective amount of time to allow this?
One to two days. Like I said I don't but maybe that will help. Good luck.@@kbm4409
@@monstrofarm thank you
Why callous over?
It is recommended, but I have had great success not doing so. May be my other conditions allow me to do so.
My sanseveria doesn't want a lot of water, the roots got rotten...I water it every other day or as the soil is dry that's the time to water it, and btw some says it shouldn't be placed on a direct sunlight, so mine is just in the meadow.
My snake plants are place direct sunlight. Within 1 month i got 2 babies.
Please watch my longer video on TH-cam.
No idea if you gave up already, but the snake plant comes from very hot environments with little water. Water it once a month and give it a good sip, not every other day. Also it needs plenty of light, with direct sunlight maybe 2-4 hours a day.
If i plant one than will it multiply?
Yes. From one cut, 1 1/2 yrs later, I now have 6 nice leaves and a healthy plant. 😊
Now it is a Dracaena
P.S: I am commenting this on 31 March,ie,just before 1st April😊
Whats that white thing in the soil
perlite.
I planted a snake plant leaf in a big plastic cup and I'm thinking of making holes on the bottom
I would. You need drainage.
Aku sudah melakukanya selama 2bulan dan belum tumbuh satupun
I am growing that leaf in water.... it will grow right?
Yes it should grow but will lose variegation if it has any now.
I tried this three times already and each time they all died
So, I’ve been told if you try to propagate a yellow sans, then it will revert back to a green. Is that your experience?
Correct as variegated snake plant when propagated by leaf cutting will revert. Try propagating by division and this won't happen. Good luck.
@@monstrofarm What does "propagating by division" mean in simple english?
@@PowerRedBullTypology Separate the leaves with roots intact, that's the only way to keep the yellow sides intact with the offspring. If you do it like in the video, the offspring always have only green leaves.
If i don't give bright indirect light?
It may not root or it will take longer.
leaf propogation does not reproduce variation
Correct it does not. 👍
I tried this, and it didnt work😢
For how many days once should we water it?
After first watering, water when soil is completely dry.
Once a month, maybe a bit sooner if you live in hot environments. Just check that the soil is dry from quite deep.
Ohhh. Let them dry for 2days. Oh Okay
It increase the probability of rooting.
Jaja, 2 years, if you have luck
You can grow them in water
Yes you can. Good luck.
