This game is kinda about how such traumatic experience haunt your memories.
Everywhere she gone, she couldn't escape, she can't escape from her own memory.
And this stains everything around her.

Even though the abuse I went through is not nearly as severe as that of Lisa's, I still find her experience disturbingly relatable. I can picture vividly the real ear-grating sounds she must have heard, the stench she must have been choked by, the disgusting image of someone who's supposed to be her Father. I can imagine how repulsed, afraid, and alone she feels. Poor girl.

A lot of great games where made on that engine, including Yume Nikki, OMORI, the entire LISA series, etc. It's not an engine that should be underestimated, it honestly tends to be one the best in terms of storytelling, surprisingly.
This is probably the worst case scenario. Abuse can be really subtle. Why? So that no one believes the victim.

We're focusing on little stuff right now since we're just starting up again: I'll be focusing on this series while Andrew focuses on RP2 to help diversify the content and we're helping each other work to maintain consistency. The first goal we're aiming for is 20K Subscribers which is right on the horizon and we hope to achieve by the middle of September. Haven't really thought of much past that, so I guess we'll see where we are then!

Something I don't understand about the first game, Lisa had a depiction of Marty as a happy, loving father. This implies two things, one being extraordinarily more likely than the other. The first being that this is the depiction of Marty she wishes he was. The problem with this is that it implies that she has some sort of real basis for that sort of a relationship (which I'll get into the problems of in a moment.) The other is that this is the way Marty used to treat her, and that something changed in him.
The problems with both of these outcomes is that Lisa has been treated by Marty this way since she was a baby. This is proven by Marty's appearance in the beginning of Lisa the painful, where Marty is already an abusive drunk and Lisa is in her crib in the house. So where would this depiction of Marty come from?
maybe in Lisa the first Marty used to be nice but maybe Lisa the painful it was changed
perhaps the crude depiction of a happy marty is the idealized father figure lisa’s mind has created that she wishes she had?

My abusive father was multifaceted, and I had some good memories with him in addition to the horrific ones. I was totally trapped in the darkness and the only moments of light I had were some of the rare ones he chose to create. When I was young I wished things could be better, like they occasionally were when he was calm. Maybe this scene kinda speaks to that emotional reality that I experienced.
For anyone wondering, I'm really healthy and happy now. I confronted my pain with the help of a terrific support network. I also haven't had anything to do with my father for over a decade now. He's still is that same abusive way, but he doesn't actually have anyone to abuse anymore. He's driven everyone out of his life with his manipulative shit. He's never confronted his honestly evil actions, or his anger, or his anxiety. If I had to guess, he'll probably die alone or in the company of people like him.
Don't be like him, he let a lifetime of baggage crush him and let his emotions take control. He was too weak to be a good father or a good person. If you have that darkness inside of you like he does, or I did, you need to fight it. You need to be better for yourself, and especially for others who depend on you. It takes work to learn your shortcomings and learn the lessons you need to overcome them, but it's absolutely worth it. If you have no idea where to start, look at your parents and see where they fall short. There's a good chance you're weak in the same ways they are.

I think that Marty used to be a decent father when Brad and Lisa were very young, but then after becoming addicted to pain pills, he changed. He became uncaring, selfish and abusive. This may be why Lisa has a select few pleasant memories of him, yet we still see Brad be abused by him in Lisa: The Painful. This would make sense to me, anyway. I've watched and am now rewatching this story retelling series, you did a very excellent job :)

Lisa is such an innocent girl who didn't have many people to rely on because her brother left her and the only person left was buzzo and dingaling said that she did love him but manipulated him as well lisa needed anyone to give her the strength to continue living her life but her father is a selfish monster that carved his way into her mind until she can't forget about him, and when she died buzzo blamed her for what he has done to dusty even when dusty is innocent and kind child like lisa plus killing an innocent men what a jerk
Lisa abused Buzzo by making him cut her and himself, I wouldn’t say she’s completely innocent but it’s understandable because of the life she suffered.
I know Lisa: The Painful was supposed to be a game called The Last Matador, and turned in a Lisa game in the end stages, but the stylistic, and gameplay, disconnect between this game and the sequel, it is noticable. Like for example, you created AO Oni made it standalone, then created Retro City Rampage, made the main character related to him, give him(the main character) grief over the main character of AO Oni and made him fight the Oni as a climax boss.

Lisa was very broken (Marty is absolutely to blame for it), she was a violent sadomasochist who manipulated Buzzo into an insane love and vendetta and committed acts of tremendous violence for her short existence.

Yeah, the way this game fits into the chronology of the series as a whole is pretty weird. Information in this game is refuted by the more recent ones (as you noted). This is the main reason why I never included information about the later games in this video (and vice versa). It does make it hard to place and explain things, so I've always kind of looked at it pretty loosely, a sort of "rough draft" of the greater story. Instead of taking the details in this game as truth, they're kind of "guidelines". I hope that kind of makes sense. Lol.
For your first question, the best explanation/thought/theory I can give is that since the game takes place entirely in Lisa's mind, the images she has of "Good Marty" are how she sees him and feels about him when he's at his best; when he's not an abusive piece of shit or a perverted pedophile. Those are rare moments which could explain their scarcity.
The second question kind of ties into what I was saying before. The details of this game aren't super important, so I tend to not dwell too much on getting that stuff to line up with this game.
For the last point, the thing I understand about abuse is that it's never really about looks. It's about the power feeling. He doesn't care what she looks like, he cares that he can exert dominance over her. That's why he stops her from escaping, he won't have power over her anymore.

I'm guessing that marty has molested/raped Lisa a few times now and when she got to meet buzzo she asked him to cut her face after that she hanged herself.
The tea party is like stated in the video a memory to reveal their relationship possibly even an unreal memory of what she wished their relation would be. Love and hate are pretty close together in actuality. And the part about not leaving the house is a metaphor for not ratting him out. It means at the start she could only escape from her prison if she disobeyed the clear directive "Go to your room". If she had a friend that probably means she confided or at least partially shared her pain with him. The father kept doing that because he objectified her, that's what many predators do, cease to treat their victims as persons and just see them as a means to sexual gratification.
I love the couch sitting right before the path away from Lisa’s house. It’s a nice way to hint towards the upcoming dread of coming across her father again and entering the tv static red area.

This game series makes me sad, and its those kinds of games that i love. Not edgy over the top gameplay, but simple stuff that can make a great impact just on lore alone, graphics are only the icing! Games today have it backwards, and the people that buy them

Lisa could have became some sort of demon but thats just a crazy theory i have where she either has her dna in the joy or has literally became a demon and invades the minds of those closest to her.
