Asante sana Bwana. Childhood memories. Back in the day in Kampala, my Uncle would play such nice songs every weekend. Allow me to help translate the phrases with french words (I've put approximate pronunciation of the french word in brackets): " Nasekaka n'importe comment te papa" ( nimpot koma)...the whole phrase translates: "Papa, I don't laugh anyhow. "C'est serieux Ibrahima, nabandi kolinga yo" ( sey serio)....meaning, "it's serious Ibrahim. "C'est tout a fait nazongi muana moke..." (se toot ah fey). The French phrase "C'est tout a fait" translates to English as, " absolutely". "Lelo nazongeli plaisir ya kolinga" ( playzee). The French word, plaisir translates to pleasure/joy Sam Mangwana dedicates the song to Tabu Ley, who was still around when this was done. He says, towards the end, "Au souvenir de 'Sir' Seigneur, Ley". "Seigneur"( senyoo) is a french word which means "master".
This was a hit. I remember them those days, early 1980s I enjoyed listening to these songs by neighbors who had record players and cassettes in KOMBEWA HOSPITA, Seme.
Great great translation!! This version is rather rhythmic after the magical touch of the Pigeon. Mangwana has a whole chapter in history with his immense contribution in the development of Rhumba

Ibrahima by Tabu Ley Lingala and English lyrics:
Pesa nga liloba ya suka
Give me your last word
Tika kosala enzembo papa
Dont frustrate me
Mwasi abandaka mobali te
A woman does not approach a man
Nabandi yo, eloko etindi ngai nayebi te
I have approached you, I dont what has sent me or where the courage has come from
Nazalaka na lolendo na nzoto na nga
Im a very proud person
Koseka te soki eyeyi nga epayi na yo lamuru
Dont laugh at me it is because of love
Seseli yo Ibrahima
My dear Ibrahima
Nabandi kolinga yo
I have fallen in love with you
Soki nga namoni yo te
Whenever I dont see you
Motema moto moto lokola likambo epayi ya mibali
My heart feels discomfort
Oleisa nga nini yo Baby
What have you fed me on my baby
Se mpo nazongi mwana moke
That I have become much younger
Nabeba motema
Im hurt or destroyed due to your love
Solo nandimi baninga na ngai
Now I believe my friends
Moto akoka na Nzambe akosukisa
Whoever believes in God will achieve
Nalanda mobali ayebana mibali te,likamwisi ngai na Ibrahima
Im with a man who is not very popular, it is a miracle Am with Ibrahima
Mondende tobeta ekenda pamba
The agreement we had is useless
Ibrahima nabebi nzoto
Ibrahima Am suffering because of love
Nakomi lokola zoba, nalanda ata na nzamba nakokota
I have become crazy, Im following you even in a forest I will enter
Seseli yo Ibrahima, nabandi kolinga yo, I HAVE DONE ENGLISH LYRICS UP THERE KINDLY CHECK
Soki nga namoni yo te,
Motema moto moto lokola nde likambo ,
Oleisa nga eloko nini oh baby
Se mpo nazongi mwana moke
Nabeba motema epayi ya mibali
I feel weak before men
Lelo nabandi kolinga yo
Today I have fallen in love with you
Ibrahima oyeba nga nalingaka yo
I brahima you should know I love you
Ibrahima oyeba nga naza na yo ×3
I brahima you should know Im yours
Eloko nini esali nga
