So you have been a big help with my rampage so I wanted to give you a little update. I was looking for a belt drive but now realized it's unavailable. So I did find out the Maverick blackout runs on the same transmission. And I found out E BAY has them in stock. Maverick HIGH SPEED METAL TRANSMISSION SET 31-29-25-25 - MV24155 And MV24155 High Torque Steel Gear Transmission Set (Blackout MT) I just put in an order but here are your true metal gears my friend.
Yo what is up man? Glad to bei of help. Yeah man the belt system has been discontinued it looks. Those Maverick MT gears. I looked them up. It still says powder steel in the description. Hopefully they hold up better than the Redcat version. Thanks for the heads up. If ya don't mind let me know what you think of those gears when ya get them. Appreciate it man 👊🤘
Thanks for your experience with servos Gman.. blew my Factory Hexfly servo under the battery 3rd time out. Wrote Redcat support yesterday. The throttle servo burnt up before I took it out. Looks like I'm going Hercules now. From everything I've read it seems unbreakable..Hexfly must be garbage..cheers
What's up man. Ya the Hexfly are junk. If you really want two servos. I would run power and ground wires directly to the servos from the battery. Going through the receiver with a Y splitter is a no go. I ruined two smaller Hitec 5765 doing that. They required too much amperage from the receiver and would have voltage drops causing the servos to fight eachother and eventually burn up the motors. So rather than doing all the wiring. I went with the Hillantronics Hercules servo all by itself. That particular servo is no longer made. They made a new version. Get the highest torque one the make. Sorry I am no help which one it is. This black one was top dog lol. Not no more. Good luck my friend 🤘👊
Hey what's up. It was my first 5th scale and became my favorite RC and still is. Obviously I've upgraded the snot out of it, but it's a beast. Check out some running video of it. Much fun. Appreciate you checking it out!
@@SteelCityRC my rampage XT I did a dual steering servo conversion my receiver got crushed in the process ordered a new one put it in powered everything up and my throttle servo started smoking
@@rcmcguyver7561 wow. I had no luck synchronizing the two servos together. Running both off a Y connector to the rx would draw too much power. I find a single works the best for me.
Awesome MT. Thanks to you I just put in a order for that Pipe. Can you please tell me what air filter you run and how you are able to have it at that upward position?
Hey what is up man! That DDM Dominator is a great pipe. Ran it for years on there. I have since switched up to the Olimat pipe for the MT. Both pipes have good power. The Olimat is louder though. I will leave a link to the inclined shred stack intake and air filter from a HPI baja down below. Also recommend an Outerwears for over the filter. Thanks for watching 👊🤘
Lol, that's great! I already have the filter/velocity stack and dominator pipe. 1 ordered an Olimat to switch it up. I have the jetpro side pipe too. Just wanted a pipe that goes under the body for a more complete truck look. Love your video! Good stuff!!
@@SteelCityRC So my pipe finally came. Love it. Lol, more power and sounds crazy. Unfortunately, I had a throttle fail out of the blue. It was stuck wide open but luck kicked in. Hit my trashcan and flipped over. Lol, hit the kill switch before my motor burned out so not a total loss. But now I am trying to figure out a better replacement for that awful throttle/brake servo in the rampage MT. Not so easy when you need to keep it a 25-tooth spline to match the servo horn. Can you please tell me the part number or send a link to the throttle/brake servo you run?
@@rcbrooks3543 so sorry to hear that!!! Good thing for the remote killswitch! I use a Savox 1210mg on my MT. Can handle 2S lipo voltage if you ever choose to use a 2S RX lipo. Looks like Savox updated that servo and is more expensive. But here is a link. Good luck. www.amainhobbies.com/savox-sw1210sgp-digital-waterproof-aluminum-case-servo-high-voltage-tall-sav-sw-1210sgp/p1469877?gclid=Cj0KCQjw_O2lBhCFARIsAB0E8B8AMqvQjTLqsZ_ycYsl4fGdT-FPuHPSrQxwXqyV4qY7-A_5uH4iz-0aAnmKEALw_wcB
hey dude!! Great install, Did you notice your RX battery life is much better now too? I rem when I converted my traxxas revo 3.3 to run a single servo instead of two it made a noticeable difference in the RX battery life. BTW did you ever mess around with the gears on this MT? Does it have the 25-35 gears in that? I've been looking for the MT gears to use on my rampage rally for more top end speed.
Hard to say about the rx battery life. I switched to a small 2800 mah 2s lipo awhile back. Having dual high volt servos through the rx was a no go. So either I had to run straight from the lipo, power and ground to each servo or get one big one. I got a big one. There is too much of a voltage drop using a Y type connector for dual high volt servos into the rx. When I had dual they used to fight each other and actually trigger the LVC in the Superbee killswitch shutting the engine down. I haven't had that issue since going single, nor notice any issues throwing the truck around where I want. Works well. So I have been eyeballing this particular servo for awhile. Decided to pull the trigger on it. Appreciate You Watching!!
makes sense, thats a great RC workshop you got too btw!!! DO you remember back during the early t-maxx days the servos we had at that time. OMG. You used to have to start driving to even have the wheels move left of right. I guess 20-40 oz/in of torque was not enough, ahaha.
I need help with my new shock's i need to if and how to put oil into them can you help? It would be nice if you could do a video on the shock's on your rampage it would help me out a lot
Hey what's up! As far as filling shocks I don't have any videos as of yet. I suggest watching a few videos of baja shocks being serviced. They are very similar. Hope that helps. Appreciate you stopping by 👊 🤘
Awesome video I have the same truck any suggestions on how to open up and remove the battery easier I've been having a hard time removing that third screw even though I have a ball HEX key it's still a b**** to take out I'll even try squeezing it out through the side where the wires come but my OCD kicked in and I had to put it back in. Any ideas on this issue? Thank you
Thank you. I love this truck. The battery box. I use 3 screws instead of all 4. 3 screws are plenty. The screw under the carb stays out lol. Appreciate you stopping by!!
I got the MT V3 with dual steering gets expensive replacing 2 of them how do you do the one server setup in what parts would I need to buy can I just pull out 1 servo and disconnect that side of the linkage
Hey what's going on. There is a parts list in the description. Basically eliminate the servo under the receiver box and install a bigger Redcat servo mount on the other side made of aluminum.
Thanks for replying back I just ordered the Futaba blue aluminum servo mount but the other items are discontinued 🙄 what would you recommend for the single servo 🤔
Oh sorry. The Hillantronics black Hercules servo is discontinued I see. I would use their strongest servo they make now. I'm sure Detroit Performance RC has it.
