This is gonna sound hilarious but the few things I would pack in my Hogwarts trunk (if I had one, in which, sadly I don't) would be a diary (not a horcrux!), an mp3 player (I'm a 2000s kid and proud of it!) of course it would be red for house pride so I can chill out in the common room with my fellow lions and my ever growing awesomeness!!
Unfortunately an mp3 player wouldn't work as no electricals work in the grounds of Hogwarts.
