Active autowerkes equal length mid pipe sound awesome but this is next level.
@@TangoSykDelta single turbo has single downpipe meaning single midpipe so there is no equal length in it, only on twin turbos do you require equal length midpipe

I have an e92 M3 and have never heard an s55 that I didnt think was horrible. The first time I heard a single turbo s55 I was blown away.

S58, and s55 are all 1000hp capable engines aswell as the 5.0 mustang engines and so many new cars. Its great to see all these new engines built so strong

That is the best sounding f80 I have ever heard. I keep replaying the video to hear that turbo. Generally would it cost to make an f80 m3 sound like that with the precautions they take to make it more reliable? This thing is sick!

@@donsmith5732 This development build was close to $50k all up. However i know they can do it for less now. This had things like rod bearings and a lot of working out. Hit up simply tuning with what you want, what your current setup is and he will be able to give you a better idea.

Nah it’s better. 2JZ ECU is equivalent to a TI82 calculator and the stock turbos are good for like 6 PSI

Can’t wait to see you do the haltech PI on that single turbo n54. It should be fun and informative for the rest of us here in the US. I wouldnt mind supporting haltech over motiv and split second especially if it can squeeze out more HP.
Should definitely be more efficient, the benifit of the haltech main will be customisation. You can do so much more with it than motiv/jb4 options.

Motiv reflex can offer boost/fuel control. Dme integrated.
Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it. The reflex wasnt out when this car was built. The reflex looks like a nice unit, would be great to have one side by side to compare with the haltech.
@@ZeroTo60Tube yea it wasn’t out at the time of this build but was just passing information. Their stand alone does the job but a bit more expensive.

I have to be honest, being RHD our options are super limited and i havent looked in to LHD kits.

Pardon my ignorance, I’m an Audi owner but recently found an interest with BMW M models... and looking into them.
So the OEM injectors are direct injection only? It will be prone to carbon build up( No secondary injector to clean the carbon)?
Yes, same issue with all the direct injection cars. That said it appears post 2010 models seem to suffer from less carbon build up due to better designed PCV systems. The S55's are not to bad for build up.
In the UK there is a right hand drive M4 with a single turbo has been done for about a year now. His instagram is @m4joker

Not at this point in time. Dan likes overseeing everything himself, and tuning the cars on his dyno doing what he knows works. That said if the interest is there i am sure he will work out a way to make it happen. On the same note, this "kit", turbo, manifold, dump pipe, port injection, intercooler, intake, haltech, flex setup is quite complex.
a little bit more driving and less talking would be very nice, no front :)

Any idea if the owner has done the crank hub fix to support this level of upgrade?
It was done by simply tuning. Not a special fix just one of the off the shelf options I think. They did it and rod bearings while the motor was out

Rk tune was the first to single turbo the m4 with a top mount making over 1000 HP. CHECK HIS TH-cam OUT

Yes still has di and the DME still thinks its doing all the work. The haltech is working like a JB4 or AIC6 controller. Just doing a little more that they both can.

It does show it in the vid. Basically custom centre section due to the single turbo dump pipe. The stock mufflers. Cats gone.

Because it was wet, so couldn’t do anything cool not to mention, I think the owner deserves to drive it before we do. We’ll see this car again for a proper dragy test.

He’s been around the block, doesn’t come form BMW land but has been playing with BMW for over 10 years now. The man knows how to make things work.
