As I had a three day stopover in Hanoi, I wanted to stay right in the middle of the action in the old quarter for this trip. As this was my first trip back to Hanoi since the COVID-19 pandemic began, I was looking forwards to enjoying the food and culture and did not want to ensconce myself in some fancy 4 or 5 star hotel. This hotel is in a small alley and not accessible directly by car and you will need to walk the final 45m (150ft) from the main road. Keep that in mind if you have a lot of luggage or it is rainy season.
Check-in was uneventful and fast at 4PM. The room was pleasantly outfitted in a somewhat classical European style. Individual A/C control, tea, two bottled of water, water kettle, safe, refrigerator were on hand in the bedroom. One nice touch was the universal plug sockets, allowing travelers from any country to easily plug in their devices without the need for an additional adapter. There were two pairs of slippers, please note they were NOT single-use.
The bathroom came with hair dryer, toothbrushes, a shower cap, toilet with hand self spray bidet function. Soap, shampoo and conditioner were available in the bathtub / shower combo. Hot water was hit and miss in the room, but given it was very hot in Hanoi when I went, it was not a big deal.
Breakfast was in a large room adjacent to the lobby. I was pleasantly surprised to they had cooked-to-order dishes in addition to the limited buffet spread. I ordered a beef pho and an omelette, both of which were pretty good.
