  • There should be more but in here lets just have a look at all 20 points to check regarding this full gloss blacked out square full metal g shock watch also in comparisons to other from the same series.
    Whats best?
    - STN display = higher contrast & view
    - Premium quality = Forge process, hand assembled in Yamagata (?) or perhaps Hamura
    - Made In Japan = self perspectives
    - Bigger size button = easy operations
    - OG DW5000 link design = classic & easy size adjustments
    - Brush finish bracelet = size illusion
    - Black out profile = size & shape illusion
    - Screwdown cased back = normally would last longer
    - DLC coat + IP = sweats irritation due to resin solved, sleep, whole day.
    - IP band is more durable to scratch compare to non-ip steel.
    Whats bad?
    - Slightly heavy = depend muscular
    - Cost more = obviously, but not in used condition
    - Can't be updated = common for any gshock
    - Could be outdated = Casio improved MIP lcd
    - Mineral glass = scratch easier
    How is this better?
    - Appear smaller, not as shiny ad silver
    - Look premium, how it reflects lights
    - Appear smaller, different finishes
    - Looks better after beating, less visible marks
    - IP coat makes it super comfortable

    I like the B 5000 and I already have 3 version of them
    I think the b 5600 is better than b 5000 for the daily use because it lighter and also you don't need to be careful about it
    At the same time the B 5000 is best square g for especial occasion
    one thing I don't like about these two watches is they don't have b battery mode in the desplay

      1-Because it is an expensive watch, you should always keep it in a safe place
      2-If you lose the watch for any reason, you may lose it forever, as most of the b5000 are limited editions
      3-Since the B5000 is made of metal, it is vulnerable to scratches.

    I have the blue steel GMW-B5000 on resin band and it is beautiful. I love the look of the gold one but don't know if I could handle the bling. I'm not certain if I would like the bracelet type, I'm very picky about my steel bracelet's, some of them pinch my wrist hair, so I went with the resin.

    Is it confirmed that some squares will be updated with MIP display? STN has only been out for a few years, and Casio has models like the GW 5610 and GW 5000 which have been around for years with older tech. I'd think that Casio would continue with STN display for a few more years, at least.

    • @e28forever30

    Still no MIP on the metal squares. And when they do make it, it will probably be a quasi smart/fitness watch like the dwh5600 now. Which means it won't be able to stay charged with solar alone... Unless you spend hours and hours everyday in direct sunlight.

    Hey, so I have 6.5” wrists and own a GW-B5600 and it fits perfectly on the combi bracelet, snug as anything on my wrist, however any bigger and it would overhang and have a gap. I am looking for a full metal with metal bracelet, but my question is… will this wear larger, i.e. do the lugs flare out more than on the cheaper GWb5600 with combi? As I say, with the combi it fits fine, but if the lugs flared any more it would be too big, so I am not sure if the full metal with bracelet lugs extend further than the plastic one? Many thanks

  • @SamA-cy8eu

    i feel the resin and steel versions should be 130USD only as they are both the same feature-wise and metal isn't super expensive to fabricate in large quantities.
    Only the Titanium should cost more due to the difficulty to machine it. Also it makes no sense why Casio isn't using STN displays on both versions considering it's 1980s tech,
    it should literally be the standard 41 years later unless Casio is too lazy to be bothered.

    • @gshockhighfashion
      @gshockhighfashion  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Material is not as expensive for Casio scale, the metal model is expensive because the Diamond Liked Coating (DLC).

    Wait, isn't this thing overpriced considering how much non metal gshocks are? A metal case and bracelet doesn't cost that much.

    • @gshockhighfashion
      @gshockhighfashion  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Metal has grades based on their purity/mix ratio. High grade metal do cost more.
      Lower grade metal tend to rust, oxidise easily, sensitive to skin like in cheap watches. There's a different.
      Extreme example: Rolex bracelet vs 10 dollar knockoff.
      Even the IP coat need to be done properly for longevity & durability. Or else they'll just flakes off, scratch off with a scuff.
      G-Shock were made with the highest quality at most consumer could still afford. Own one to believe.

    • @veeaa
      @veeaa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The additiomal material cost itself is probably quite small but considering that most premium watch brand bracelets alone cost hundreds, I think the additional $200€ is spot on. You do get other features for that price as well. I got mine brand new for 373€/$400 and I consider it well worth it.

    There is really no comparison. The 5000 is for those who love quality and pride in their watches. The 5600 is just an affordable version of a much more expensive unicorn.

    • @e28forever30
      @e28forever30 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, for me it was a journey.
      Started out with the GW-B5600, on the combi bracelet, same as in the video.
      Great watch for the money, super light and comfortable.
      But the negative display is mostly unreadable, the buttons are hard to operate, and it did not feel substantial enough for my own personal taste.
      Picked up the silver GMW-B5000 in mint condition a little while later, it is in a different league.
      Very substantial, high quality feeling, with a chunky bracelet giving it more wrist presence, superb display.
      Downside: it is much quieter than the resin version, hourly chime and alarm/timer are barely noticeable.
      Also the clasp leaves an ugly gap when closed.
      So the GW-B5600 was sold.
      Picked up the black B5000, a used example with a bit of patina, great watch.
      The negative display is much better than the resin version, again a solid feeling when wearing, very comfortable and slips easily under a sleeve/cuff.
      So the count is up to 2, still lusting after the gold version, although my wife and kids hate it..🙂

    I purchased both black and ss. Reviews FAIL to mention that the alarms are inaudible.
    They advertise FIVE ALARMS (and an hourly time signal) and the FRICKEN INAUDIBLE.
    Really Casio? That just stinks of poor engineering and nonexistent quality control.

    • @veeaa

      I get what you mean but they are good enough for my use. If you work in a noisy environment or are a deep sleeper then the signals are hard to hear. I don't personally have any issues with that.
