    Ive had a gsteel for a few years thats been thru pretty much everything, one time I even lost it in the bed of my pickup truck and had a 500lb round bale dropped on top of it. And shes still damn near in perfect condition, some scratches here and there from the pickup truck incident and some of the lettering has peeled off but thats it! These watches are like tanks i swear

    These things age pretty well. I have the stainless steel natural finish one; I’ve had it for a year now and I’m surprised how well the polishing on the case stands up to scratches and still retains a nice shiny look. Also, my crystal is pristine as well

  • @brokenchains
    @brokenchains 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Nice, I went with the silver SS one and I use a 3M pad on mine to remove the scratches on the brushed finish, still cleans up nice after 8 months

    Scratches will be inevitable on almost all metal watches. Black PVD coated steel does that weird thing where new scratches are super noticeable but when it starts wearing on the edges, it develops into a nice gunmetal-like patina with a lot of character.

    Best G-Shock ever, alongside the new GM110 golden are the only ones I kept from my 34 G-Shocks collection 😄💟 the way they made each link a different size and the way the mastered the metal on this one made me pick it as one of the best new G-Shocks, retro, elegant, kinky and sophisticated. Looks and feel way more expensive, makes my Tissots look like cheap toys.

    Nice video! I have a full metal G that I put the DLC bezel and bracelet from the limited Porter edition on. I don't wear it out a ton, so it's in great condition, haha. I did drop it once on my bathroom floor, and the coating the bezel corner didn't break...

    I picked up the bare SS Full Metal. I knew the black and gold tone would both be problematic. Mine is only a couple of months old, so it is still looking decent. Like you, mine is not worn all the time. The module is amazing. I also have the positive display. My experience with negative displays has not been amazing. I want a G-Shock to be legible in any or no light.

      @@ferminharris3826 I will be honest. Is worth it. I have mine for almost 2 years. I wear it a lot. And the scrathces are not bad. Is just normal minor scratches. It also depends how and where you were it. I don't work with it. I use it to go out and look like a GENTLEMAN. No the GOLD never ever fades away. I love them. I have three but mostly use the stainless one with the composite band. The others I think twice where i am going and if it is likely to scratch. I wish they would DLC coat all of them but I know that is expensive. Anyways.. they are meant to be worn so I will wear mine more offen and get a few battle scars on them. Lol. Thanks for the video.

    Guys never buy negative displays, you can't read shit on them. The Influencers trying to show them in the perfect view angle and it is still too dark. Buy positive display you can read the time and it is pure retro. Thank me later.

    • @tententock
      @tententock  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Gentleman1147 it depends. Unfortunately there is a huge disparity between the good negatives and the bad ones. I had a mudmaster MS and it was nearly impossible. The negative rangeman 9400 isn’t impressive either. On the other hand my 5610 and full metal have decent displays.

    • @tententock

      The STN display used in the full metal squares is much more legible than the less expensive models. I have the blue metal version with negative display and have no trouble with it. And if it's dark, that's the purpose of the backlight.
