Just started I'm the graveyard cook. Just me and the night manager. Between stoners and drunks, not to mention the phantom online delivery orders its cook, prep, clean, or be killed.
Hated that job so much. I was a team lead there, it was only me and my cook. My cook sometimes couldn’t keep up with orders so she’d just leave which left me to run the whole store solo. Because the store only had 7 employees total so they never fired her. It was ridiculous. It was hella greasy, sweaty, and our headsets were not wireless

Gonna try working at a fast food restaurant possibly Jack and I want to know Is it hard working in a fast food place? It might be the first restaurant I work atv
I think every fast food restaurant is difficult. It’s pretty easy to do the job and you learn really fast but what can be difficult is being understaffed and working heavy shifts or working hard while others are slacking off and of course gossip witch is the worst. But to honest with you it also matters where you work everywhere is different so give it a try but working fast food definitely makes you faster and improves you’re ability to work under pressure.

This is nothing how JIB was during corona! All the ones in our district were crazy busy and short staffed the whole time overworking the good employees till they cudnt go anymore but none of the pencil pushers wanted to come help. Instead they complained we weren’t making them enough money. And the thing I remember most is all of these workers who worked thru all of Covid never got shit. All other fast food restaurants got bonus of some kind but u know what Jack did for us?…. They kept our bonus money and gave us extra work hours added to our schedule to work as our gift from them. Like 50-60hrs a week wasnt enough already! And to keep our hard earned money we put ourselves on the line for. We can take in all kinds of dirty money that could be Covid infected but heaven forbid we take any food back. If u only knew how many customers use that to get free food outa the deal yet employees got more work hours we never wanted.
Wow we didn’t get bonuses. Early Covid days were very slow and we were over staffed so some people would get sent home early or told not to come in. After around 6 months we began to get kind of busy and short staffed but it never was as big of an issue as you’re location.
@@agentone5777 no. Instead we got more available work hours to keep slaving away as always. The way I understood it was if they didn’t use the money for bonuses they were supposed to send it back to the state but I guess they come up with a way that they could just put it is extra overtime hours cuz that’s what everybody wants to work do is work OT at Jack In The Box. Well I put in more then my fair share of hours. When I started my first check was 140ish hrs & my second was 160ish. On top of it my tax information was incorrect so Uncle Sam took $1000 outa my check fer taxes cuz JIB shorted my first check. Instead of paying me my retro pay, they just added some of the missing hours to the 2nd check which moved me to higher tax bracket. They sure do you have a way of screwing people over cuz this wasn’t the first time I got screwed! When I worked in union I got a raise & it wasn’t put on my check for bout8- 10 weeks & so I threw a fit tell him I need my retro pay which was well over $300(which was my car payment) & still never got it to this day. in fact after talking to other employees I found out they owed several people backpay & never paid it! But what can we do when they treat us like this? They want us to work work work but yet they just wana steal our moneys & now they’re trying to screw me over on my vacation, sick & floater days pay I accumulated & I won’t ever get my bonus checks. I know I’ve got labor bonus coming for the simple fact of working two people open to close every day we had a few hundred hours under labor so I know I made labor & I know I made food cost also but I don’t know how to do anything about getting them & of course they don’t wana help me cuz I wouldn’t stay & start my 38th day straight working as they lil free worker. My situation is exactly why Missouri needs labor laws cuz these pencil pushers know what they can get by with but that’s all right Karma sucks & I believe karma starts where it ends! It was my stupidity for going back after working at 5 different Jack In The Box… you think I would’ve learned my lesson but each JIB is so different you just never know. At this one we don’t dispose of the tea nightly, we just leave it sit on the counter for them to drink the next day. we don’t throw away expired things until we’ve use them to the best of their ability. (we just take it out of the dated box so you can’t see the date). We don’t clean our fryers Unless they start making the fries dalmatian speckled. We’re so shortstaffed the trucks the district manager over orders on or duplicate orders on sit out in the walkway for 6 to 8 hours before they can be put away cuz we don’t have help to do it. Expired soda syrup… we keep it as long as possible… Usually till an audit comes and then we’re allowed to throw it away. And u don’t even wana know what ur drinking when u order a fountain soda. Uck! If I remember correctly our store had 80 something holes in the roof thats still aren’t completely fixed & why was my electric bill so high?…cuz there’s no off switch for the exhaust fans above fryer or grill which causes nasty crap to drip on the grill that can’t be healthy. And let’s not forget about the piles of grease next to the grill cuz nobody has time to empty the grease traps. Or the fact that everything in the store is freaking broke. I along with a couple of my coworkers had to physically climb on top of the roof to flip a switch to get the AC working cuz it was putting out temps of 103° through the vents. So the way it worked was in the winter when it was cold the air conditioning was on & in the summer when it’s hot the heaters on. instead of fixing it they have us climbing on top of the roof to pull a switch that never seems to work. it’s been going on since last summer. This past winter they literally took the thermostat off the wall for the air conditioner and furnace and went on the roof & hardwired it to the main unit so this could be where the problem comes in… can u say fire hazard! Employee safety issue! Lazy ass maintenance guy who want to come in & tell you how to do your job! I’ve never seen one man so unhappy. he complains Nonstop when he comes in the store cuz he doesn’t wana work & then he’s not honest about the times that he’s there or what he has done therefore we’re paying him very well Considering he sits out in his truck for almost an hour after he’s done working & getting paid for it… Milk the clock much do you! And racist oh my Lord he wouldn’t even talk to one of my workers because hes African-American. But he really freaked out when he came in one day & I had six or seven African-Americans working that I just hired. Sorry. Not racist here mr maintenance! Oh & let’s not forget the doctors notes…even if you have a doctors note you still have to work cuz none of the upper management will come in assist you knowing that you were on a leave of absence for medical reasons due to working too much already. And that’s pretty much the legit reason I left is cuz my health was going downhill again & I asked fer a day off after already workin 37 days straight sometimes just me by myself… My request was declined. Others who knew I was on the verge quit before I got out of there & now others are saying that since their favorite boss is gone they’re not staying either… I don’t think I’ve ever been called someone’s favorite boss before but it was kind a cool. A few people that left cuz of not being staffed & working so many hours made it known to myself & others that I was a good manager, I did what I could with what I had to work with but without help it was a lost cause. Work the floor all day then close the store and clean up, but then I would be there for another two or three hours doing the paperwork I couldn’t do cuz I was on the floor … truck orders schedule inventory daily paperwork, scheduling interviews so I wouldn’t get out of there till 10:30-11pm & have to be back at 8 AM. I pretty much lived at that place in order to get my stuff done on time & still had a hard time keeping up but they thought I was super manager, I could do it all. I understand my responsibilities due to being restaurant manager BUT I also understand it’s my district managers responsibility to assist me when I have no assistants or team leads & that never happened but maybe once every couple weeks there at the end when he would call and say he’s got something else to do. Did you ever have a Problem with your employees checks being incorrect cuz that was a big issue too & then they came to me complaining even though it was out of my hands & some of them still haven’t got paid what they were due. Most places around us shut their doors after a certain time cuz they were short staffed & didn’t have people to work but not Jack In The Box we werent allowed to shut our doors… We are barely allowed to shut our lobby when necessary! I don’t care if there was 1 person there or 4people there we weren’t allowed to close down cuz they made Us sign papers saying we wouldn’t close without permission & to get Permission was a joke. And I’m new to this so I’m not sure exactly how the bonus checks work & if there’s somebody out there that can enlighten me please do so. To get to the bottom of this would be great but in 7 months time I never got 1 bonus check though I know I made the bonus requirements, I never got anything. I also don’t know how to calculate out how much the holiday sick & floating days I acquired is supposed to be paid out either cuz they didn’t explain none of that. I really just got thrown in. Never got the 6 week training everyone else got either. Set up fer failure is what that is. I’m sure that’ll go in somebody’s pocket just like the $900 that should’ve been in my safe when I started. The safe only had $40 instead of $900 but pencil pushers didn’t make no big deal bout that! $900 missing & they don’t even investigate. Just crooked all the way around. I was 2nd restaurant manager who left in less then a week & I’m sure there will be more. JIB just needs to go completely bankrupt cuz if they think they stores are going to produce $1300/week working all they good workers till they fall & then work them some more… they crazy! I won’t deal with a district manager coming in my store making everyone uncomfortable while he’s cussing and throwing stuff around! Throwing out dumpster full of paper product cuz he’s mad he hada come do a lil work to help. And drug issues… let them smoke weed and whatever else they smoking inside the store. All restaurant managers having horrible problem with this but when district manager won’t help fix it we pretty much screwed.
@@agentone5777 Thanks for the reply. Why though? I'm asking because I know a lot of people think like you. Life is so much better without them and you may not realize it till you go back to not wearing them. I think younger people have adapted more because they have not lived near as long as someone like me that remembers life before mask for many years. The risk is pretty low for transmission and the mask most wear offer little to no protection. I guess the question is how long do people plan on wearing them? At some point we have to move on. Covid is never going away.
Hello start working at JIB , there is a manager who is always in a bad mood and treats employees badly, she thinks the company will give her bonuses for making the company earn more money, all the comments are really right, I will work until I can no longer hold them.
Seems legit. However, when i worked at JIB(2007-2010), the first few months were ok. Only because of how everything was new to me at the moment. As time went by tho, I would see the shittiest things about working at a fast food restaurant. The low pay; the shitty customers; employees coming in late so I'd have to stay longer; calluses forming on my feet from standing on my feet for 8 hours a day, women ordering tacos and destroying the bathroom right after eating them shits; the illegal mexicans being hired; Lol smelling like French fries when coming home; couldn't except tips from customers; no benefits; your on a timer on drive through, yet, you had to upsell at the same time, and I'd get yelled at for not getting the customer on their way under a certain time and not attempting to upsell at the same time.

Jack in the box has mexican .. chicken fajita. tacos...mini tacos ...chinese... egg rolls, teriyaki bowls....they need to sell corn dogs tooo :)
The fajitas and tacos aren’t Mexican.
I really wish stores would stop making their employees wear mask. The risk is actually pretty low and the cases and deaths are way down.
I personally don’t mind wearing masks and we no longer have to wear them in Washington but I will continue to wear mine.

I work at a Carl's JR 😭😭
I’ve never eaten there before but u have my respect😅
i just applied to one near me ..i need friends lmfao
Who else works at jack in the box 😭
I wonder why they do military time I hated that when I worked at jack lol

Is it possible to make a career out of doing this?
It is possible but it shouldn’t be you’re number one choice. You would be spending the majority of you’re life there working 40 hours and working really hard. it’s not worth it.
