The sandstorm he would have had to use sunny day until both ran out of pp although that could lead to luck based runs where you have to hope the AI keeps using sandstorm while you use sunny day.

Just so you know, Focus Sash doesn't protect you from weather. It only activates when dealt direct damage. Weather damage is regarded as passive, the same as if you were burned, poisoned, seeded, etc.

That's why I love nuzlocke. You have to use moves you'd normally pass over. I don't know how many times I've won with secret power, hidden power, and natural gift. Also abusing status and lowering moves.
That was an incredible watch, the strategies that were devised to overcome this were just fantastic. Newfound appreciation for Natural Gift for an Ingame playthrough
I love the vids in this series where victory feels like solving a puzzle (getting around drifloon's ability, using items and moves you'd usually never consider, etc.). It's always interesting to see how the game can be played in so many different ways and you can come up with an inventive solution to a roadblock, and it really highlights just how versatile the core gameplay of Pokemon really is
I love your Gen 1 runs, but it's great to see these challenges expanding past the original Gen. Also love the using every pokemon solo to find it's time I'm the list against all others, but the different kind of challenges, using special teams, doubles runs really add something in between those. Which the solo time runs can definitely be done in other Gens after! Would love to see the next 2 sets of legendary trios times, ect!
What I love about these videos is that it seems like they're introducing it and giving an overview at the beginning but then you realize you're already in the main part of the video lol

I know exactly how you feel about Natural Gift. There's always something extra satisfying about finding a solution when it involves something I never expected to have a use for.
If you feel like playing a modified version go ahead and try Renegade Platinum. You'll feel spoiled by the abundance of gift pokemon and the EV training NPC but you can set your own limits.

Milotic could've pulled through at the end if you didn't one hit KO. Toxic would kill you in one turn.

I love the vids in this series where victory feels like solving a puzzle (getting around drifloon's ability, using items and moves you'd usually never consider, etc.). It's always interesting to see how the game can be played in so many different ways and you can come up with an inventive solution to a roadblock, and it really highlights just how versatile the core gameplay of Pokemon really is
That was amazing, the fact that you where able to beat so many trainers that had Pokémon who where strong against Shedinja is incredible, well done!
I love your Gen 1 runs, but it's great to see these challenges expanding past the original Gen. Also love the using every pokemon solo to find it's time I'm the list against all others, but the different kind of challenges, using special teams, doubles runs really add something in between those. Which the solo time runs can definitely be done in other Gens after! Would love to see the next 2 sets of legendary trios times, ect!

I've always loved this Husk of a Pokemon and Ninjask since I was a kid, something about being surprised I had 2 pokemon after 1 evelotion was 1 thing... But a Ghost/Bug and the Lore... Oh lord I kept it in my party begrudgingly

I know exactly how you feel about Natural Gift. There's always something extra satisfying about finding a solution when it involves something I never expected to have a use for.
You weren't kidding when you said new generation. I miss the Sinnoh region, this makes me want to play through Platinum again
Do it on an emulator if you do so you can speed it up. Gen 4 is painfully slow.
If you feel like playing a modified version go ahead and try Renegade Platinum. You'll feel spoiled by the abundance of gift pokemon and the EV training NPC but you can set your own limits.
If you want full nostalgia mode just play the original platinum. I've played it countless times over the years but tbf gen 4 is my favourite
