I'm in my 60's now and have seen a lot of things and I know that many stories do, in fact, carry truth. I nearly lost a friend to the 'empty chamber' advice. He had his lying next to him on the bench seat of the truck with 6 in it and his coat snagged it as he was getting out. It hit the ground butt first and the round went up through his groin in the "taint" area and entered his abdomen and messed him up real bad. Thank God they were light loads and bounced off his pelvis keeping the round from reaching his heart/lung area
I joined the NRA because of Hickok45. Also because I finally got around to getting my conceal carry in my county which has an Anti-2nd amendment sheriff. Cheers Hickok45, love your videos.

The Sheriff was doing some seriously illegal things and the governor didn't do anything but when the Sheriff tried to take the ballot boxes to the Sheriff's office with the intention of rigging the election to remain Sheriff even though a GI was elected to become the new Sheriff all hell broke loose. When injustice becomes law rebellion becomes duty.
That is a awesome revolver. My Dad loved Colt but he always didn't have enough money to get one. So I got a Ruger New Vaguro 357 Mag for his 60th birthday. He loves it and says It is his favorite revolver now.

I do own a heritage .22/.22 mag and that is kind of a nice thing that they have safety's on them so you can avoid shooting your foot off but really not a carry gun

Yep, his single action revolver doesn't need a safety mechanism either. You just carry five in the chambers and hammer down on the empty sixth chamber like we've been doing on single action revolvers since 1837. No need to add complexity to a system that works great.
I always enjoy your videos...and I enjoy your stories about the old west...we are probably around the same age...it's a shame that these kids these days don't watch westerns...or read about John Wayne, Kirk Douglas, Jimmy Stewart, Hop-Along-Cassidy, Roy Rodgers & Dale Evans...all the great western actors ... Yeah, I know it sounds like "just another old man talking," but I really do think young folks of today have missed some great experiences in our new "Nanny State" and new culture. The things we spent our time with as young teens was so, so different: building tree houses during the summer, shooting as much .22 ammo as we could afford, playing hide & seek after dark in the neighborhood, hanging around outside all day creating things to do, choosing up sides and playing our own unorganized baseball games, rarely watching TV during the day, etc.
I love these colts. Right now i only have a Uberti replica with 5,5 inch barrel, and because I live in Poland the gun is in cap and ball version to make it legal. But them four clicks and the weight and feel of this gun is awesome. It's funny though that here you need to go through a few months long process to obtain a permit for air rifle with power over 17 Joules, but a .44 cap and ball you can buy online like a t-shirt and yet there are no shootings... how strange is that

Recently, I secured a Ruger .44 Hunter, (which thing I love). Unfortunately, a curious offspring of mine, broke-into a secured cabinet and "fiddled" with the loading gate. I'm assuming debris is involved, but I simply cannot open the loading gate. Any hints here? Obviously I appreciate any assistance, thankyou.

My wife bought me a 3.75" .45lc birdshead vaquero for Christmas, and I love it. But you aren't kidding when you say the short barrel single actions are harder to shoot well. If you have any sort of flinch whatsoever it lets you know!
If you think about it; things could be just a little better having a second Colt on the left hip or as they used to say in old western movies, " back to back sixes." Can't go wrong with 10 or 12 shots!!!

Okay, I'm lost. Doesn't this very modern (and VERY expensive) Colt have some kind of hammer lock or transfer bar that prevents it from going off if dropped, or if the back of the hammer is struck like if it was dropped?

Cimarron Firearms markets a 3.5 inch SAA with a bird's head grip. My LGS took in two of them, nib, from a customer and called me to have a look. I have them both now, the price was right, about a quarter of what a Colt would go for and the quality seems to be there, even when compared side by side with my one "real" Colt SAA. They are pretty close to being pocket pistols.
I want a pair of nickel plated saa's with 5 1/2 in. barrels so badly but I can't find a dealer around here that can get 'em! It's so frustrating. Apparently they have to have some direct connection with colt these days, I don't know.
