I can speak for other stores and their apps but you are right about IKEA, zero inspiration from their website, yet loads of awesome stuff at their stores
This is how I found this channel. Ikea... weird right!!! 😉 Have to say it's great that you have a binge playlist I really wish more channels worked out that play list on auto play are the best. Take note tubeez? 🤔
I went into IKEA once... Got lost, confused and felt like I was breaking the law if I went against those silly arrows. Doubt if I ever go back. However, they did have some pretty great stuff!!! Thanks for sharing, Lo :)
Just found ur channel today.. N I’ve been binge watching ur videos.. I’ve been daydreaming about starting my van journey so I’ve been watching video after video that had me feeling like it wasn’t possible for me but thanks to u I realized I could start today! I’d love to meet you in person.. You’re such an inspiration! Thanks friend! ❤️
Took your advice bro just went out and did it but so different. Went to the local wrecking yard found an emergency response abulance and bought the entire shelvings for 46 bucks and spent 75 at home depot for lumber and insulation. Did it all in 8 hours
Been bingewatching the beginning and especially love the process of you building your van out and changing your life as you knew it. And oh Ikea feels like home here. Also have it in Europe where I am (Belgium). You Canadians seem so relaxed and down to earth. ✌✌✌ curious to find out when and where your lifestyle will change completely over to where you and youe videos are NOW and meeting Jeffey Bear etc...
I went full Sweden in my diy camper van: IKEA bed/cough, Lundia clothing chest cut up and build into two kitchen units (one with a sink and one with a alcohol stove), every storage unit has a Lundia cabinet front on it, even the porta potty has gotten a Lundia enclosure.
Man I love going to Ikea just to get ideas. I gotta say I've also been really enjoying your channel, good for you for taking action and making such a drastic change happen. And thanks for making vanlife seem so accessible for everyone. Hope you're able to pay off your debt fast. I'm looking forward to seeing your shelf progress.
You're right the faux brick would look great in your van and you can get it at a home improvement store it's very thin it's not thick and heavy .. gives you a lot of bang. ...smart idea
What a tease. I was really enjoying your sense of humour and had a great laugh along the way. We did not even get to see the inside of your van! But you did give us the IKEA idea. Thanks for a fun video.........from Australia
I am really glad I found your channel ,it has opened my eyes to some way simpler ideas and has kind of did a restart for me .I have had my box van for over a year and have had some stalls and hold ups ,had a bunch of mechanical work to do since it is ten years old and than a rat got under the hood and had one of my AC hoses for dinner and cost me a small fortune to fix so my build has been very delayed .I am going to follow your way of thinking now and just get this baby going and on the road and set it up simple as I go .I see an IKEA trip in the near future .
The beauty about the ikea stuff is that they can mix/match/re-create whatever they have on showcase/display/on the floor...to suit the space that is being worked with, including color coordinating. Magnets! for the curtain divider, glue them to the fabric and stickem to the capota/roof top.....easy on/easy off. Creativity.......juice for the brain :D Ciao weirdo.
"It's my inner fat kid, leave him alone". LOL! I'm still laughing! I'll have to use that line at work. You're hilarious! I can't wait to see your finished product in your van. I think you've got some good Ikea ideas! ♡
So much fun to figure out how to do your space -- creative figuring + practical use! Endless possibilities. You look like you are having a good time creating what will work for you.
wish we had ikea. I'm liking your plan for the back...see the benefit of living in your van prior to major build work has left you knowing that you like having the back doors open when its warm to enjoy the view and breeze. Very sensible.
Yes! Do a little faux brick accent between your cabinets and give your van a little "loft" look! Very cool! and you can then coordinate with some conduit silver piping (for wires or anything else like that, that needs a cool "camo" to U-clip along your ceiling! 😊👍🏻 Use other "industrial" finishes (like silver toned hooks and a few metal+wood functional items in your cabinet choices to complete the "look"! Get away from obvious looking "plastic" tubs and bins ... You'll be stylin ' on a budget in no time and there's nothing like a "cool" looking abode no matter how small ... puts a "signature" on your space! You'll appreciate the "cohesive to the eye" environment most, on the rainy stay-indoors days?! 💞
IKEA lives, man! Great ideas in any IKEA store. You really have to go back several times to absorb the number of ideas you can get from an IKEA store. And, most cabinets can be anchored with L-brackets with no problem. Chrome, have a great week!
That's funny about talking to the camera in public. I'm trying really hard to break through that barrier. I'm convinced it will make me a more confident person in general.
Love Ikea ideas!!! I made a rhyme. Maybe next time you're in Ikea take pics of the cabinets you like. Then when you're in your van you can hold up your pics on your camera/phone, whatever, in front of that space and get a better idea... from Ikea, hehe, of what it might look like.
i will be using ikea next week...just gotta go pick up my WEEROLL trailer Monday in Florida ...gonna be a long ass drive from Wisconsin .Love that dog!
I love Ikea too. They serve breakfast?!?! I'm gonna check out one in Prague tomorrow morning! Haven't had scrambled eggs, potatoes, or toast in 8 months! See you never know how your posts are going to effect someone. 😋🥔🍳 Lol
Something to consider about the Ikea stuff in a van is that some parts like the rails for the drawers might not last long under the stress of constant vibration or bumps from driving. I will be doing my build in the summer, I might start off with milkcrates and repurposed shipping pallets.. lol Thanks for all the inspiration and another great video.
Have you seen the discount area by the checkout, you can get all sorts of odds and ends of shelves and wood that you can use to build your headboard and maybe other things. Sometimes you can even find the cabinets you want that have dings in them for half price!
IKEA meatballs ‘ rock do you get them in the US ? We do in the Uk mmm must go get some soon. Great positive attitude good luck with the rebuild. Disco is a dude to cool for a ball lol
Thank you for doing this video! I have already been to IKEA, and talked to other RV owners about the interior, but you still had some great, additional ideas.🤗 The thing I got the most, from this video, was that I don't have to build the perfect van (or in my case, camper.) I have been through multiple handymen who have bailed out because the job got too hard. So I'm probably going to have to DIY it , even though I got hurt from doing that, previously, I guess I'll just have to go slower. 😣 You reminded me that I CAN do this and that it doesn't have to be perfect it just has to work. Thank you so much! 👍🤗
Some people use magnets in their curtain dividers. So cute you bought your baby a ball. So sweet! Nice video! You can also go to the Brick and Leon's of damage good dept where there is just a nick in it that might be hidden at the side or back and get a huge discount more so then what the price tag is if you barter. They don't want to keep it. They want it gone to you fast to make room for more damaged goods in that dept. Lol on inner fat kid.
Yes sir, I agree when I’m in public trying to vlog I’m the one, who wondering what are people saying 😂 I have to get a WEIRDOUNITED shirt ASAP, so when they sneak looking I can stand up and point at the shirt 😂 Create the back wall/headboard into two pieces to the ceiling and put sliders with the little wheels, so you can pop out the top half of wall, slide it down to be equal with the bottom half. That way you will be able to open rear doors, on those nice windy days, and hide garage stuff at other times, you can also customize the back wall/headboard with GRAFFITI 🤔 just a thought.
I really loved the brick wall, with some stickers and some cool photos of your trips up on it, yep that would super nice in your van, also you went past a super sweet looking bright yellow unit in the vid, the yellow tone up against the brick wall would really POP!, I am sat here getting over the Christmas flu binge watching every vid and I am having a great time, they are really helping to fill my day, Thank you for making me smile, love to you and Disco, sending big hugs and lots of love
For supplies, you might also want to check out a local "Re-Store", that's run by Habitat For Humanity. Usually things are very cheap. Kijiji online also has a Free Stuff section. It's exactly like craigslist but I think better.
First, I've wanted a piece of art on my foot but..... Man, didn't that hurt?!! I'm a tough ol chick, but.....? Second, oooooo IKEA! !!!😄😄😄 Thanks for the vid and the inspiration and the music and the funky socks ..... Ok ok enough😉 great to see your face Chromeo! !! (That's my name for ya today!!!) yep, I'm in a mood whoop whoop! !!!!😄😄😄😛
Weird to think I was in that very store a few weeks ago, but it was about 10000 miles away in UK! And Chrome - that wasn't really a ball now was it? Disco's not stupid!
I love watching your videos and I just started vanlife! Im in a blue box truck in the Seattle area. I used a few items from Ikea (and after stabilizing them) They worked out great! I have only been doing it a few days but I will be posting a video soon with a van tour. Your channel really made me feel a lot better about making the choice to vanlife! I just can't thank you enough and keep a look out for a care package from "Blue" 😄
U can buy tje wall paper brick wall look and it wont be so hevy in ur van.. and also did you know in canada you can register ur van as an rv with just a few mods.. like running water
Good afternoon from cali, Ya,mijo sounds like it's gonna turn out nice.. didn't knw Ikea had so much to work with.and fd too. I need to get out more lol. Safe travels&onward bound!

Danika Japanika = recital = cool!!! One of my nieces took tap and jazz when she was younger and the recitals were fun to watch! 😁 Who came up with Japanika? Funny stuff!
Its good for her and will help to keep her busy! You're very blessed to have a cool daughter to hang out with, I wish that I did. Well have a great week, bro! And of course Disco, you also! ⚾⚽🏐🏈🏉🏀 😃 ✌
Well, I don’t care to see YT creators cook, eat, or make their coffee because I have to do that every day. And I can go to a cooking channel if I want that.
Wow, really nice stuff at ikea...that's my favorite place..... When you was at ikea...did you take the measurements of the items that interest you...,to compare it with your van measurements?

Everytime I hear IKEA, I think of that hilariously "faux"mantic" scene in "Night at the Roxbury"....lmao...where she screams the store name out...lol. 😲 Heck Ya, practicality is the new black when it comes to recycle, renew, and reusin' some of the stuff from "the land line of a previous life", and I am still hesitant on my own bed choice, for my land based beddin' needs, in lieu of something that can be utilized and easily mobilized in a rolling homie wagon...lmao. Missed ya, sippin' some Sunday coffee, but am delighted with your turn't back terrain change and the faux brick wall idea looks way promising. You and The Pupz take care, Chromee. 🐝🦄😎
VANCITY VANLIFE I saw some weirdly and wonderfully funky socks at the Ross Store we just got in our widdle 1 horse town...lol. I thought of you and your unique style of footwear, just as "present"ed in this vid, ee-yo! Yo...lol. I see the new D.C. Comics Converses are just coming out, right, as per the Journey's emails that constantly flood my inbox 🤤...lol? My oldest grandson enjoys a Converse Step because of the wider toe box and the flexibility the fabric gives a very big boyah with some damn near "cankles", yo... (you got some funky fresh feet, yo..lol)...so, which D.C. Comic Superhero would you get tah steppin' in, Chromee? Or is that too personal to ask?....ya know, it is interesting that you wear that choice of foot wear...because as you DJ, and you wear the Converse Style, you literally converse with your music....you converse good vibes to those who can receive the message in that moment...as you dance around in those shoes of the Converse.....and conversate with all those in attendance..... with your beats....lol. Mondays...gotta love em...and they get the brain a movin', too. Here's to a damn great week, Homie-Chromee and your little dog, too. 🐮 PEACE ☯☮♎♾

Chrome, upon exiting Ikea;
"I've seen things" -*thousand yard stare*
lol can't wait to see the upgrades. 👍
IKEA. . You'll be back 🤗 Perfect for van life. I can see your van will be transformed. It's going to be amazing. Happy days
How does the dog handle it when its hot out and u have to leave him? One of my biggest concerns before i commit to this.
i will be using ikea next week...just gotta go pick up my WEEROLL trailer Monday in Florida ...gonna be a long ass drive from Wisconsin .Love that dog!

If you look around long enough you could have lunch there too... I love eating at Ikea, so yummy and such good prices!
The Swedish meatballs!
Got a van...cleaning it up for action. First trip in 2 weeks.

Good look at IKEA, they got so many options...and that brick wall would look sweet in da van...
The brick wall look would be so cool along one wall of the van!
Some people use magnets in their curtain dividers. So cute you bought your baby a ball. So sweet! Nice video! My friend Kim sent me your direction. :-) glad to meet you through our videos :-)
Finally decided this year...van life is for me. Catching up on all your videos tonight. Weirdos unite!
OMG, I know the feeling. Buy a new toy, put it down & have the dog look at you like, "what were you thinking!"
I have a vast collection of DVD movies and a small collection of books. Ideas for when I choose my van so I can get away and have my peace and quiet.
You be jammin the jazz. ..Sunday smooth........yesssssss. ..
Cool trip to Ikea, gets the creative juices flowing. Can’t wait to see what you put together👌🏾!! ❤️🐶🏐
I like your idea of building a little bit at a time.
Haha!! We always eat at Ikea. I have seen tons of van builds with Ikea furniture. Great deals too.
Yes sir, I agree when I’m in public trying to vlog I’m the one, who wondering what are people saying 😂 I have to get a WEIRDOUNITED shirt ASAP, so when they sneak looking I can stand up and point at the shirt 😂

Man, your videos have been helping me through the build I'm currently doing. Thanks!
I always wanted to know how people feel about filming themselves in stores thanks for that info😎
Even i have not watched the video, i know it will be great because it is uploaded by you, liked! :P

Looks like a nice day there weather wise. So cold in Ontario. Just tried of it
Thank you so much for your videos! Some videos on here are like watching paint dry.
Regarding putting furniture in your van, keep in mind that the walls in a van curve inward. Plan accordingly.
Their cinnamon buns are to die for.
I am learning the same thing as I build my van ....you build it and then change it because it didn't work out like you thought it would.
Danika Japanika = recital = cool!!!
One of my nieces took tap and jazz when she was younger and the recitals were fun to watch! 😁
Who came up with Japanika? Funny stuff!
Its good for her and will help to keep her busy! You're very blessed to have a cool daughter to hang out with, I wish that I did. Well have a great week, bro! And of course Disco, you also! ⚾⚽🏐🏈🏉🏀 😃 ✌

💕 Hi Chrome, I love IKEA,. The closest one to me is 12+ hrs away.
Love your vids man so well put together 👍
I know what you were thinking when you looked at that brick wall.......graffiti !!!! lol That would look awesome in the van.
Love the brick graffiti idea
Wow, really nice stuff at ikea...that's my favorite place.....
When you was at ikea...did you take the measurements of the items that interest you...,to compare it with your van measurements?
I wouldn't wall off the back.
Omg i love ikea and those same cubbies you looked at. Your foot tattos are cool, dont be shy with the shower scenes. Lol
Oo oo what did you make the window covering from. MUST KNOW?????
i love that brick look!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You should second hand stores and some garage sales this summer for cheap furniture to fit in
xxoo have a good Sunday bye disco
You could put up the faux brick paneling with the plaster and bonus graffiti. 😎
Im thinking of doing "van life but what are your ideas on bathing and restroom vanlife style?
Welcome to all the new WEIRDOS.....we love you guys!!🙌💞🙌
IKEA has so many wonderful options!! I am excited to see what you end up doing!!
Great idea! It's gonna look great!
If there's a Lowe's near you they have a brick mdf board. Lightweight and you could splotch white paint/faux plaster with a paintbrush. It be cool to have a graffiti wall in the van. Maybe you know an artist who you could commission to personalize the artwork? Idk, just thinkin
Wonder how the ceiling insulation stays up? & if you notice a difference?
Thanks Chrome!
I haven't tried the hot dogs yet but I will, thanks.
Never been zo early! Hi Chrome and Disco :)
divider curtain exactly
What about a bike rack on the front of the van like the busses use
Hey dude how do you secure the cabinets is they don't move. Do you bolt them to the floor
😁😁😁 great video
Everytime I hear IKEA, I think of that hilariously "faux"mantic" scene in "Night at the Roxbury"....lmao...where she screams the store name out...lol. 😲 Heck Ya, practicality is the new black when it comes to recycle, renew, and reusin' some of the stuff from "the land line of a previous life", and I am still hesitant on my own bed choice, for my land based beddin' needs, in lieu of something that can be utilized and easily mobilized in a rolling homie wagon...lmao.
