    Shark Rocket Pro: amzn.to/3o2nJzc
    We begin the video by introducing the V10 and highlighting the different models. We then point out what you get "in the box" with the V10 Absolute. Things we love include the immense power of the vacuum in Max mode, the large dustbin capacity, the effective sound dampening technology, the hard floor cleaner head, the battery recharge time, the relative light weight of the unit (lightweight compared to many other manufacturer's cordless stick vacs), the easy maneuverability of the cleaner head and the vacuum in general, the HEPA filter and sealed system, the tools that click and lock into place, the versatility (handheld and stick vac), and finally its ability to clean well on both carpet and smooth floors.
    I would also like to point out that I make every effort to be unbiased in my videos. If there is something about a product I do not like - I will let you know!

    Just bought a V6 absolute, and for a small house, with not too much carpet and no deep pile, it's great. It doesn't hold much, but it's easy to empty, so I don't consider that even remotely a problem. It's very good a picking up cat hair. Since my older machine is bagged, I have never seen how it does on cat hair, but very impressed so far. Works fine on standard power, and has plenty of battery life to accomplish what I want, at least when new. The little motorized tool is spectacular on cat hair on furniture and slipcovers. The one negative, is I wish it was about 2 inches longer. I'm about 5'11" and in normal use, the body of the thing does run against my wrist if I don't make a conscious effort to hold it just so. If you're under 5'9" or so, it probably wouildn't be a problem..

    Very informative as I look to replace my Oreck. Been an Oreck user for 14 years and this last one was VERY expensive, and not multi floor capable. It doesn't do a good job on tile or hardwoods at all. With most homes in the US having multi-floor options, a multi-floor option is critical for ease of cleaning in comparison to cost.

    Is the new Torque Drive head significantly better than Direct drive head other than the fact that it can pick up larger debris?
    The low end V10 version comes with direct drive head and I like the price of it compare to other ones. But if the torque drive head is that much better, I may just buy it. But do'nt wanna spend extra $100 for small difference..

    Question, is it safe to say that the medium power setting would be good enough for average cleaning? I was thinking it would help that battery last longer.
    Also, can I buy that hard flood head separately if I buy the animal (pet hair) version of this vaccum?

    • @VacuumAdvisor
      @VacuumAdvisor  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whether the medium power setting is sufficient for average cleaning is a bit subjective but we find it does do a reasonable job. With respect to the Soft Roller Cleaner Head, we have seen them sold on Amazon but I would suggest checking on availability/pricing/etc. first.

  • @jaw444

    Thank you SO MUCH for the tip on emptying the bin---i got mine (Absolute) on Amazon 5 days ago (Amazon had it for $515 now, 12/2018 and they offered an installment payment plan!!!! how cool is that?! after i completed the purchase, that option was gone and i'm really glad about my timing, payments about $105 amonth for 4 months, with tax added to the first payment).
    So, i love this thing. Without going into all that, the only problem i had with it was the force needed to open the bin. I couldn't believe that was part of the design. i was about to call Support to ask if i was doing something wrong, or if it was defective. Using your suggestion, the vac is perfect now! yes, you're right, the amount of force felt like i was going to break it, and the last time i did it, the impact when it suddenly opened, broke part of my thumb nail off, it hurt then and it still hurts, and not hard to understand how it happened.
    I can't really express how much i value your information, i will always remember you when i open the now perfectly easy to operate bin, and yes, i really like how easily the debris comes out with this bin--i have a dyson Trigger V6 and that does not expell the debris nearly as easily or completely, and it's so much easier on the V10 to remove debris that doesn't come out automatically. I have adored the V6 but it's recently developed a problem where it shuts off when used for more than a minute or less. I have a cinetic big ball Animal and i love that thing, all the power i could need, but i have noticed that i procrastinate vacuuming because of how heavy it is to move it around the house. The v10 is no substitute for a powerful corded vacuum, but before using the new V10 i thoroughly vacuumed the house (for the first time in months) and have begun using the v10 for touch ups and for reaching areas that it's too hard to reach with the corded machine. Happy as a clam with this new technological team.
    Thanks again, i had come here just to learn more about the new vac and didn't expect that i would get a solution for the one problem i had with it. i will watch more of your videos, have subscribed.

      @DwithBoost 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you don't feel like you can use this as your only vacuum? I'm considering buying the V10 Absolute but for $480 it better be everything I need in a vacuum.

    • @jaw444
      @jaw444 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DwithBoost before i bought this recently, i read a lot of reviews on Amazon. i mainly read mostly the most negative ones, i could see it was a 4 star average and i knew it would be a good vacuum, i read some of the good ones too, but what i could see was the most common complaint about the vacuum was that the charge didn't last long enough to clean more than one room of a house or apartment, and then there were comments on some of those reviews saying that those who commented had learned that there are ways to successfully use this vacuum for the whole house, and these included using the vacuum mainly and mostly on the low and medium settings, avoiding the high setting, which they said worked well (using the medium and low settings) and the other thing was, some people said they used this vacuum to clean different parts of the house on different days, not try to clean the whole house, definitely not on one charge. (btw, for my needs, charging is fast, it's maybe 2-3 hours if it's at the lowest discharge).
      There were other things people recommended to get the most enjoyable use out of the vacuum. Those things in particular sounded like something i could do. I'm just speaking for myself, i haven't tried to vacuum my whole house with it. When the vacuum first arrived i vacuumed with my corded one, cinemetic big all animal, which is plenty powerful, but frankly i don't enjoy using it because it's heavy and i have to empty the cannister several times in one whole house cleaning, i have to go outside to empty it, it's a hassle, it's been tricky for me to get the cannister back on, to line it up right. So, based on the good reviews i read, i thiought it was worth trying out the V10 with much confidence, i got it in November and i've used it several times for up to an hour or more, and i use it almost only on medium, i just haven't given low a chance, it probably is adequate and useful and the charge would last even longer. The charge has never run out, i always did what i wanted to do and stopped when i was ready. i never try to do the whole house but i could do the largest and most used rooms and never have it go dead.
      I'm still getting used to it and the more i use it, the more i find it can do more than i thought. it doesn't seem like i have to empty the cannister any more than the corded one, and it's way easier to empty, i can just empty it inside the house. the other bigger one allowed a lot of dust to spread into the air when i emptied it, while i can just empty the V10 into a tall wastebasket in the kitchen and it's done, it empties really efficiently, the motor seems better protected from dust than on the corded one, and this makes the V10 very quick to empty and clean.
      So i definitely am less likelly to procrastinate on vacuuming, it's pretty fun to use, light and easy to handle, to steer, it goes very flat, and i love the hand held, with lots of attachments. Unlike any Dyson i ever got before (this is the 4th) this comes with all the main tool attachments i could need.
      my answer to your question is i think it depends on the person and maybe how dirty the house gets, and i read a number of reviews where people said they use it like a regular vacuum. in my case, that is also true for me because the bigger heavier one tired me out too much and i didn't use it to clean the whole house at one time anyway. i have been surprised and impressed at how powerfully the V10 cleans, so, i find that while i will plan to run the corded vac first in a room that hasn't been vacuumed in a long time, with lots of dust and pet hair and other hair, and small debris, i ended up not doing that and just using the V10, and it had no problem, though i did need to run it on high power for certain parts of that job, and it's dramatic how fast the charge goes down on High. Big difference. But like i said, i'm just getting used to it and finding it's more effective than i thought it would be, and i don't expect to use the corded one anymore--at least i haven't used it since i started using the V10. i ran the corded one once in the main rooms, and not including the hard floor rooms, not needed, most of the house is wall to wall carpet and i did vacuum once with the corded vacuum before i started using the V10, when the house hadn't been vacuumed in months. i don't know if that was really necessary or not. It might not have been.

    Thank you so much for these videos, which are very helpful at showing the pros and cons of these vacs. I am very keen to get a Dyson V8 or Dyson V10, but am concerned about the longevity of the machine, especially given the extremely steep price tag. I was close to ordering one last night, but then read some of the negative user reviews on Amazon for both the V8 and the V10. Has anyone had experience with owning a Dyson stick vac for more than a year or two? Also very concerning to me is that the negative Amazon reviews universally mentioned the horrendous customer service from Dyson when trying to resolve the failures of the vacs they had purchased. Any thoughts? Thanks!

      I've called support two or three or four times in the past week, first about a problem i was having with my V6, and then for things related to the new V10 i got a few days ago, not brecuse of a problem with the machine, it's awesome so far, exceeding expectations, medium setting is all i've needed to use, but i called for purchase related questions. i had a feeling the reps were maybe, not for sure, not as knowledgeable as previously, i got my first Dyson vac in 2007, have a total of 5 now over those years, and have had some contacts with support. An impression i have, just a guess based on a couple of things, is that Dyson doesn't have as much staff covering support as they used to, so that there are long hold times, they do give the option to call you back without losing your place in line which i used and the representative called me back in less than the time predicted on the recording when i left the message. It's just a small sample size but i didn't get the feeling that the reps i talked to were as connected with me 'personally' as what i've been accustomed to, or that what i was calling about was understood, and when i called yesterday about a registration question, i hung up realizing i had forgotten to ask something important (after needing to use the call back feature because of long hold time), and i realized that i felt rushed about getting off the phone on that very short call, and i speculated this was because they don't have enough staff to cover their calls as much as they used to. Whether staff training in customer relations has changed, it's too soon for me to draw that conclusion but it did occur to me. please understand, this is only based on 3 or 4 calls. But after finishing with my registration question, i think the rep asked if there was anything else she couild do to help, and i said that i would like to findout how to buy accessories for the vacuum---i was mainly wondering how to find them on the website, with prices, and to be able to order online. I was frustrated that i couldn't find that info. This rep said that i would buy the accessories by calling customer service, and that was all she said, she didn't go into any details, she didn't say "Is there an accessory i can help you with?" She was dead silent, and i reacted to that by saying, "ok, i understand," and just getting off the phone, aware that these reps have a lot of calls waiting to be answered and i wasn't sure i was ready to buy that day--i really wanted to browse info about what they have for the V10 and what the prices are, i didn't want to have to go through calling the company to talk to a rep who is extremely busy with all kinds of other things. Seems weird to me. Like they're hiding something about selling the accessories. i don't see any on Amazon--i see third party accessories, but not the one i was mostly looking for.
      So if i did have a problem with the vacuum (i read the same Amazon reviews before buying the V10, i just went straight to the one star reviews and read about people who were upset because they couldn't get 6 minutes out of the vac at high power setting with the motor tools attached, and like you said, complaints about responsiveness of customer service.
      Another thing that i wasn't reassured by was the 2 year limited warranty. In the past my Dyson products had a 7 year warranty. Maybe this was because they were corded, i don't remember it it was true of the hand held i have, i assumed it. But i notice now that the corded vacs warranty is 5 years. Too bad an extended warranty wasn't offered, through Asurion or one of the others that Amazon sometimes offers. Those might offer extended warranties anyway, i think they do if you contact them.
      One of the reps i recently talked to was very pleasant and spent time to find out the answer to my question. it was before i bought the new vac and i wanted to make sure Amazon is an authorized Dyson seller, to be sure their warranty applies. That representative put me on hold to get all the right information. All though i didn't ask, when she was consulting with manager, she came back with information that Dyson would do a price match with the Amazon price--Dyson's price was over $600, Amazon's was $515.

    Why don’t most reviews talk about the new battery type,(Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminium) Google it. No battery replacement like the Lithium ones every 2 Years! James Dyson promises the Cyclone V10's battery will last 15 years? I sold my V8 absolute to a friend and bought the V10 absolute and love it, especially the medium speed , larger bin and much easier to empty than the V8.
    All tools, including motorized ones , from the V7-V10 fit with no adapter needed. I hope the next version has some led lights, like my German Miele canister power brush does.

      @dtz1000 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Gilitar Is that the IF250? I thought the shark ion flex had less power than even the V6. So if true then it stands no chance against the V10. Shark cordless cleaners are very overrated. They have less power than a V6 and are much heavier than any of the Dyson cordless cleaners.
      There's a comparison video against the Dyson V7 where the V7 easily picks up more stuff than the IF250. So there's your answer. Shark is crap compared to Dyson.

      Yeah, I was wondering about this too. My house is practically 75% carpet, so I'm considering the motorhead, but wanted to know if later on down the line I decide to throw out my broom (haha) if I can still get the soft roller brush. Hmm...

    It seems me the whole problem with the Dyson is they don't have a replacement battery. So that if you use up the battery you have to wait to recharge it to use it again.

      This way you will buy another one when they introduce that feature. And when they introduce a switch that you can touch on and off, you will purchase that one. And when they introduce one with a retracting cord, you will purchase that one. And when they introduce one that has Bluetooth, you will buy that one. And when they introduce one with all of that and it is a half a pound lighter, you will buy that one. And such...

  • @dtz1000
    @dtz1000 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's a disappointing result for the sound output. The Dyson V8 is quieter in low power mode than the Dyson V10 in low power mode, but the V10 low power mode is significantly less powerful than the V8 low power mode. Most of the time you will use the V10 in mid power mode so that is going to be even louder.

    • @hitchjack
      @hitchjack 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      dtz1000 I find it unlikely anyone would be bothered about the sound of a vacuum. Surely cleaning performance trumps sound any day of the week?

    • @dtz1000
      @dtz1000 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jack Morris You don't get it. The video shows that the V10 is louder than the V8 while outputing less power than the V8. That happens when both machines are in low power mode as that mode is significantly less powerful on the V10 than on the v8 while at the same time being louder than the v8. So the v10 literally doesn't clean as well as the V8 and is louder while in this low power mode. I think that warrants some disappointment.

    • @hitchjack
      @hitchjack 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      dtz1000 ah I see. Well yes you’d think it’d be quieter if less powerful in low power mode, but maybe it’s just the way the motor is engineered to give that really powerful top end. I personally think a vacuum is going to make a loud noise whatever mode and it’s kind of irrelevant how loud they are whilst they make any noise at all.
