Clearly Raylan never gave Willa the spanking she so truly needs. She comes across as such a little PITA who thinks it's a great idea to walk around the bad side of a town she's never been in before, and then lets herself get picked up by a guy twice her age, who, by the way, only kills people on days of the week that end with the letter "y". The bad guy is a second-rate Joker, but he's still dangerous. Willa: "You don't want me here." Me: "Keep acting the way you are and whether you're here or not will not be a choice I'll have to make...."
It's what happens when girls are raised without daddies, and when daddies obey momma's wishes that they stay away. Of course, if the daddy insisted on being there for the girls, in this day and age, the troopers would take him right to jail and he'd wind up with a restraining order. A daddy can't win for losing. Ask me how I know....
This could have been a great scene but good lord, the actor who plays Willa is SOOOOOO bad. I know that's Olyphant's IRL daughter but very weird they barely have any onscreen chemistry. Her line readings are stilted, she can barely enunciate, and the writing is also pretty garbage. There's an interesting parallel here between Raylan/Willa and Raylan/Winona. He did the same thing to her mom when they were together and eventually lost her (and we know regrets losing her every time). Willa asking Raylan if she's even in his life is really sad but the acting is so bad, it loses it's potency. Sidenote, they really tried to pull off a 19-20yo playing a 15 year old and it's so painfully obvious she's older but her baby voice is really tripping me up. Ugh, I hated this new series.
I understand completely how a father would like to work with his child. But this isn't community theater - it's a highly anticipated sequel to an extremely popular series. And when I think of how many talented young actresses would have killed for a chance to do this role, and then to watch it handed to the lead actor's daughter and have her turn in such a weak performance ... well, this explains why nepotism rules exist.

I don't mind Willa being a typical teenager. But the actress (who yes, is Olyphant's real kid) looks about 20, sounds about 5, and is dressed like what a 45 year old thinks a 15 year old would wear in 2023. Not to mention the show is suppose to take place in the summer in Detroit. She's dressed like it's near fall. Everything about Willa's characterization is off and I fear the actress may need to enroll in some acting classes asap.
all the pissing and moaning about raylan not being raylan. 15-20 years will change a person. 15-20 years with a daughter will REALLY change a person. people tend to grow up over time.
Episodes are so boring. Justified seems like a show that had comedy but also new ones suspense and drama that made sense. here it all feels boring. There’s clearly a plot here that demands to be thrilling as suspenseful just played so boringly the characters make choices that make no sense.
I think it's more acting tbh. I liked the idea of including Willa and the writing was ok (not great though). But they cast maybe the worst actor in the history of the series for this role.
There's no magic in this series.
She is great in that role. They both great. :)
I agree there, obviously any one that says that Willa don’t, never had any thing to do with teenage kids, that been sepratated.
The new series doesn’t hold a candle to the original, as much as I like to watch Timothy, I can’t quite get into this show.
that's not my Boyd!
Deacon Palmer from King of Queens LOL
That was not my Boyd!
His daughter is such a brat.
You wanna know a funny fact? That’s really Timothy’s daughter.
Or .... brain-damaged
No she isn't. You have mental problems.
Nepotism is alive and well in hollyweird

2:41 -- Not knowing anything about her except what I just saw, I have to assume she is being arrested for blowing on dice.
😝
ohh the drama of brats.

Uh how and why is everything his fault? Feminist much?

IRL Father and daughter screen time... is this what I think it is?
Yep. She's a brat.
This is timothy oliphat. This is not Raylan Givens.
is it just me or does her voice not match the character at all lol

Does Raylan's daughter have a working brain ? Gen Z....who knew ?

This girl's character is garbage. If the writers couldn't come up with a better series, they certainly shouldn't have produced this one either.

The show should never have gotten a restart.
Woke as the dead in The Mummy.
She's great. What's your problem?
Good lord, this show sucks
Kids are so ignorant lately...pathetic the path they are going ..
LOL Written by middle age writers. You do realize that's a fictional character.
No they do not.
