Chemistry between Timothy Olyphant and Natalie Zea is top notch and you can just feel how much these two characters are attracted to each other and have a deep connection. I hope they get back together and actually get to have those "two rocking chairs on a porch" moment.
they should have written ava off and given winona all that screen time. i'd love to have seen raylan and winona working it out throughout the series and then riding off into the sunset together.
The final scene where Raylan looks at Winona is pure love. He will always love Winona and she will always love him. The scene with Willa is so sweet. ❤

Since then, they have been back together plenty. That's their pattern. He's always going to long for her. He's only been in love once and it's with Winona. She will always love him. They just have to find their way back to each other.
All these years later and Winona is still gorgeous. Raylan is a fool for not retiring sooner and he probably wouldn't have lost her. But I also want 15 more seasons of Justified, so I guess we all don't get what we want. These two still have fire chemistry.

It's kind of sad to see Raylan still alone and probably a bit lonely. But I'd bet these two are still foolin' around on the side. So, season 2 with Boyd and Raylan and Winona back together?
This scene had more chemistry between two actors than a single scene in all of City Primeval. I think in the original series, it's about 6 or 7 years since Winona leaves Raylan and then they get back together multiple times. 10 years isn't going to change his feelings for her. Maybe she's happier with her new husband but the story has always been that these two will always be in love with each other.
The character would be right at the usual age for federal LE retirement, and close to the mandatory maximum... so the 'surprise' aspect is poetic license.

I’ve never watched this series largely because I thought that the end of “Justifed” was so perfect I didn’t need to. We see that Raylan and Winona are on good terms in Miami and that Ava has finally found peace That final scene in prison between Raylan and Boyd and “we dug coal together” was superb.
I feel like that last moment in this scene is very telling. It mirrors the end of the original series finale with them, him watching her walk away. Similar look on his face. You can tell he's still in love with her. That's never going to change. Maybe they will get back together if the show comes back.

The absolute best scene in City Primeval. Starts with the conversation with Winona and then Boyd's escape. I don't need to see Willa but whatever, she's there. Raylan and Winona still have incredible chemistry and the way he's watching her drive away is the most emotional scene in the entire series. He's never going to get over her. I don't blame the man.

Not a huge fan of Primeval but to be fair, anything would pale in comparison to the original Justified. So now how about a “Taken” sort of movie where we get to watch Raylan rescue his daughter, or Winona, or heck, even Boyd.
No, he can't rescue Boyd, Taken style. But Boyd HAS to be in it. Some kind of reluctant team up, like 48 Hrs, or the like. And in the end, Boyd betrays Raylan, and escapes, but Raylan just can't bring himself to shoot Boyd, in order to stop him escaping. Because they dug coal together.
I love Timothy Olyphant and I always will. His portrayal of Raylan Givens and Seth Bullock are amazing, but his daughter is not a very good actor. I don't want to disrespect him or her, but she just was not very good and this reboot or whatever you want to call it was nowhere near as good as Justified. Something my father and I have been arguing about for months. I seriously can't believe he thought this was better than Justified. This is the man that raised me and fueled my love of westerns

I suspect you don't understand what the word toxic means. Her asking him a simple question and one that is perfectly valid isn't toxic. They clearly have a solid co-parenting relationship and love each other.
I don't think it's a happy ending because he doesn't actually seem happy and at peace. When Winona asks him if he's ok, he doesn't even seem like he believes his answer.
Raylan wasn't making dough. He lives in a pretty run down house. And he was a pretty deadbeat dad throughout the series, so the fact that she even allows him to have custody is gracious on Winona's end.
Doesn't Winona come from money? She always struck me as pretty spoiled and her sister's house was super nice. I feel like she grew up with money especially since Raylan was so insecure about how little he had when it came to Winona. I don't think she ever needed him for money. She's a gorgeous woman who can get any man she wants.
He should have played Winona's husband. The dude who plays him in S6 was alright but I just don't believe a woman as incredibly attractive as Winona is marrying anyone but a Raylan-level hottie. Gary being the outlier of course.

But she be the 1st 1 to tell you that there were times in our marriage when she is absolutely got tired some of the things that I've done. Especially when I was on active duty In the navy. I'll be perfectly honest with you they were times I was an absolute s***. I'm not proud of that either. It took me a long time to grow up And she put up with that when she didn't have to.
They have a kid together and they clearly have a healthy co-parenting relationship. Not to mention that him leaving the job was literally the ONE thing she had always wanted and ultimately doomed every attempt to get back together. Getting away from Winona was the best thing that could happen to save Raylan his manhood. The fact that after he had earned his own self respect and was entering the later years of his life was THEN ready for a quieter life is the way of the man of action. Yeah, Raylan will always have a desire for Winona, but as a man, he will never give up his self respect for her, and as a "me first" woman, she will never admit that she was wrong.

She saves his life in Season 2 when she goes to Art and tearfully pleads to save him and they get there just in time before he is shot in the head by Doyle. And then she saves his life again in Season 3 when he is about to be framed for Gary's murder. She finds the gun and gives it to him. How convenient we forget that Winona actually has some really great qualities!

I don't think it's a happy ending because he doesn't actually seem happy and at peace. When Winona asks him if he's ok, he doesn't even seem like he believes his answer.

Raylan wasn't making dough. He lives in a pretty run down house. And he was a pretty deadbeat dad throughout the series, so the fact that she even allows him to have custody is gracious on Winona's end.
Doesn't Winona come from money? She always struck me as pretty spoiled and her sister's house was super nice. I feel like she grew up with money especially since Raylan was so insecure about how little he had when it came to Winona. I don't think she ever needed him for money. She's a gorgeous woman who can get any man she wants.
They needed to have had Josh Duhamel do a cameo…
He should have played Winona's husband. The dude who plays him in S6 was alright but I just don't believe a woman as incredibly attractive as Winona is marrying anyone but a Raylan-level hottie. Gary being the outlier of course.
But that was Jason "Iron Eagle" Gedrick as Winona's husband in S6.

@@Ally.Cat.252 Sorry, I should have been more clear. It's mandatory retirement for federal law enforcement officers, including deputy U.S. marshals. I believe it's 57 years old after 20 years of service which Raylan has certainly completed.

They have a kid together and they clearly have a healthy co-parenting relationship. Not to mention that him leaving the job was literally the ONE thing she had always wanted and ultimately doomed every attempt to get back together. It's a massive life decision and Raylan stepping away from the one thing that defined him. Why wouldn't she feel like it was a huge surprise that came out of nowhere?

@@Aimee_Oakland Nah...this scene proves that for Winona, EVERYTHING is about HER. She just HAS to have her way, or she will "take her ball and go home." Getting away from Winona was the best thing that could happen to save Raylan his manhood.
Raylan was a man of action, and If he had knuckled under to her demands earlier in his career, he would have had to spend the rest of his life as a cuck. The fact that after he had earned his own self respect and was entering the later years of his life was THEN ready for a quieter life is the way of the man of action.
Yeah, Raylan will always have a desire for Winona, but as a man, he will never give up his self respect for her, and as a "me first" woman, she will never admit that she was wrong.
Winona would have been dead or in jail if he had not been a Marshal.

She saves his life in Season 2 when she goes to Art and tearfully pleads to save him and they get there just in time before he is shot in the head by Doyle. And then she saves his life again in Season 3 when he is about to be framed for Gary's murder. She finds the gun and gives it to him. How convenient we forget that Winona actually has some really great qualities!
