If you're going to protest, do it peacefully, holding hands with one another...Children, innocent civilains, and the elderly are dying on both sides. Scream, but to end the war period. Don't fight against each other, your voices wont be heard that way, and pray that the suffering ends soon. The idea that they should “just leave the school” is so unproductive. If everyone just left a place because they didn’t like what was happening then nothing would get done. If you believe in something you simply do not leave and this is concerning both sides. Since Israeli students feel threatened, shouldn’t they just leave the schools by your logic? Since children are so unsafe in k-12 schools shouldn’t we all just be homeschooled? The idea to “just leave” shows the privilege you have within the system. You can just fall back on it without the moral concerns of the fact that the places are still funding what many have been referring to as a genocide. The privilege allows many people to ignore outside issues because it’s not directly affecting them. Doesn’t mean we should ignore it tho.

Grandmothers should be in bed by now. Know your American history. Every bit of change ever achieved in this country started out by peaceful protests being ignored, and then when they're argument developed and their demands were pronounced, they were met with security or police forces trying to squash them. Governments, corporations, and institutions are not going to change by themselves if you simply ask nicely. It is unfortunate that there is conflict between people that could result into violence, but those with power will exploit that conflict and use any violence as a distraction from the real issue so that they won't have to change. Harming? Maybe. Most schools have codes of conduct concerning behaviors like vandalism. Expelling students might not be appropriate under every code of conduct. Schools should follow their codes of conduct, a code that is often devised with input from student government.
Criticizing? No. Students are allowed to criticize. That said, there's a decent argument to be made that students who pay tens of thousands a year to attend a school are justified in occupying space on campus and in demanding a say in how that money is invested. I don't support violence, vandalism, and breaking in, of course, but students who aren't doing those things should be allowed to protest.

      One thing about that ...
Firing on people to provoke them - is a very old Communist tactic.
      They started WWII that way
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco_Polo_Bridge_incident
and did it all through the Vietnam War.
So - while I can't say if the National Guard was actually fired on at Kent State - I can say that this is exactly the kind of thing Communists have done repeatedly throughout History - and - that at Kent State - the result was exactly what they wanted.
Here - you need to understand - that if Communists DID fire on the National Guard - they WANTED to provoke the NG into killing students. That was the whole reason for provoking them.
Similar things have been done repeatedly in the US from the Chicago Riots in '68 to recent BLM demonstrations.
You have groups of people who intend to demonstrate peacefully - but - there are those among them - that WANT to provoke the Police into attacking these demonstrators.
In '68 - they had Cameras posted on top of buildings to record it all. They of course - edited out - the provocateurs.
There's even a song about _"Instigators"_ doing that

oh Jesus. The same thing happened when people tried to stop the Vietnam War and countless other causes which the people did have an impact. In fact every bit of social change ever achieved in this country was started out by aware people who could see a social injustice and decide to organize and to demonstrate to bring awareness to the cause and to help force social change. Governments and institutions don't change on their own, and they will often call on their security forces or the police to squash them, and those in power will exploit the situation the first chance they get to distract people's attention from the original cause. Go to bed already!

? We don't have freed0m of speech then. Every bit of social change we ever achieved in the history of the U.S. started out with people organizing together, protesting, speaking, and demonstrating for a just cause, and when those in power don't want to change, which is often the case, they send in their security forces or the police to squash what they are doing. In the past, it has taken decades to achieve something tangible, but in this day and age, it should be much faster. If you don't have any clue as to what the students are trying to do nor have any clue about our true ugly history of imperialism, why should we listen to you. Do you know how long it take to get a 40 hour work week. Demonstrators were killed over it, and I am some clueless person like yourself said the same lame thing 90 years ago.

Protest in Gaza. And pay your own plane fare to get there. Get a job. Do volunteer work. Give back to society. Be productive.

Protestors need to put their money where their mouths are by donating to the relief aid instead of wasting time, effort, & money that benefits no one & has solved nothing.

Form protests at the churches nationwide as well as college campuses. Bringing together church and state, but do it peacefully and the message will grow quite large and powerful as it matures.

Two years ago immigration was still heavily restricted, soooo not actually part of the recent up tic. Also did they just sneak in at the end that it wasn't even known if he actually WAS a part of Isis?
