    I finally get to do another unboxing video and this time it is the new version of my current race bike. This is definitely a first look at this bike but I am super biased in my opinion because of how much I have enjoyed racing my current oiz.

    That is one very light Trail bike. I like these Orbea they are cheaper and better specced than Trek can do

    I came from the Canyon Neuron CF 8 and wanted something that would climb better and be more nimble and bought the Orbea Oiz M10 tr. What I didn't expect is that this bike is way stiffer and in more experienced hands than mine for sure much quicker. But what I gain going up, I tend to lose going down. And to be honest the reward for burning legs going up is that sweet descent. Winter came but before that I had a couple of runs at my local trail track and actually got worse lap times than on my "heavy" Canyon Neuron. So if you're a middle aged guy with too large of a budget compared to your skill this might not be the bike you need. Those who give it praise though are probably proficient XC bikers, and they're not wrong.

      That’s a very good point that a lot of people miss. No matter how “good” a bike is, it might not mesh with your riding style. At the end of the day, we are the motor/controller of the bike. I’m sure you could put Nino Schurter on a $500 hard tail and he would still ride circles around me😂

    Does this frame have an alloy rear triangle? or is it just the rear shock linkage that is alloy? It would be interesting to see what the frame alone weighs.

    Awesome!!! Cant wait to get mine. Should be getting here in August (ordered in march). I got lucky as the shop was getting the bike in but the original guy pulled out. I was putting a deposit for the 2022 version (whatever that will be) and the shop realised. I was like hell yea!!!!
    Its the normal m10 not the TR version.

    Those orbea mtn bikes look cool. We have a bike shop in Johnson city, TN that sells this brand. I just may go visit that shop and look at the Obea bikes. Just do not want to own 2 treks. I just bought a trek marlin 8 entry level hardtail mtn bike.

    I'm still trying to decide between an Oiz M30 for $3750 or a custom-built Oiz 120mm TR version that a customer special ordered with a custom paint job & pulled out of the deal. It comes with Sashima coated front & rear Fox shocks + Shimano XT everything for $4500. I only ride gravel roads in Central Mexico and the races here don't have a lot of chunk. There are gnarly climbs but nothing too technical. Decisions, decision

    really nice looking bike. i was wondering how come Maxis logo on tires is in yellow, but after you said customer wanted different set, it all made sense. what's your opinion, what can we expect with bike and component prices in like two years from now, when everything kind of settles a bit? everyone is working full steam, to meet increased demand, and prices are higher than before. but, do you expect prices to go down in two years, with all increased production?

    • @MossieRidesBikes
      @MossieRidesBikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is hard for me to forecast with any kind of accuracy. Right now we have the bigger bike companies like Giant, Trek, Specialized at least having soooome inventory. I looked yesterday at Bianchi's order form for current US bikes and they had literally two to order. I think prices wont come back to pre covid levels only because the manufacturers know that people will pay at the current price but I also know that demand won't stay this high forever. At the very least I think it will be 2023 before any kind of new price action occurs. I only say that because we are being told inventory won't normalize until at least the end of 2022. It's nuts right now!

      @@MossieRidesBikes well, guess I have time to save up some cash for upgrade. liking my XTC SLR; but few things might eventually be better. just pointless to try to change anything now, without dire need. plus, if I stay disciplined, might save up for another bike. damn that n+1 rule. but will need to think is it stupid to have something like XTC SLR and Phantom, since I don't race and we don't have bike parks or decent trails around here. guess two years, or how long it takes to save some money, is enough time for proper decision :D

    Hi,
    I am currently in doubt between an Oiz M10 TR or an Occam M10. i like to do more trail riding en want to try some light enduro now and then. But for this type of riding i always need to drive up to 70miles to get to some good spots (im from Belgium). So i am afraid that in general i will be over travelled if i go for the Occam, on the other hand i really would like its geometry if i do get to those spots. What is your oppionion about this? I dont want to split up my budget to get both with lesser specs and more weight, i just want one do it al bike, for short intens rides and sessions to all day in the saddle soaking up the miles on lesser rough surfaces.

    • @MossieRidesBikes
      @MossieRidesBikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I always advise people to pick the bike for what they are going to use it for 90% of the time. That’s why I have essentially the TR Oiz as most of my riding isn’t in the enduro realm. That being said, when I do make it out to the harder trails a few times a month the OIZ TR handles it all just fine.

    Completely agree with you on the squidloc. That bolt placement makes no sense. I also wish the would’ve done something less sharp for the end of the dropper level. I have had it scrape my knee a few times on switchback climbs

    6:22 4-piston on a xc bike?

    • @MossieRidesBikes
      @MossieRidesBikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Since it is the TR version I wouldn't mind having the 4 pistons. My current XC setup only has two which works great for the true XC races but if you are doing a big event like ORAMM that has a 30 minute decent they would come in handy. More of a personal preference 🤗
