Went to the Barry festival of transport back in June this year. It was the first bus event I ever went to. I took photos of some of the buses, including the bustler ford automobile bus and the Cardiff bus dennis dart. I also recorded one of the preserved Cardiff bus leyland lynxes entering the showground. It was great!

Thanks for sharing, I have never heard of the Barry Festival until now, glad you have commented. I had a look at the event and preservation group which look great, some interesting vehicles as well. I would definitely recommend attending events like these, often you bump into the same crowd of people where everyone shares a interest. I particularly liked seeing the Leyland Lynx, they are pretty rare. :)

Superb video👍🏻 Do you know where Lothian’s own 117, x285, 322, 667 & 777 are now? They never seem to run

Thanks for commenting, all of those vehicles I believe are owned by Lothian Buses as part of their Heritage Fleet under their Lothian Motorcoach arm from what I've heard within the bus community. I've not seen those vehicles either since pre covid. Lothian Buses have their open day coming up, not sure whether any will be on display though I know likely several will hopefully be there from Scottish Vintage Bus Museum which are owned by various members. There is a separately planned event due to take place on the same day as the open day with some vintage vehicles running but not sure if going ahead at this stage. If that does go ahead that will be a mixture of scotland wide vehicles. I'll see if I can find out any more information.

Thanks for commenting Alex! What was 101 like to drive? When was it was service? It's always to great to see it out on the roads, very rare sight. :)

Why does 659s engine sound so different from 595 and basils ?

659 has an Eminox exhaust, where as the others don’t. They all have the same engine. LRT fitted the Atlantean fleet with Eminox Exhausts in the early 90s to reduce emissions.
