Get well 👑 Queen
Ah man. Get well soon.
"Ride" (1998) Comedy/Drama Movie When Leta Evans (Melissa De Sousa), who has dreamed for years of being a music video director, becomes an assistant to a famous director, she wants to make a good impression. Her first job will be transporting the cast of a video from New York to Miami. However, due to a tight budget, they will have to travel by bus. The strict Poppa (Malik Yoba) watches out for the crew, but there is still ample opportunity for trouble -- which could end Leta's directing career before it begins.
@@clarencesimmons8580 I remember ride with Sticky Fingaz and Malik Yoba!
Get well soon!
Taye Diggs has played the some of the best commitment-phobes...Best Man, Brown Sugar and The Wood. And Sanaa Lathan is nearly always in the mix...
He's a lowkey rom com king.
This was a low key classic. It might not have the critical acclaim of other movies that came out at that time but it probably aged better. It definitely makes me reminisce on those innocent days of trying to figure out how to talk to a girl you like, being scared of someone and having to overcome it and fight them, the pressures to break your virginity, school dances etc. It's always fun to go back to those times.
A girl like me ? I was a nerdy girl in glasses no one was checking for me 😂🤓
@@StruggleReviewzTV Don't feel bad. I was a nerd in junior high. I didn't get cool until high school. I was awkward around girls.
Why do you think this movie wasn't as big back then
@@NorthPhilly-zr7xc That's a good question. I have no idea. It might have just been bad timing. This came out a week after American Pie which also dealt with high school and losing virginity but on a more outrageous level.
@@ContextReallyMatters Me too!!!
I'm not black and this movie is universal. It's just one of the best coming off age movies regardless of the race of the cast or the viewers.
No idea how likes work on TH-cam but I like this.
Exactly. Very universal. A beautiful thing.
I actually thought Stacy was a nice person. He won me over. He protected his sister, he made sure the boys were ok by taking them to the dance, He gave Mike his blessing, He’s faithful to his gf. Stacy was a good hood man. 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also Stacy was in DOPE. The whole theater in NYC started screaming when he showed up on the screen. It was amazing.
In a see of yt content creators, I love having someone who discusses black movies lol. Another one of my fav classics
I love this movie. Why didn't they let Melinda play herself as the grown version? Sana looks nothing like her.
I never understood that especially with them all being around the same age!
@@StruggleReviewzTV Exactly. 😄
@@StruggleReviewzTV the age gap part was super strange...
This is what I will never understand lol. Or they could have at least had another actress who looked similar to Melinda play the older version.
Malinda Williams is the eternal teenager.
This is a classic movie. I haven't seen this movie in a minute.
By the way I watched the entire Soulfood series from beginning to end it was one of the best shows ❤️❤️
Man I go rewatch it at times! We don’t have shows like that anymore
@@StruggleReviewzTV I totally agree
Sean Nelson is so underrated!!! I ❤️ him in The Corner.
The Corner was my ish
Yup. And the movie FRESH
Great review, The Wood is a good film, the director Rick Famuyiwa also directed the film DOPE
Thank you ❤️
Girl, you’ve reviewed all of my favorites, The Wood, Life, Brown Sugar, Love n Basketball, Soul Food & The Best Man. Black movies at the best. Top tier. Sanaa is my favorite actor and anything with her and Taye, I definitely love.
I also have every single one of these on VHS. & a few on DVD.
This movie has always been that cool classic that I’ve always enjoyed. Can you do a review on Light it up?
It’s on Hulu I never really watched that one like that so it would be like a 1st time watch I seen it once year ago
@9:25 - hahaha, was that the classic "pump it, pump it, pump it.. the knees the knees" moment from Martin?
Yes PEAAAAAAACEEEE! 😂
@@StruggleReviewzTV hahaha
excellent review, this brought back alotta good memories. The Wood was a good one and a good fit it any collection.
I totally could relate to Mike's character, growing up in Brooklyn Crooklyn as a Haitian that migrated to the states at 9yrs old. One of my favorite movies. Great review!
Thank you! ❤️
This film is IT. It's one of my favorites. It's a Man's film... Honestly, just like the Best Man and Boyz in the Hood.
Now I'll watch this every opportunity I get. You can keep Love and Basketball. I wasn't for the struggle love even back when it came out. 🤣🤣🤣 This movie reminds me of myself as Mike moving to Houston from Chicago. I was on foreign land lol, but I met my bffs in elementary school and we're all still cool today. Maybe that's why I love this movie so much. 🤔
Intro is golden once again 😂😂😂 top notch review!
Thank you 🙏🏾❤️ you know I’m going for that Oscar! 😂
@@StruggleReviewzTV yes mam I’m gonna be waiting on that Viola Davis speech because you ready 🤣💜
Love the content by the way just a suggestion have you done two can Play that game the first one with vivica A fox Morris Chestnut Anthony Anderson Monique and Gabrielle Union?
This is the movie to my life.
The wood is a classic! The anxiety of not knowing how to dance and talking to the opposite gender in jr. HS is hilarious! Big Mike practice dancing with that rabbit...lol. Another awesome commentary as well as reactions. Enjoyable
Oh yea this is a great movie. I used to watch it all the time because it was always shown on TV. But I like it more now..its better as an adult.
That intro 😂😂😂😂
The accent that Sean Nelson gave is no NC accent I’ve ever heard. I am a North Carolinian born and raised. We ain’t THAT country and we sure as hell ain’t that naive and awkward toward the world.
I ❤❤ this movie soooo much. I miss the real black Hollywood. Fabulous review💕💕
Lisa's dad was the lead Jamaican in Caught Up.
Propah droppa 😂 😂 😂
@@G-TV_TheOneManArmy
DEED MEN DON'T TALK!!!🤦🤣
@@MississippiKaijuMusic aww man it's been a year since I seen that movie its not bad but it's no masterpiece so bad it's good 😂
@@G-TV_TheOneManArmy
It's one of my favorites.
You get it all from car chases and shoot outs to sex and Jamaicans with neck problems.😂🤦
Stacey played in the last season of snowfall as Skully, he killled that role!
I was so happy to see him there!
It’s great to see him working again.
This video is just now popping up in my feed idk why but im glad😂😂this was great🙌🏾🔥
I just subscribed been binge watching all weekend and now still going 😍😍
I had the roll-a-paper when i was a kid. I kept all the #'s i pulled on there. As long as u pulled at least 1 # u was good. There was one homie that nevah pulled, we called him Goose Egg, Goose or Big Goose.

@@StruggleReviewzTV Yea but Black dont crack we age 10 years less then every body else🤣

Struggle, I think doing The Movie Fresh maybe the next move.
11:31 How did this image not become a name?😂
My most embarrassing school moment was starting my lady days unknowingly smh
What still trip me when I did that girl said do I know you
Stacy’s gf was Ileana from Menace II Society. Lol
Sis, you know you can carry a tune and you sound good. I don't like this film until I watched again years later. It's not as good as The Inkwell.
I loved the Inkwell! ❤️
I will tell my brother bet on that punk
😂❤️
And some chicks I know didn't say nothing
