Thank you so much Joy! Crafting plans for our upcoming first grade experience… my eldest - my guinea pig! Haha. Thanks again for sharing your favourites. Keen to look into your math suggestion more.
I would love a list of the books you put in your 1st graders basket for them to read. Also, can you do just the books for Beast Academy? It looked like an online game when I was looking at it before
I just do the books for 1st grade. They work for a READING first grader or for mom reading with a first grader. I do the online BA for my Level 2 and older - sometimes Level 2 is second grade but some kids don't get there until 3rd grade - which is great!
Do you do all those subjects everyday??? And when?! That seems like a lot for one day. Even if they are 5 minutes here and 10 minutes there. I feel like that is a lot of jumping around or trying to reengage. Maybe it is just my kids but they just want to be outside all day. Maybe I could bring a book outside to them. Haha Oh! Also, how often do you have a 1st grader record/notebook/write? That is a struggle over here for sure! Maybe we aren't doing it enough to get a rhythm 🤔
In one of your videos you mentioned the whittling book you use and the knife. I would love to give both those are try. Can you let me know, I can't find it now.
Here's the knife we used: amzn.to/3Q3Wm8K and this is the book we have: amzn.to/3rsxlus It's best to just start with kid shaving off the bark of a stick to get the hang of it. We also did soap carving first with butterknives to get us started
I love reading through those books! I typically read through the first three aloud because the stories are shorter and can be heard in one sitting. The other books have longer stories that need a couple of sittings for a younger child to sit through.
Thanks so much for sharing this! So helpful!

Started this week with my 1st grader and this was so helpful! Thank you. Also bought your Nature study hack. We are very excited for that! God Bless

The only subjects EVERYDAY are Reading practice, handwriting and math - the rest are on rotation ONCE per week!
Thank you for sharing Joy! Does your first grader join in on family subjects?
Yes they do

Do you recommend the My Bookhouse books during rhos grade? I'm starting first grade for one of my kiddos in January and still planning.
