- Thrifting has been my passion since I was a teenager and my friends and I would visit the market on the way home from school and work and find all the best deals on vintage clothing and shoes. Once I was married I upgraded to decor and furniture, growing up in a country so steeped in history and great appreciation for antiques, it was in my blood to seek out those special pre loved items and give them new life in my home.
Some years later I find myself enjoying thrifting more than ever, seeking out those special pieces to create the look and feel of a curated antique home that has seen its items passed from one generation to the next. (well that's the look I am going for)
I hope you enjoy the video today as I have included some of my favourite, unique and one of a kind pieces that have been thrifted over time. A couple are rare and very lucky finds that I will forever be grateful for.
I prefer the green, it will go through all the seasons
It’s a beautiful Waverly fabric and it reminds me of William Morris’s print ❤️
Adorable Easter tree!!! And I love your garland!!!! Such a beautiful cabinet!!! Your shelf I LOVE!!!!!!!! I can’t say enough how beautiful your kitchen is!!!!!!!!❤❤
Thanks so much that little tree is so cute and a great find 🐣
I love the yellow stripes with roses and the red and white stripes with small roses🌹🌹So french country looking! 😊 Your lamps are fabulous! 😍 I love mirrors and clocks also, especially vintage ones! Needlework art is so lovely and hard to find. I even like the old velvet artwork. Your home is so cute. 😍🌹🏡
Thanks so much! 😊 I used to see needle point art all the time, I don’t anymore (maybe I got all the good ones) 😉
I love the yellow stripe for all the chairs.
It’s the most popular ❤️
I love the green.xx🐝🐝
That’s why I can’t choose 🤔
@@lynseysrecycledbliss1111 other than that one of each I would love that, it’s like choosing your favourite child.xx🐝
lol
I like the red velvet, it's classic. The green would be my second choice. I love the palm tree curtains.
Thanks so much, I do love the velvet and was thinking I may try slip covers for the chairs that way I have winter and summers chairs 😊
My two cents is for the Ralph Lauren yellow stripes!
Definitely the favourite 🤩
I really like the yellow stripe!
Thank you 🙏
Your home is absolutely lovely. Our Thrift shopping here in the states tends to be a bit of a challenge but I’ve always loved it and am working on decorating my home with my favorite finds. Thank you for sharing with us! Your home is truly inspiring!
Thanks so much! 😊 one man’s trash is definitely another’s treasure ❤️
I love the green
It is lovely 😊and I have had it for years.
I love the yellow strip
Thanks me too
The yellow stripe is my favorite. It will be just right for spring and summer too.
It’s most definitely the front runner 👍
YES yellow strip from me❤
@@GMAlisa it’s definitely the favourite 😉
Your home is beautiful Lynsey. Thank you for sharing. I especially love the needlepoint wall. I am collecting unfinished cross stitch and tapestry pieces to do the same thing. I can’t afford to buy the finished product and it’s not available in our thrift stores as much. Not in my area. How do you keep the plates standing on your shelf? Looks great as well.
I was just saying the needle point pictures are very rare these days, up until a couple of years ago they were everywhere and very cheap. I see them for resale now and very overpriced ☹️
I like the Ralph Lauren yellow stripes/roses.
That’s the most popular so far👍
In my opinion one of the reasons thrift stores have raised their prieces so much is because of the resales which hurts all of us who just want them to use in our home
100% agree. 😊
While I certainly agree with you that is a factor, several places I shop at have said they have people who look up the items on the internet.
@@shirleyemrick1700 I have heard the same thing. Prices here are through this roof
I would cover all the chairs with the yellow stripe material.
@@eunicenield9631 that’s definitely been the most popular choice 👍
I vote for the green for the chairs!!
That’s a beautiful Waverly print and it reminds me of William Morris’s print 👍
Dear Lynsey, Thank you so much for the lovely home tour. Hugs💞
You are so welcome! 🤗
What a Treasure Trove you have created! I saw your video Twice, not to miss anything.
As far as the dining room chairs go, I am crazed about all Ralph Lauren fabrics, as soon as I am blessed to find them while thrifting, I just throw them in my cart, but based on my history, I drive home with a Big smile on my face 😆😆. So my choice is the yellow stripe, if you want to give your look a twist, take the 2 chairs that are the head of the table, at both ends and cover those 2 chairs in the red/white/floral stripe.
Seeing your infamous yellow Chinese toile living room curtains just covered my thrifted heart in happiness ❤️💖💝❤️.
Congratulations on creating a wonderful Designer Show Home, every nook & cranny is filled with goodness.
I am happy to confess, while out in The Wild, I only buy the treasures that speak to me, and if the price is right, I seal the Deal.
Have a glorious week, you so deserve it ❤️🇫🇷❤️
I swear we where separated at birth 👶 I sis actually think of you as u put the curtains up 👍and I can absolutely agree that a good day of thrifting is an absolute dopamine rush and I also drive home with a big smile. The lamps where my latest triumph 🥰
@@lynseysrecycledbliss1111 you make me Laugh, separated at Birth, sums it all up 😂⭐️😂⭐️
Hello, Green of yellow 😉❤
Good morning! Thanks yellow is definitely the most popular so far 😉
🐰The yellow draperies in the dining and living room are probably my favourite of everything you have. I absolutely love the fabric. The dining chair fabric choices are ralph lauren, stripe with petite flowers then green. 🙋♀️
Thanks so much! 😊 I love the curtain fabric it’s so English country house 😉 and the yellow fabric is definitely the most popular 👍
I would go all three on the fabric because I'm dreadfully indecisive, and they're all gorgeous.
I never tire of seeing your home. Every single corner makes my heart happy.
Oh thank you so much, yellow is winning this race with green second but I would like to use all three I think it may be a nice change. 👍and definitely different 😉
This is my year to go through all the treasures I already own and do something with them, but every single time I watch one of your videos I want to go out thrifting! 😂 You have such a lovely home and a fantastic eye! The luck part, I truly believe that comes from throwing out your intentions of what you want to the universe and the universe answering you. ❤
100% agree. 👍
Hi Lynsey!!!! I’m here watching ❤. I love your kitchen!!!!! So many beautiful thrifted items!!!!!!!
❤️
Gorgeous home throughout ❤. For the fabric I love the Ralph Lauren, with that said I also love the green and white . I’m sure you’ll do a fantastic choice whatever you decide. Loving ALL CURTAINS IN YOUR HOME 🏡 . Thanks again for this beautiful video ❤❤❤
Thanks so much. I was definitely born in the wrong decade 😉 I do love the Edwardian and Art Decco designs
As a child I can remember Goodwill thrifting with my mom back in the 60’s. All those prom dresses with the taffeta ❤. That Goodwill store is there to this day.
My greatest find is an E.A. Burbank painting. He has paintings in the Smithsonian. Granted, mine is a very small painting of “The old church, Pueblo of Cochiti New Mexico but it’s valued at $1500. Told my kids ….this pays for all my previous buys😂🤣😂
Love the red striped print. Maybe cover the four chairs with it, then use the remnants as piping on the 2 remaining chairs to tie it together.
All the places I used to thrift at are gone ☹️ but your print is a one in a million find👍and what a great idea to add piping in the contrasting fabric! Thanks for that !
Lynsey- re: dining room chair covers, in my opinion, I am leaning towards the red stripes with the tiny roses. The yellow Ralph Lauren fabric (although beautiful!) would minimize the elegance of your William Morris dining room curtains; where the red plays it up. I would do 4 chairs and leave 2 with the red velvet. But what do I know??🤭 You're the expert! lol!😊
Thanks so much for your input., I wish I had more of the red stripe it’s perfect !
Hi Lynsey, my choice for your chairs would be all three two each for the 6 chairs. Love your home so much we have same taste. I've just bagged myself a italian inlaid dining table and four chairs with red velvet seats for £60 from marketplace. They are amazing and are immaculate. Love them. Love your £15 sofa velvet with the tassel on the bottom. Your fire screen tapestry piece is beautiful. Keep up the good work. Love from Sunderland, UK 🇬🇧.
Wow you did get a good deal on your table and chairs it’s sounds gorgeous! 🇬🇧❤️
The mix of 3 is quirky- couldn’t pick until you offered all 3. PS you’re such a treasure. Elizabeth 😊
Thank you Elizabeth, I really appreciate your lovely comments 😊❤️
Ralph Lauren or a neutral.
This is a beautiful cozy thrifted space.I love thrifting..You have one of a kind special things for your space.I don't sew,but I use tapestry s,scarves from India & such for draping. I downsized so I had to get rid of alot of things.I am now 75& still like it but wonder what to do with stuff if son does not want,or just let him deal with it.😊Your place is very cozy.
It’s hard trying to stop thrifting, I am trying so hard not buy more knowing I am selling to downsize☹️my big consolation is I can still thrift in France 🇫🇷
Oh Lynsey, I have never found a TH-camr whose style aligns with mine like yours. I loved your egg holder with the chicken handle. A newer piece? I wait patiently for Sundays so I can see what you’ve created. Always takes my breath away. And where do you get that energy and drive? I’m envious…
Oh thank you So much, it’s so lovely to find a kindred spirit 👍
I absolutely love your home & style so pretty!!! I love all the transferware & brass & the horse pictures for the gallery wall they are stunning 😍 yes I’m thinking green for the chairs & then make some pillows with the other fabric!!! ❤
Thank you so much!! I must admit I love a nice horse pic 😉now if I could just find transfer ware with horses on …. Perfect 👌
Your house is lovely. I had to subscribe. I love thrifting. I think stuff was better made back then.
Thanks so much, I quite agree, I have often thought I was born in the wrong century! lol
When I saw the Ralph Lauren fabric , I thought : oh , yes ! Absolutely this fabric! But when the three fabrics lay beside each other I wasn’t that sure anymore. They are all so beautiful, sorry , can’t make a decision 🫣
lol ! yes my predicament exactly 👍 but most people are definitely favouring the yellow.
I think the yellow stripe is the winner with the ticking incorporated somehow!
Btw I’ve always loved that yellow drapery fabric and have been watching out for some. 😊
Thanks the yellow is most popular, I found the same fabric on eBay but it was very expensive ☹️
Lynsey, your home is a treasure box - so much to see and enjoy! As a former quilter and home sewer, I am a fabric collector as well. My favorite is the green fabric for the dining chairs. TFS.
Oh thank you! The green reminds me a a William Morris print 😊
Another great video Lynsey! I love the yellow and red fabric together, I don’t like the green with it though. I think it’s the pattern on the fabric. But every thing you put together Seems to work. You’re home beautiful !
Thanks so much. The yellow is definitely the front runner 🤗
Your home is very cozy and warm and love all your collections! As for your dining room chairs, I love the yellow stripe with the roses. very spring/summer or even all year round. I can also see four of them in the yellow stripe and the host and hostess chairs in the red strip. Then you can make a runner out of the green and white fabric. There, you have all 3 fabrics. I too love fabric!!
Thanks for the great suggestions 👍
Your home looks like the multi- million dollar curated estates - all individually chosen pieces that create a cohesive look. But yours is on the budget of the average person! It’s so pretty and your guests can linger and explore every inch! Will you be shipping everything to France?
lol thanks so much ❤️ I will be taking some things with me , the most precious and things I can’t find in France.
I love seeing your finds and how you use them in your home. You have an eye for bringing it all together. For the chair covers...... have you thought about keeping the red velvet and making little bolster pillows to sit on the chairs? Which can be changed through out the seasons? I love the red velvet!!
Oh you are absolutely right I also love the red velvet, I am thinking some kind of slip cover would be the perfect option. 😊thanks so much for the suggestion. 👍
Hi Linsey, I think if there is enough fabric in the yellow stripes with the beautiful roses, should be the one to use on your dining chairs, especially since it's the one you like so much. And it does go well with your rug. I absolutely love your show!!! I never miss it!!❤❤
Thank you so much. ☺️ and the yellow fabric is most definitely the favourite so far 👍
I so enjoyed your house tour! It is all so beautiful and sparks inspiration for what I can do with my own things. I lean towards blues and greens, so the green fabric really appealed to me, but the Ralph Lauren fabric was gorgeous. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options!
Thanks so much, that was my thought with the fabrics, I love them all 😉
absolutely NOT all of them. First choice is yellow ticking, second choice is green. but do all in one fabric. You have a lot of lovely things!
Thanks for the tips! ☺️
I would go for yellow stripe fabric but maybe consider slipcovers. I really love the red velvet seat cushions especially for fall and winter. Whatever you decide will be lovely.🌷🌷
Great idea!! That’s something I hadn’t even considered 👍
I would redo the chairs in the rose and yellow striped fabric it is the one you have the most of and for a formal dining table you want to keep your chairs all the same ...loved yout tour..you have gotten some great buys..I am also a thrifted or I say a deal maker the only things I buy new are upholstery furniture rugs and mattresses and dressers..my tables and end tables and lamps night stands have been thrifted I also have bookcases and desk that have been thrifted...lots of vintage items also gotten at Goodwill and Salvation Army and antique stores ...so I am alot like you ...wish I can find velvet curtains I have been on the hunt for them..
the new ones are thin and cheaply made but they want alot of money for them..again thank-you for letting us into your home.
We most certainly sound like kindred spirits, velvet is something I always pick up(even scraps) the red velvet curtains where a great find just before Christmas, I couldn’t believe I found 2 sets and they where beautiful quality. I buy most velevet curtains from ikea now they are lovely quality and a great price. (Only buy curtains if I can’t make or thrift them) ❤️good luck with your search for elusive velvet 😊
Good afternoon you have fabulous taste and have awesome decorating style. So happy I found your channel you inspired me to continue on my style also. Have a wonderful blessed Sunday and week.
Thanks so much! 😊 I’m very glad you found me, I’m a lover of most styles and I honestly believe they can all work together in one home (maybe not one room) but definitely one house 😉
Really, really love just poking around your house, Lynsey!! You're so talented!
lol! I love house tours, especially thrifted ones😉
Please leave the red chair covers 👍
I’m partial to the green fabric as it’s my favourite colour. Love those gold pheasants on the mantle and the brown couch and the little couch in the spare bedroom.
Me too!! That little love seat in the bedroom was a$30 purchase about 20 years ago and has changed so many times it’s another favourite of mine 👍
Why not make cushions using green on one side flip over and sew yellow or strip material. Should be able to stretch the materials and flip the pillows on your whim.❤
That’s a really good idea, then I could keep the red velvet for the winter 😊👍
I think the red ticking and the yellow stripe would be perfect together. I don’t think I’d add the green fabric in the mix rather would use for something else.
I wish I had more of the red ticking it was a great vintage find, but the yellow is most popular so far 👍
The yellow material Ralph Lauren is just fascinating an add extra batting on the chairs they seem a little flat.❤❤❤❤❤
That’s a good idea 😊
I love your home,/ I also love needlework
I have issues with storing all the items I find, because I live in a small home. I to, like to change out pictures often.
That’s the best way to showcase all your beautiful art and decor, change it out seasonally, then storage becomes the issue 😌
I love the Ralph Loren material for the chairs. What is the color in your alcove? My home is almost all second hand as well, but yours is much more curated of course.
I assume you mean the alcove in the dining room, it’s lemon so the yellow fabric will be perfect 👌
Yellow stripe. I always enjoy your videos. Thank you so much
Thanks for watching! The yellow stripe is definitely winner this race 😉
All I can think as an explanation for the Rosary with the BIG beads is that it was for a child (small fingers) learning the Rosary ha
Honestly, they are enormous, beautiful but massive 😊
You have put the effort in.This is a one of home and that is everything to me.Love and light to you.xx🐝🐝
Thank you so much! My lovely 🥰
All in the Ralph Lauren fabric would look lovely 👌 Lynsey
The yellow seems to be most popular 😉
Absolutely lovely home ... thanks for sharing
Thanks so much! 😊
I am new to your channel, I love thrifting and like you my home is mostly thrifted.
Welcome!! I’m guessing like me you have been a long time thrifter, it’s always good to know another kindred spirit ☺️
We have very similar styles you and I. I just love all the creativity you're put into your home.
Thanks so much kindred spirit 😊
I love everything about your style so gorgeous it's magnificent everything you've done is amazing beautiful i can't get enough of this video ❤
Thank you so much! ☺️
Uh! Just lovely. All of it! I voe the yellow stipe with roses.
That fabric is also tres French
It’s definitely looking like yellow stripes 👍
I like the idea of all three. To me it makes things more interesting. I like mixing designs up.
I agree 👍
I thoroughly enjoy you & your beautiful thrift ed home!!!! I personally love the Ralph Lauren fabric....unique yellow stripe with roses! Blessings!
Thank you so much!! I believe the yellow print is definitely the most popular 👍
Absolutely beautiful and I too love all the fabrics!
Thank you so much!☺️
Your furniture pieces are so beautiful!!!!❤❤
Thank you so much!!😊
I love all three fabrics but the green is more neutral for all year
Thanks so much 👍
I really love the yellow stripe and your creativity
Thank you 🙏 yellow is definitely most popular 😊
And I love the painted alcove! Great idea.
Thank you! 😊
I think I would use all of them.
That’s great 😃
The Ralph Lauren pattern all the way .
That’s the most popular by far 👍
I like the green for the chairs
It’s a beautiful Waverly fabric that reminds me of one of William Morris’s designs 👍
All in the yellow stripe..
Definitely the most popular!
Hi. My three most favorite DIY/decorating channels are yours, Simply Sherrie, and the Painted South with Deborah. You three have been so lovely to invite us into your homes. Feels like you guys are neighbors. If you dont mind me reaching out, i am curious why we haven't seen anything of the Painted South since Christmas. Have you heard anything through the grapevine or perhaps have any of your subscribers?
Wow, thank you! I have just checked out those channels will have to give them a good look. I hate to say it but usually unless otherwise specified if your channel is off for a little while it usually suggests illnes from the channels I follow that’s the only reason I see. Sorry I hope I’m wrong maybe she won the lottery!
@@lynseysrecycledbliss1111 Yes, I thought about illness too. Hopefully that isn't the case and life just got busy for her. I wish her well and hope she returns. Your talent in sewing and decor with an English flair and Deborah's old world style painting technique is always an inspiration to me. I would love to see one of those collaboration videos with you two. I always smile when I see your new videos. Thanks much, neighbor.

ALL yellow stripe!
It’s definitely the most popular 😊
The yellow stripe
That’s proving to be the most popular 👍
Beautiful home!
Thank you!
I go with the green or 2 of each
It will certainly solve my dilemma 😊
I like the yellow striped material .The prices seem to be cheaper where you are ,you get great bargains. Are you moving to France permanently?
Yellow is most popular so far, and it am definitely very lucky with the prices (I just don’t buy the expensive items) and we are going to renovate the French house and split our time as much as possible till we retire . We still have family in Canada but we want them all to come to France with us 😉lol
@@lynseysrecycledbliss1111 yes you’re so lucky with the finds ,Well you will definately have the room for them all in your house in France haha x

Do them all in the green! 💚
It would be very pretty for the summer 🌞
Love your style.
Thank you!
Love the green print but not sure it would go well with the drapery. You go with your gut. It should make you happy, not anyone else.
Thanks, the yellow seems to be the favourite ❤️
Green
Green seems to suit the room best but the others, though are pretty, seem to be too much.
What a cool idea to add the needlepoint to the fire screen. I loved the walk through.
Thanks so much. I really wanted to use that piece and it reminded me of the old fire screens, I saw one for $350 lol
WOW I want to move to France with you 😊 how exciting!!!
Oh yes we are very excited 😊

@@lynseysrecycledbliss1111 yes ma'am we are both very excited!
Good morning! So happy to share my tea with you this morning, Lynsey. I’m going to have to pay more attention to the bedding/material part of thrift stores. As I do enjoy a more eclectic look, I would most likely used all three of the lovely fabric and leave the two head chairs with the red. I also enjoy using different plates, silverware, glasses and napkins for each setting. If I find something I love, I will figure a way to work it in. Have a great week!💓
Yep we do the same thing, use the things we buy and enjoy them and It’s true, sheets are very versatile 👍
