    I am glad the house was left with all those treasures. So many possibilities for the house and garden. I love marble topped furniture also. I just always loved some of the fancy French furniture. My favorite is Louis XV furniture. That is a lovely B&B

    The place you stayed is gorgeous! Those beams upstairs! I love!!! I can picture your backyard when it's done, and I know it will be beautiful. Wasn't it nice of those that were there before to have left you with so many treasures and useful things. I'm so happy for you!😊

    It was nice to see a beautifully restored home in France. If you ever watched any of the exploring channels, like Explomo, it is heartbreaking to see all the abandoned mansions and castles in France and throughout the world that are left to decay with all the furnishings intact, along with amazing antiques, photos and personal belongings left behind. It's a waste of resources but I imagine heirs might not have the means or desire to keep them up and most people don't like the dark, elaborately carved styles from back then. Still, they are historic and the workmanship can't be found any more. Your new home is going to be beautiful and I love the exposed beams. That small table with the little draw placed down low is charming and you can do a lot with what was left behind. Looking forward to seeing what you do in the future and appreciate you sharing.

      Thanks so much. My heart breaks for the waste! The history and the value both historically, culturally and financially. I understand the cost of the upkeep etc but to leave them to ruin is a crime. All too often the newer generations don’t see the true value till things are gone. ☹️ so very sad. The dream was always a chateau of my own but our French house is so beautiful we can’t wait to get started 👍❤️🤗

    Well I’m glad to know that me and my husband are not the only people that don’t downsize as they get older 😂!! No community living for me … 😂 !! The original owners, the collectors that have once owned and cherished those possessions would be so happy that a person like you that will also love and cherish those items have taken possession of them !! I can see in minds eye, how gorgeous it’s all gonna be again !! ❤I noticed a Rosmund Pilchner book on the shelf .. you will love her books if you have not discovered her before .. English country sides etc…. Just lovely sweet books!

    Lynsey, the rooms are perfect. Just knowing that you dont have to bring all furniture & what you do need you have great places to get them. You kept saying the word jeets. I'm not sure of spelling. What is that mean & how is it spelled?😂 Those prints on the wall that fabric was added to are beautiful. I have an antique piece. Those are great! Bed & breakfast was just as lovely.🩷

      Thanks so much. The gites are what the French call the holiday rental homes. We have two of them, and one main house. 😊

  • @deliamartinez3186
    @deliamartinez3186 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh I don’t know if you’ve already mentioned it and I miss the video. Will this be your permanent home and do you speak the language? So are those openings in the wall windows or just like a breezeway to let air in

    • @lynseysrecycledbliss1111
      @lynseysrecycledbliss1111  ปีที่แล้ว

      We have a 5 year plan, we want to Reno the gites (holiday rentals) and do a few months in the winter and the same in the summer, we are learning the language we both know the basics. The house and the gites where built in the early 1800’s and the little openings are indeed windows (apparently lots of the farmhouses have them). That’s the plan as it stands now. ☺️
