Really enjoyed this, especially with the point on clarifying the decision making process at the start. That's a golden rule to avoid confusion, conflict or ambiguity
Glad you found the channel. I hope you and your students find the videos helpful. I actually have another channel with tons of videos from this book. th-cam.com/users/OrganizationalCommunicationChannelvideos
I think overall consensus is best to make sure everyone has a voice and help keep peace. There will always be radicals but sometimes even what they bring to the table can be useful and maybe even considered in future decisions.
So close! Thanks for noticing. I'm so thrilled to see your channel cross 1/4 of a million, too. That's epic. You were way ahead of the curve on TH-cam and are still a role model to me and my channel.
Thank you, Samantha. That mic is a Shure SM7B. It's around $400. Plus, it's going through some other audio gear to get to sound at its best.. But, if you're looking for a good sounding mic that is less expensive, I also use a Blue Yeti USB mic that will run right into a computer. It also sounds really good once you get used to it. That one isn't cheap either but it's less at around $130.
Hi Sajad. Zero? Well, you *_could_* go to the "videos" table and select "oldest" videos and start from the beginning but that's almost 200 videos. _But, I recommend just going to the Videos tab on the channel and look through the videos and watch the ones that stand out to you._
Hey Alex if i want to be like you a communication coach what should I study? I am studying history and international relations the courses you give can help for this work?
I majored in Communication (e.g., interpersonal communication, organizational communication, public speaking, leadership, etc.). I also earned an MA and PhD and I teach college. I started consulting with clients when I was about 1/2 way through my MA degree and I interned for a respected consulting company. That's how I got started. I hesitate to give advice about that or recommend that other people should do it the way I did it. There seem to be lots of paths into consulting, coaching, speaking, etc. The key is to combine your education and get real-world experiences in the area you want to eventually coach in.
Could you tell me more about how it sounds to you? I have the gain set to the recommended levels (peaking at about -12 db on the meter). Does it sound distorted to you? The meter stays almost entire in the green and only touches the yellow here and there (never goes into the red). Or, is it just too loud overall compared to other TH-cam videos? I care a lot about the sound quality so these are real questions.

Which approach do you think is the best?

I'm glad it was helpful, Practical Inspiration. And, yes, agreed. Taking a minute to pause and clarify can help avoid many problems down the road.
I've been assigned to teach this course, small group communication and I found all of your videos are really helpful! thanks

Thanks for this video, I will be sharing it with my students. Random question, what is the brand of your microphone, your sound is spot on.

@@alexanderlyon ok thx
Does anyone have experience making group decisions via sociocracy?
turn the gain down on your mic

Who else is binge watching?

Yes, I agree that's the ideal. It takes time but it's worth it.
