I'm a surface rescue swimmer in the navy and we're told to always keep positive control of the person no matter what, the biggest thing I noticed was when you were securing him into the MEDEVAC Litter, for us we have to wrap our legs around it so we can keep that positive control so we can use our hands but you don't do that. is that not a part of CG procedures?

It’s part of the safety checks we perform before sending the survivor up into the helicopter

he's doing a standard set of Safety Checks, PIW's will often tie themselves off to floatation so we do checks of the body to remove these
