      @@halcreasy4707 Well, a while back Moog contacted me and said they liked my work. They asked if I’d like to take part in the development of a new analog poly-synth (the Muse). Of course I agreed! I've also made some factory presets for it (together with Kevin Carballo, Cloudface, Lisa Bella Donna, Steve Dunnington, Manny Fernandez, Eric Frampton, Chris Miller, Erik Norlander, Stephen Petoniak, Max Ravitz, Drew Schlesinger and Danny Wolfers).

    Please note that his explanation of the effects section needs clarification. From his description, we are led to believe that in order to be fully analog at the audio output, is to turn off the effects. That is true, but know this: There is a MIX knob in that section. When it is fully counter-clockwise, it is completely in the analog domain. When fully clockwise, then it is 100% WET and completely digital. Fortunately, the MIX knob performs as it should... a proper Parallel routing, where the analog signal is always present with the effects blended/mixed-in.!! Good work on that one MOOG. Not every manufacturer has implemented their effects for an analog synth in this fashion.

    • @jumpstar9000

      @giedriusnakas5795 It should have more than that. If we think about it, adding more slots is cultivating the aftermarket sound designer patch sales. Nobody likes swapping patches out. I was doing it today on my PRO 3 and it is a pain in the ass. I wonder how much these patches are? 512 bytes? 1k? Seems like a lot, but even if they are 1k each. 4096 would be 4MB. It's hardly breaking the bank.

  • @666JGNotts

    Sounds great and has massive modulation capabilities but I do think that the 256 presets is too low and will mean a lot of swapping in and out via software. I believe nearly all the preset spaces are already taken with factory presets so straight away you're going to have to mess about with them.

    Copied many ideas from Polybrute, added some new, sounds good, especially the filters, 2 more voices, more flexible delay, but of course doesn’t get close to the nifty french engineering and doesn’t have the matrix overview or flexibility, no visualizers, and no reverb, no chorus, flanger etc.

    • @dankeplace

      PB has the weakest of Oscillators available on any flagship synth, this is why it relies heavily on FX to give it character.
      So much for "French engineering".

    • @DasHemdchen

      @@dankeplace You‘re right the VCOs sound weak sometimes, but with „nifty French engineering“ I refer to the hundred or so parameter settings behind all of its elements, e.g. VCO tune modulation settings, extra Env and LFO settings, the ability to morph nearly everything, even between LFO waveforms etc.

    • @dankeplace

      @@DasHemdchen Yes and all that doesn't make the synth sound any better due to the weak sounding oscillators, you strip away the fx and you have a very bland sounding synth is my point.

    • @DasHemdchen

      @@dankeplace Correct. As a „band-aid“ to boost VCO performance I would recommend to set Disto of the Ladder filter to around 50%.
      On PB12, Layer mode gives 4 VCOs per voice, although then it‘s six voices only.

  • @theeventhorizon-valebridge9512

    1) An awkward design for an essential live expression function, the macro knob. Why wasn't it either a ribbon control or another side wheel?
    2) Too few on board user sound bank slots. Being able to load/swap sounds via the computer is good but there should be far more memory slots in the first place. How about 32 x 16 instead of just 16x 16, of which half could be user patch banks?
    3) No poly aftertouch!
    4) Make it more affordable! £3k! It should be £2K.
    5) Many of the presets seem like fairly uninspiring dross.
    Otherwise it's a great effort guys, especially the arpeggiator and sequencer.
