Fighting for board control and battles between minions make an overall game of Hearthstone more fun and compelling, but taking 20+ damage in one turn is not particularly fun or interactive." - Hearthstone devs' explanation for nerfing Leeroy Jenkins from 4 to 5 mana in 2014
@@viktordeastora6735oh yeah because taking 100+ damage simply cause my opponent drew their deck is fun and interactive right? And there's devs on the team that have been part of it for years now so your comment is about right wrong.
It's hard to put in words how f*****g satisfying it felt yesterday to play 8 hands right after my opponent played Shudder plus Incindius and see his deck go from 36 to 8 cards. It was orgasmic! 😂😂😂
Literally same. I got tired of loosing games against shaman so I created an outright awful card but damn if it gets the work done against asteroid shaman.
I've been playing your starship priest deck a lot basically since you released your vids on it and i've been queuing into a lot of asteroid shamans, and man, it's not even the worst matchup, but probably the most stressful
The fun part is that, the shaman played it wrong, you dont kill the minions, you left then low health so that the asteroid and eruptions kill them, because the armors comes after the damage.
I mean, that's relative. If you draw the Meteors before the Eruptions then you are going to lose damage. That the Armor triggers after the kill is only relevant if your opponent is about to take fatal damage.
When I played Exodar in this situation, I would opt for more starship pieces so as to spread out the damage but I'm seeing the double armor is the way to go here
I was space rogue, I played against this deck and did everything I could to armor up. I couldn't out armor it in the end. Multiple exodars multiple starships that were duplicated on launch. Infuriating.
I literally crafted the 8 hands from beyond just to blow asteroids up, an 8 hands payed at the right moment means they outright lose and asteroid infuriates me to no end since it's another "boards don't matter whatsoever" deck so I feel absolutely no regrets completely invalidating an asteroid shaman existence.
Whenever I want to make an asteroid shaman sweat I just play full on plague DK. It can’t outlast the asteroid damage towards the late game. But most often they kill themselves before it comes to that by drawing too many plagues.
The fact that draw asteroid and eruption damage keeps going through BEFORE deathrattles go off is disgusting. When you get to 0 hp, the armour from the deathrattles doesn't matter. You just die. Because of this I think the shaman misplayed at 9:48. He should have traded his minions to get the ships to low hp NOT killing them and used his titan to kill the Exodar. Dane was at only 25 hp. The combination of asteroids and eruptions could have killed Dane. If he was just gonna give Dane the armor anyway, then doing it in this order would have gave a chance for lethal.
Notice that Dane would not have won the game if he didn't discover Ra den from Aman thul. He was down to 9 health after gaining 12 armor from the 2 minions that were summoned, not counting the damage from minions they blocked.
I've played alot of BBU starship control dk and its possible to outheal asteroid shaman. But the best defense is to just play The 8 hands from beyond and just delete their damage spells.
It's funny that probably the best starship deck in Standard (and the only vaguely viable one in Wild) is priest thanks to 'gain a million armour'. (Though the Ra-den thing is absolutely something I've stole for Wild, you just keep getting boards back again and again forever)
Just remove the silly rule that you can add spell damage to the asteroids and eruptions ... if I'm not mistaken spell damage doesn't affect bombs in the deck, but hey, could be wrong. But ... when they print these kinds of shuffle cards they should just put Steamcleaner back into the core set. Again there is a deck that you can't really do anything against.
There is much more greedy version of asteroid shaman with that reflection spells location from legendary card + 6 mana aoe spells that shufflingg 5 astro each = 30 more astrid in deck
If this deck has so much damage output why is it so bad in legend? Why does it have a negative winrate? I dont understand how this deck is so good at lower ranks but basically unplayable in high legend. If there are any high legend players here that can explain the secret that would be awesome
The precise reason I don't play any standard - yeah, Wild has even crazier moments, but it feels more "balanced" in the sense that Standard ladder is just this garbage over and over again.....
you pronounce exodar in whatever way makes you happy even if as a wow player it makes me increasingly upset that you pronounce it like exodia instead of like exodus. but if we're being fair, your pronunciation in general sounds like a caveman wielding a club to an american so w/e just own it and smash. :P
Your comment that each asteroid was almost a pyroblast really puts things into perspective lol
And he still won

JFC modern hearthstone. Unstoppable force vs immovable wall.

@paperknigth2263 my point, Dane took lethal damage at some point, but the enemy didn't weak the minions enough, so it soaked a lot of damage
Did you notice that Dane would have lost the game if he didn't discover Ra den?
THERE IT IS.
There is my YRAILA?
The Immovable object vs the unstopppable force.

Great video as always! What did you cut from the previous Exodar/Expanse deck to include Deafen? Thanks!
I discovered an 8 Hands from Primus against an Asteroid Shaman while playing rainbow DK. That was some good stuff.
I love to see that deck get rekt, good job bro
a rare commentary upload
I'm fairly sure the answer is yes.
shudder into +1 damage to all meteors always wins lol

keep the consistent uploads coming 👌😩
That was pretty much the perfect asteroid game holy cow.
How much asteroid would an asteroid do if an asteroid asteroid astroid shaman?
I love the part when he just asteroid asteroid and asteroid all over the place

any deck code for this? quite interesting to see shaman crumbles with their own mistakes

Is the background music greenpath ambience from Hollow Knight?

I had 100 armour with this Priest deck. And still lost
I looked up the win rate for Resurrect priest what Dane is playing vs Asteroid Shaman, it is around 30%. Oof.
Just 8 Hands these astreoid away!
what does dane say every intro? Is it "You alright la" ?🤔
just survive 201 asteroids EZ Clap

It is like Exodus, so EX-oh-darr, with only the first syllable stressed and not the second
Both these decks are pretty terrible for the health of the game. Thanks for highlighting it.
Yea if the deck draws poorly dk is winnable but most of the time you just die :)
200 armor! this deck is unkillable lol
