But, anyway, Peter is very aware during this whole thing. Not saying that's good or bad. But, the answers he had for the interviewer weren't off the cuff. Rehearsed. Whether he went to bed the night before and invisaged an interview would happen, I don't know.
But, what strikes me, and what has struck me since... when the middle class start getting involved in working class music/scencs. Back then, it almost passed as organic. "We all like The Stones, Pink Floyd, Bowie, The Beatles, Public Enemy, The Pistols, James Brown". Idiots poncing round with band t-shirts.
Fast forward to TwentyTwenties. Got white middle class shsyters talking about Grime, Dancehall and Afrobeats.
Anything to fit in. Fit in. Then, then take over. To pretend they didn't live in a well furnished home, that they went hungry, went to a school where they got knifed or shot. Living in the 'Shires, knowing yer Ma sucked off the Vicar every other Sunday down the Anglican and yer Da wore his mother's clothes for sexual gratification. That ain't poor/working class/gritty.

Anyways, I like Peter. It's sad he's never been truly happy. Talented fella. Wrote some great, great songs. Was/is capable of much more. But, he needs to stay clean. Smack ruins people. He's got to fight that, everyday, for the rest of his life.

I work as a casting director in the film & TV industry. This is a perfect example of the "It factor" we often talk about. Some people just have an instant, noticeable, commanding presence & charisma. Even if they're not famous, you can always tell that someday they will be famous. Some people are born with "IT" !
