      If you can get unprinted news paper sheets ask at printers you can use that over and over and you can press it with books as a weight instead of actually putting in the books or you can help your local second hand store and second hand book stores economy buy books just for this

    If you put a sheet of wax paper down your box won’t get ruined and the risk of losing petals is a lot less! I press a lot of my flowers with stems or in arrangements. On thicker pieces I spray with rubbing alcohol to prevent mold.

    NOTE: you can also use 2 piece of MDF wood about 16 by11, 3 millimeters thick, papertowles & parchment paper. 1 piece of wood, then 2 sheets paper towel, next parchment-place the flowers, then parchment on top of flowers, then papertowles & the last piece of MDF wood, secure with elastic bands & place weighted object (I.e., books) on top....flowers will be ready in 10-14 days. (place in a plastic container with a good lid, put 2 pieces of papertowles & some silica beads, fold over & glue or tape.

  • @yourstruly7009
    @yourstruly7009 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This is really an old school method. My mom taught me this when i was a little girl. The heavier the book the better, but she taught me to use wax paper. Im not sure if that helps anyone but sometimes when you press flowers n leaves (for fall) you may get a inky residue from colors. This helps save your books from being ruined. If you don't have wax paper you might be able to use paper towels but I haven't tried that yet. Just an idea...

    • @sage7104
      @sage7104 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Diane Bruder when I do I’ll usually leave them for two to three weeks and if it’s a thicker flower I’ll leave of for longer

    • @amyl3716
      @amyl3716 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      She kind of mentioned that it was about 1.5-2weeks, so I'd assume about that, maybe a little longer for big flowers, especially considering some of hers were still a little wet! :) (This reply is probably irrelevant considering your comment is from two months ago. Haha)

    • @elizabethlucas5450

      Depends on how dry or wet the flower is. Some flowers need 1 week, others 3-4 weeks. The thicker the flower the more moisture it holds so it would take longer.

    Hey, I have a couple questions about pictures in resin. I watched your video about it and tried it yesterday. I did laminate it but i ran across some problems and not sure what I did wrong. Let me start by saying that I haven't got my alcohol ink yet so I used liquid acrylic instead. I poured the thinest layer of clear resin, layer laminated picture down face first, pushed it down, poured the rest of the clear resin on top, dripped some of the liquid acrylic and twirled it. When it cured the color had migrated to in front of the picture. This is literally the third time I have ever done resin. I really want to do a picture coaster. Should I not use the liquid acrylic? Should I do a layer of clear with the picture and then another layer after a few hours of curing? Any help would be so appreciated
