I really loved the high pitched deep deep bass sounds that double horn was giving out 🤣

I've always wanted to see one of these eproms read, and as Mr Guru points out below, you may be able to put on something decent instead. Those 3 buttons for reset, start and volume seem to be the same as on the tiny handheld arcade machines- I'm wondering if a redesign is possible using a potentiometer for the volume. Surprisingly, a lot of these devices actually have 16 bit graphics- the main Famiclone chip evolved over the years with Chinese manufacturers wanting to put better looking games on their devices. It'd be interesting to see how many of these cheap games would work on original hardware

Yeah, I have something similar that I bought for like 10 bucks at a dollar store. I had a long flight later that day and I wanted something to pass the time. This was before I had a switch. It served its purpose, but I doubt I'd use it again. It did have some good games though. Something like a RG351P might be worth the investment if it works well.

At least the screen looks ok - no stretching by the look of it? I vote tear out the eeprom and see what can be done :)

I've bought a few of these and I have to say that it is hit and miss mostly. I think if you really want to enjoy emulating an NES or SNES or other systems stick to the newer handhelds with a decent CPU/GPU at over $100 USD value and you won't be as likely to be disappointed.

There is no SELECT button on the console itself, only on the Player 2 controller. Which is ironic because on the Famicom the Player 2 controller had a mic instead of the SELECT button. Some games do make use of SELECT on the P1 controller, that is going to be a problem.

AV output was intended for CRT , , obviously its not going to look perfect on your 4K HDTV , , 😂

Among the obvious issues like lack of SD card slot allowing for CFW, that placement of face buttons and directional pad at the extreme bottom of the device is UNFORGIVABLE. SOOO uncomfortable looking. >=/
Tbh I prefer the device's screen to be off when outputting to a TV, save battery life, but an option to have it either way would be nice.
nice review, great tear down! =)
It's funny a device like this says "The joys of childhood, do you remember" Yeah! maybe if my childhood was full of "abuse" and "disappointment" because those are 2 words I'd associate with this device. lol =D
$15 Australian Dollarydoos?! Time for one of those giant Fosters me thinks P=

Damn, this thing needs Doom - it would sell like sliced bread! After adding decent TV out...
The console/controller at least looks pretty decent, if only the creators had a little more self respect - and: The chinese manufaturers really love their mini and micro USB ports!
