Korey did have harmonies on her part on the album version.. that also was their former guitarist Ben Kasica.. Seth Morrison joined Skillet in 2011... they did this song in the middle of their set actually... usually then end their current set with this song with an extended ending which will give you the extra extra extra shivers...
Ben Kasica , was the name of the guitar 🎸 player at the time. Seth Morrison replaced him after he left the band. Lori Peter's was the drummer before Jen took over. I think Peter's left because of health issues. Her Facebook mentioned about her overcoming cancer .
Yes! Finally another reaction out there to this song. Thank you. Hopefully you get others started on doing it🤞🏼 Yes that intro was epic. I’ve seen them 10x so far and the times I’ve heard them do this song they’ve never done an intro like that. So cool. Would love to see you react to “Whispers in the Dark”. You’d enjoy the guitar work on that one
I'm actually very familiar with "Whispers In The Dark", it was the very first Skillet song I ever heard. Unfortunately I can't do an honest reaction to it since I've already heard it. If you find a great live performance, I can do a reaction to the performance, just not the song.
@@THEDavidHeretic Do yourself a FAVOR and check out this live version of “whispers in the dark.” Judging by how much you liked the string intro to “rebirthing” you’ll go crazy over this one lol! Would love to see your reaction to it. th-cam.com/video/HA-CTmP9nEo/w-d-xo.html
Whos going to tell him about the epic encore version with extended outros they do for this song now. This version was right after it was released.... They used it as there encore for years. Search for a winterjam version... They have some great pyro with it.
Something interesting, I have the dvd and it actually sounds different than what was uploaded on TH-cam. The one on skillets channel is a lot more clear and definitely has the post production going on. The dvd doesn’t sound as polished as this, Another thing I noticed is that on the dvd during and after johns last few screams you can hear kory singing without any backing vocals, but on the TH-cam version it ain’t there.
If you aren't afraid to cry on camera, I'd recommend their song 'Lucy'. I think it was on the same album as this song, but I'm not 100% sure. It's not as heavy musically as most of their other songs, but it hits the feels like a Mack truck.
Jen isn't doing the background vocals here because she didn't sing them originally. Corey sings the female part on this song and harmonies on other older skillet songs before Jen joined. Pretty sure they are 100% live with very little backing tracks if any....
I don’t think it was Jen. The comatose album, which is what the song rebirthing is on, was the last album their last chick drummer was on. Jen came on the next album entitled “Awake” great review. Skillet is definitely my top 5 perhaps top 3 I’ve seen them several times in concert and I’ve never been disappointed.
It was jen on the drums, she looked different, cus she was young, and i was also a bit confused initally, but when insaw her rock out, i knew it was her!
@@ianfranks541 yeah I think so. It’s was nice of her to kinda train Jen when she was just starting, jens progressive metal playing at a young age was because of a good teacher like Lori !

I think Korey can't beat this high notes anymore, thats why she uses the track. Buuut I still loving her voice, it's so crazy and a only one. Hope she still doing some vocals for Skillet, but in her truly tone.
I was not aware of this particular live performance of the song: the ones I'm familiar with are Winter Jam Michigan (closing song there where it's a bit longer), acoustic live and the Comatose Comes Alive live performance. Still a good performance though, and you can tell it's an older one because 1) John is beardless and 2) Lori Peters and Ben Kasica are here (the previous drummer and guitarist respectively, the former of which trained Jen before she left). As for the backing vocals Korey does normally sing on this song (she also sings on The Last Night, Comatose and Falling Inside the Black, which like Rebirthing are on the Comatose album). Speaking of Skillet, here's a song by them you can check out that's very different from what's normally heard by them called Looking For Angels, also from Comatose (the closing track for the normal edition): th-cam.com/video/rXeuqtWVlHc/w-d-xo.html
@@THEDavidHeretic Thanks for that. While we're at it please consider reacting to this live version of Secret Ambition by Michael W. Yeah, it was Jen live. She joined the band while she was 17 at the very end of 2007 so this was before she was singing. But it was their old drummer Lori Peters who tracked that song in 2006.
I've heard of both, never really listened to either of them. I've had a number of requests for Nightwish, 4 songs in total. Only one song in the que for Within Temptation.

There is absolutely 0 tracked vocals ever in this song. Also, this was the closing song. They close with it quite often. The drummer is Jen on her first tour with Skillet. I worked this and the next 2 tours with them as a sound tech. John's voice was basically destroyed by the time they got to this song.
Seeing them live made me so happy, and Rebirthing live in concert is so amazing.
This song pre-dates Jen ... Corey is background vocals in this song.
This was Jens first tour with them, she sings in a song later in the show.
And they are not tracked
Even today Corey still does the background vocals on this song, at least every time I have seen them do it.
@@ronr3656 yes of course, it's her part! Her voice isn't as good as Jen's, but she sings well still!

Hands down the best skillet song in my opinion. The way it’s written and put together. The message behind it. Also has a 80s kinda vibe as well!
